Well, for the past month or so, I've been using a physical Sharpedo on Shoddy with some success.


252 Atk | 252 Spd | 6 HP
+ speed nature, - anything but Atk

- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake

I now want to train myself a Sharpedo in-game, but I'm still not sure whether I should go with the above set, or a mixed set. Mixed Sharpedo usually keeps EQ and Crunch, but has Surf and Ice Beam replacing Waterfall and Ice Fang.

So, since I'd have to put EVs in both Atk and SpAtk, my question is, is the bigger base power of Surf and Ice Beam worth the drop in physical power? (Sharpedo's attack is quite a bit higher than its special attack)

A mixed Sharpedo is alot like a mixed Evire...they have about the same attack and the same special attack and speed....and when ppl wanna like maked Evire they replace thunderpunch with thunderbolt and put more Evs into special attack than attack...lol the same with sharpedo

If you're doing this, I would have to go with a Choice Scarf and enough speed EV's to outspeed what you want.

I did a set to outspeed a Weavile with Max speed on both:

@ Choice Scarf
Mild/Rash | 120 Spd, 252 Sp Atk, 136 Atk
-Waterfall
-Dark Pulse
-Ice Beam
-EQ

With this set, you can outspeed Weavile with 384 speed. With Max IV's for both attacks, you're running 317 Special Attack and 310 Attack. As any wall that might switch in would be Physical, max special attack would be best. If you must, run Surf on the first slot, due to the 7 points higher in Special attack. I like Watefall due to flinch, but whichever.

If you don't run Choice Scarf, max Speed and Life Orb for a mixed or Choice Band for an all physical set is a must.
