If mew is banned, shouldn't Celebi be as well?

Also, you may only challenge a gym once a week. Or two weeks. Or should we let each leader decide? I think that is the best route. Anywhere from a week to a month? Some of us are less connected than others. What i mean by that is some have wifi at home, but others (me) have to go to mcdonalds to use it. AND, mind you, ride a motorcycle, in 30 degree (freezing) weather. I don't know if you've ever rode a motorcycle in freezing temps, but to give you an idea:

Imagine riding, with little to no wind protection. Now imagine it is cold enough to ice the roads. Now imagine 60-80MPH winds.

See? Not fun!!! :D

Alright I need to clarify something:
Some applicants have been sending me more of their types than their alts, so here's what I am willing to do to comply in accordance with the 6v6, 4v4, 3v3:
The max limit for your roster is 12 still.
You may put more into your Type than your Alt, but the minimum you have to have for your Alt is 4 pokes.

Edit: Darn Kol, we should let each Leader to decide.

I'm in no way ready to be a gym leader, but this sounds great so far. If you need any help with anything, Undertaker, just PM me & I'll help you out. The league will be great. I do have a thought though, I think the leaders should be able to make the rules for challenges. Also, we should wait to take challengers until each gym has had maybe 10 battles each or something like that. I know the challengers need to get 8 badges first, but I'm sure there are some people out there that will have really strong teams & will be really good battlers. In other words it probably won't take long for someone to get 8 badges. :)

So...
All of the main rules should be available for all to read in the first post, or the sticky when it's up. (I think its up to date, but there have been a ton of suggestions)
This should include each gym's "House Rules", so that a challenger knows exactly what to expect before battle.

I don't quite understand the prerequisite of 12 Pokemon to qualify as a leader... That's a serious amount of training in real-time, which not many people have.
I get that alternates are important, but so many?
If all gyms followed a 5v5 rule it would be a lot easier. The types would be well represented by 5 Pokemon. To quell unfair advantages maybe allowing up to 2 alternates per leader will even things out. Granted, the alternates must fit in with the gym's theme, but not neccessarily the type.

I'm not sure about Cuddles' idea to trade after battle. Do you mean a literal trade, or just loading up the trade screen and looking at the challenger's Pokemon without trading?
And banning "cheaters"... Good idea in theory, but some kind of method most certainly must be placed to prevent cheating in the first place. A referee, if you will, who reviews the challenger's team prior to any gym challenges. To me that's a more productive idea, but an expert (maybe even more than one person depending on the popularity of this idea) on hax'd PKMN is needed.

I see time as the biggest problem.
The time zones make it difficult to organize battles, since we all have different schedules.
Not sure what to do about that.
Anybody have a time machine?

i think the 12 pokemon idea is probably because as soon as someone challenges a leader they could in theory tell everyone what pokemon they use. if you were a leader i imagine you wouldnt necessarily have to have 12 pokemon "registered", but it might be in your best interests to.

the "trade" idea was simply about looking at each others pokemon to make sure youre satisfied they were ok, so none have 999 in each stat etc. im no expert, but i know how to look up the psydex and see if things look fishy. i think its easiest to just organise the battles between a leader and challenger, no need for a judge/arbitrator. only if something didgey comes up, and really its just pokemon anyway, so there shouldnt be anything like this.

i think its better to just assume everyone is going to go about this fairly. no need to check things out before battles start. only if you think there is a need at the end of a battle should there be any checking i think. but both parties should begin the battle only if they are prepared to have their team checked out by their opponent at the conclusion of the match.

if a particular gym leader wants to fo 5v5 battles then thats up to them i guess. but i dont see how it would be easier. im just gonna stick to the tried and true 6v6.

Ok, there are 2 types of hacked pokemon, the 1st ones truly hacked with stats with stats of 999 in each stats. The 2nd types is semi-legit, these have legit stats, but are rasied legitly. The thing is that the 2nd types usually is caught with pokemon modifer cheats(not level modifer cheats), or are shiny. So my Question is, can we use semi- legit pokemon .

i think that can go under the jurisdiction of the gym leader as well. however, it wouldnt be fun to see (say) an infernape caught in eterna forest at lvl10 :D

Business again:

Thanks akizzk538 for your support.

