hi i'm brand new here, but long time lurker & i'm wondering your opinions on the best starter team. i [obviously] transfered some of these pokemon from my pokemon pearl game where i'm at the elite 4, to my diamond game that i've just started. so far my team only has 4 members - but does this look like a promising team?

Image
chimchar- impish /blaze
riolu- mild /inner focus
pachirisu- hardy /pickup
happiny- lonely /natural cure

obviously a really cute starting team :D
i'm trying something different than what i did with my pearl game so i'm looking for opinions on what pokemon/types should i add, what makes the best team in the end etc etc
actually any response would be awesome thanks <3

Lol XD Your avatar is cute and funny. ^_^ I would go with Shinx over Pachirisu, since it evolves, but that's your decision. It'll probably get harder to use Pachirisu later on. That's my guess. Once you can, get a Gastly onto your team and have it become a Gengar. Or you can add Magikarp; it fits your avatar. Gible is amazing when it evolves into Garchomp.

You can also add all 3 starters if you want/haven't done that yet. Cactuar's advice is good too.

Evolve your {happiny} --> {chansey} --> {blissey} and your {riolu} --> {lucario} as soon as possible. Teach Blissey any good special move with an TM. Never-ever stick with one type only like gym leader because if your opponent happens to have a pokemon with an advantage over you, you are screwed.

To be continued...

Your starting line-up looks okay. Though you may want to focus more on changing the nature of your pokemon.
Here's my sugestion:

{infernape} = Adamant/Jolly
{blissey} = Bold
{electivire} / {luxray} = Adamant
{garchomp} = Adamant/Jolly
{gengar} = Timid/Modest or {dusknoir} = Calm/Bold

These are the final evolution of the pokemon [obviously]. {infernape} and {blissey} are cool. I use them too. though since you have a fighting-type pokemon already, you may want to change {lucario} to the most powerful non-uber dragon-type pokemon, {garchomp}. Also Volke is right, {pachirisu} is good early game but is weak later in the game so you may want to chamge it to a more powerful electric-type pokemon such as {electivire} or {luxray}, though i really prefer {raikou} of all the electric-types but it's VERY hard to predict what nature this pokemon has until you catch it and IF you can catch it... moving on. Volke is right about {gengar}, {dusknoir} is better in my opinion. It's all up to you, {gengar} is offensive while {dusknoir} is kinda like a tank/killer-type of pokemon. The last slot is up to you... look at what your team lacks and what your team is weak against then just fill up that hole.

Remember that this is just a sugestion. Use pokemon that you are comfortable with. The rest is up to you...

ophiuchus, this looks as if it's ingame, it doesn't really matter that much ingame, it's fairly easy.
ophiuchus' advice will be valid if/when you get into the metagame (wifi battles).

Trust me you just need your Starter, one Garchomp and one Gyarados.
