You might as well put rain dance and thunder, and if it's a water type, some other water move, for example, Lanturn could be

why is that? Thunder is a good move with Rain Dance.
but it should have Ice Beam, cause Rain Dance doesn't boost Blizzard's acc

What is with you? This was actually a fairly decent moveset here, other than blizzard (should be ice beam)...anyway, for your ampharos, get rid of fire punch and add some other special attack.

Best he's ever made, and it's still not that good.
For starters, lanturn's ability is volt absorb... held item should be lefties.
Rest for the last move. But Lanturn should NOT be a sweeper, more like a Thunder-dancer/special sponge. 252 HP, 128 Sp Def, 128 Sp Att. Watch out for EQ.

That's what it is; Thunder-dancer, and Brine to use in case thunder is not very effective. And Blizzard is for other electric types.

As in, both at the same time.
@Leftovers
Modest, 252 HP, 128 Sp Def, 128 Sp att
Rest
Rain Dance
Thunder
Surf
Your set can't take hits as well, as well as the fact that even with the speed EV's it can't outrun much.
My set can actually take a few hits, as well as live to thunderdance.

Oh, I thought you meant either. In that case:
@lefties
Modest | Volt Absorb
EVs : Sp Def 150, Def 150, 210 sp atk
Rain Dance
Thunder
Ice Beam or Blizzard (If you have the PP ups)
Aqua Ring
The problem with rest is it'll get utterly destroyed in the two turns it's asleep.

Don't make Lanturn a sweeper. It doesn't really have the speed for it. If you must, I'd go with a Rain Dance + STAB-boosted Surf instead of Ice Beam. If you have Rest you don't need Leftovers. Give it a Chesto or Lum Berry so that it wakes up right away. That way you come back right after the nap and hit them when they think they've got you.
Aqua Ring would work better in place of Rest if you put more EVs into both of the defenses and HP.

Thunderbolt 100%,thunder 70% accuracy unless you have rain dance. Then take thunder if you have rain. But i personal would take thunderbolt because thunder and rain dance take to much room,and take to long to active in battle. You can use two thunderbolt in the time it takes you to use your first thunder.

Glubisto has a good point here. The only reason I would use rain dance/ thunder is if i had a team that was based around rain dance. eg, i had say a volteon/ Kabutops/ some other pokemon that benefits from rain dance. the only one that is coming to mind right now is dewgong lol.

Thunderbolt unless you have rain dance wich you don't. Plus thunder is less accuracy then thunderbolt.Thunder has a bad chance of hitting with rain dance.

Gaara Of The Desert wrote: Thunder because it cause more power But it also has less accuracy (without Rain Dance)
Here's a simple formula I like to use.
Thunder has base power of 120 with 70 accuracy. 120 x .70 = 84
Thunderbolt has base power of 95 and 100 accuracy. 95 x 1.00 = 95
So Thunderbolt will average 11 more base damage than Thunder. I'd pick Thunderbolt unless you have a Rain Dancer on your team.
