I was building a typical Smogon Jolly natured Infernape when I realised something,
and I wanted to know if it has been used and if it sounds effective.

Infernape @ (Item)

SR
Taunt
Torment
Double-Team

I need help with which IVs would work. Maybe 31 on Def, SpD, Spe, and HP?

EVs = 252 Spe, 252 HP??, 6 on Def/SpD??

On the switch in throw up a Taunt to block the oponent from setting up.
If you've lived past Taunt, throw out your rocks for a nice entry hazard for anyone who might want to switch in on your Nape.
Torment is for the likes of pokemon that panic and use multiple moves, who will eventual run out of options due to not being able to use the same move twice.
Then Double-Team away to evade switch in which Nape needs due to a weakness to the ever popular lead, Swampert.

Rate this moveset and help with IVs and such.

Does it sounds good?

Aside from the fact that Double Team is illegal in most standard play, and that Azelf, Aerodactyl, Ambipom, Crobat, and Froslass are five relatively common leads that all carry Taunt and are faster than Infernape, and that even if Infernape manages to Taunt something it still can't take a hit well unless it resists it, and given that all the move types it resists are either very uncommon on leads or are matched with moves that do hit Infernape for normal damage, and that Infernape can't do anything back offensively at all, meaning that there is no point to Double Teaming anyway since all that could happen is that they run out of PP which is a task better suited to more defensive pokemon for later in matches than the lead position, and that Infernape's worst three stats happen to be it's HP, Defense, and Special Defense, and that

doesn't even make sense, and that nothing is stopping the opponent from switching out, and that I can't understand why you would even question having a 31 IV in every stat, this is a very solid, useful set.

I literally lol'd when I saw this, btw.

Thats why I asked before I did it. I'm new to competitive battling, so cut me some slack.

That's understandable. If you still want to do that type of lead, go with aerodactyl. Good luck