There will be main rules and the Leader can make "House Rules"

6-8 Pokemon are allowed to be the type while 4-6 can be their alt. I asked for a list to calarify if they are in the rules. Sadly, this is an honor system and we have to go by what someone says.

6 vs: 3 Alts
4-5 vs : 2 Alts
3 vs : 1 Alt

Gym Leaders can decide the best of (up to 7).

And it is up to the Leader to allow semi-legit pokes. And the time that they can ban them (only up to a week though).

yep - i agree with that.

we just agree on the fairly basic general rules (for every gym) - mostly just whats in the first post.

each leader decides whether battles will be 3v3, 4v4, 5v5, 6v6.

as for semi-hacks its pretty hard to tell, if they are made properly. i would only complain if someone had one that was obvious, and provably a hack.

i will only be using pokemon i know are right. so i know i dont have anything to worry about.

now as soon as we have a full list of leaders we can get started, right? :)

Well we can start now. If there are any more applicants by Monday then they will be eligible for the rankings. I edited the first post, read under GYM LEADERS.

Wow...I haven't posted here for like 2 days and the no. of pages have gone to 4?!

Errr...I have 1 prob....I seriously don't know what Time Zone I'm in...how do you find out? :?

And...I'm getting pretty confused...how many Pokemon with the same type as the Gym can be used at any one time? What's the maximum number of choice pokemon that a Gym Leader can use in Battle? There are 3v3, 4v4, 5v5 and 6v6...what's the number of choice and non-choice pokemon that each Gym Leader can use in each kind of battle? Can someone list this down? I would seriously appreciate it. :)

Aright Pokemonster you can't have Ubers and the Dragon Gym is taken.

For Sapp:

For each type of battle you can use up all of your slots with your type, but for alts:

6v6 : 3 alts max
5v5 : 2 alts max
4v4 : 2 alts max
3v3 : 1 alt max

I belive you are GMT+8

Post it in this format:

Name of Gym:
Type of Gym:
Rules:
Leader availability:
Trainer FC/name:
Win-Loss-Draw:
_-_-_
Winners (or different other name):
-
-
Prizes (if)

That way you can update it as needed.

For the Dragon Gyms: I decided that since they have a large gap of time between them, they can have seperate Gyms and will be counted seperately in the rankings.

Sorry if i wasn't specific.

i think i am looking a little bit far into the future, but here it is...

after a while, it will be hard to find the posts where the gym leaders have their rules/clauses, prizes and such. sooner or later, i think that each gym leader should have a post (under those guidelines above this post) containing all of their gym's rules and whatnot. undertaker could then have links to those posts up on the first post for easy access by both the challengers and the gym leaders (for revising prizes, rules, winners and such)

good idea? or a bust?

I could set it up in the future. Now I just need to compile our rules, but most of them are mainly for our leaders. How can you set up a link by just using one word?

cant explain very well, so i just copy+paste...

Code:
Linking to another site
phpBB BBCode supports a number of ways of creating URIs, Uniform Resource Indicators better known as URLs.

    * The first of these uses the [url=][/url] tag; whatever you type after the = sign will cause the contents of that tag to act as a URL. For example, to link to phpBB.com you could use:

      [url=http://www.phpbb.com/]Visit phpBB![/url]

This would generate the following link, Visit phpBB! You will notice the link opens in a new window so the user can continue browsing the forums if they wish.
    * If you want the URL itself displayed as the link you can do this by simply using:

      [url]http://www.phpbb.com/[/url]

This would generate the following link: http://www.phpbb.com/
    * Additionally phpBB features something called Magic Linkswhich will turn any syntatically correct URL into a link without you needing to specify any tags or even the leading http://. For example typing www.phpbb.com into your message will automatically lead to www.phpbb.com being output when you view the message.
    * The same thing applies equally to email addresses; you can either specify an address explicitly, like:

      [email]no.one@domain.adr[/email]

which will output no.one@domain.adr or you can just type no.one@domain.adr into your message and it will be automatically converted when you view.

As with all the BBCode tags you can wrap URLs around any of the other tags such as [img][/img] (see next entry), [b][/b], etc. As with the formatting tags it is up to you to ensure the correct open and close order is following. For example:

[url=http://www.phpbb.com/][img]http://www.phpbb.com/images/phplogo.gif[/url][/img]

is not correct which may lead to your post being deleted so take care.

straight off the BBCode guide/faq... i can set this up for you in the future if you're still confused...
