idk if this is good, or if people already use this or what.

endure
endeavor
quick attack
powerful sweeping move such as EQ, aerial ace

so, endure after as much damage as possible. then endeavor. now U have 1 HP. possible outcomes:

1) they kill U on ur endeavor turn. so, U need to make sure Ur faster for this purpose, then at least ur switch in can finish the job

2)the turn U endeavor, they use this opp to boost stats, since it is only a 1HP left poke

obviously, U want 2, best case. cause then U use quick attack. they dead. repeat, if possible.

possible pokes:

swellow
sceptile
doudrio
hitmontop
raticate (yeah right)
staraptor

variations useing Ice shard, sucker punch (somtimes will fail)

IS SP
donphan kangaskahn

U prob want to invest in some speed just in case

No you didn't !!!
But just saying that it can only take one in the cost of it's life

well, that's the reason for the sweeper move:

donphan

ice shard
endure
endeavor
EQ

EQ and hopefully take out at least 1 before U have 2 result to Endure, endeavor, IS. for this set on him i would put max speed and atk, as well as a + atk or speed nature, pref. speed (lax?)

OKAY!!!! we have to stop with the quotes :D i mean, we pretty much quoted the whole post!

but adament? i would think jolly was better, seeing as how the NEED TO OUTSPEED is very great on donphan. ATK? not so much (120ATK>50SPD)

Dear god...

Right.

First off, Endeavour is a pretty crap move. In order for you to allow it to work effectively, you have to be on low HP. For that to happen, you need to first Endure the hit (or, as suggested, use a Focus Sash.) Imagine:

Quote:

Go Donphan!
Opponent sends out Starmie!

Donphan used Endure!
Starmie used Surf!
Donphan lost 99.99% of its health!
It endured the hit!

Turn 2

Starmie used Surf!
Donphan fainted!

OR

Quote:

Go Donphan!
Opponent sends out Starmie!

Starmie used Surf!
Donphan lost 99.99% of its health!
It hung on with its Focus Sash!
Donphan used Endeavour!
Starmie lost 99.99% of its health!

Turn 2

Donphan used Quick Attack!
Starmie fainted!

Turn 3

Opponent sends out Weavile/Dugtrio/Anything with either a faster speed stat or a priority move!

Opponent's Poke used attack!
Donphan fainted!

You see, with Endeavour, you're only ever going to get 1 Poke dead, and that's if you predict correctly.

A much better, and widely used set, is the EndRev combo. This is where a Pokemon has both Endure and Reversal, enduring a hit, activating a held item (salac berry) and then sweeping with Reversal (occaisionally STABbed)

The best user of this is Heracross. It has monstrous attack already, and Reversal is STABbed, making it a common Pokemon to use this.

I've actually seen a variation whereby the user had a Choice Scarf attached. It sort of went like this:

Quote:
Go Swellow!
Opponent sent out Heracross!

TURN 1

Heracross used Endure!
Swellow used Aerial Ace!
Heracross lost 99.99% of its health!
It endured the hit!

TURN 2

Player 1 switched out Swellow!
Go! Gengar!
Player 2 switched out Heracross!
Go, random Pokemon!

(Many turns later...)

Player 2 sent out Heracross!
Heracross used Reversal with his Choice Scarf, and Player 1 cannot stop it because it's too damn fast!

Player 1 lost!

What I did was, just after Turn 1, I expected a massively powerful Reversal, and switched out accordingly. However, he too switched out, and it didn't occur to me why. The reason was was actually his Heracross was holding a Choice Scarf, and he was able to later switch it in and sweep with Reversal. It was a clever technique, because my Gengar was unable to counter Hera effectively, because I'd already lost it in attetmpting to counter it in the first place!

So, the lesson of this rather long tale is:

REVERSAL > ENDEAVOUR

K? :P

or even

donphan used endure
starmie used surf (99.99% damage)

starmie come back...go gengar
donphan used endeavour.... it doesnt effect gengar.....

this is just a version of FEAR. and marriland wasnt the original creator of the idea. im not claiming i know who did invent it, but people have used it onnetbattle for ages. commonly on something fast like sceptile or swellow, and usually in conjunction with substitute (make sure you HP is 4n+1 and 4 subs will leave you with 1 hp). gotta watch out for sandstream - so donphan is ok in that respect, but he's so slow he probably wont pull it off.

heres another scenario with the focus sash.

starmie used surf (99.99% damage). donphan held on with its focus sash.
donphan used endeavour. brings starmie down to 1hp.

starmie come back. go (something else - just not a flying/dragon etc)
donphan used ice shard (<10% damage)

now what does he do? and as long as there arent spikes etc, the starmie can still come back and do something useful.

i think this "combo" comes under the category of cool tricks you can play on your friends if they havent heard about them, but wont work a second time. so unless you want to spend ages getting a pokemon with the right moves, EV train it, and then (maybe) KO one opponent and "impress" your friend, then i wouldnt bother putting this plan into action.

If you're gonna use any Endure combo your held item should be a Salac Berry.
That way your speed gets multiplied by 1.5 so that you will almost certainly attack 1st on the next turn, KO the enemy, and the next, and so on.

As previously stated, a modified FEAR set does not a good Donphan make. I love priority moves, but there was a topic about FEAR in the Shinnoh board once, and I remember Mr. Saturn mentioning all the things it completely failed to, like Ghost-types, Sandstream, Snow Warning, Leftovers, etc. Ice Shard won't have a problem with ghost-types obviously, but anything involving "1 HP left + Endeavor + quick-attack-move" is easily countered.

FEAR = "Freaking Evil Annoying Rodent"

Coined by the ever-coveted Marriland, who used that set against complete n00bs and of course, wrecked the house with it.

Why are you asking here? Go to the rating center.

This is the right place. It's not really a Rating he needs, its a Lecture in F.E.A.R that stands for Fecking Evil Anoying Rodent

Actually, undertaker asked for a swellow moveset, which belongs in the rating center. if he had attactched an idea to his request of a moveset, it wouldn't need to be in the rating center, but still should not be on this thread.

Yes, Jonatron, you are wrong. He isn't asking for a FEAR Swellow set; he was asking for any type of moveset.

Lol F.E.A.R.....

You should always carry a Ghost pokemon or something that can use Toxic/Will-o-wisp/Sandstorm Ect.

I think Rattata/The Sash is the best.

Yes, Ghett0, you are wrong as usual. He asked for a moveset, which he should open a new topic for. Rating center ain't a moveset giving out center, you tard. It's for rating movesets that already exist :/
