I use 65 guys in total (call me sad I don't care. I breed most of them :P) and i use the best from all tiers and others that I think are cool. When i decided to get a Machamp I got it cos i thought it was cool. But Machamp is a freaking POWERHOUSE! I so didn't expect it! I have used Alakazam since RBY and it still is a powerhouse. Most of the tier lists i agree with but WTF MEDICHAM AND STARAPTOR OU? That's the bit I don't get.... I use them both and trust me they do NOT belong in OU!

Where do you see them as OU? Every list I see says they're BL? (Though I personally thing Medicham could very well be OU)

Just as an FYI {alakazam} {aerodactyl} {kingdra} {ninjask} {porygon-z} are now all OU's according to the great smogon >.>

Donphan was BL for one month on smogon too so you should add that to your list xD

Quit the BL, Smogon is playtesting nUU. (New UU) They fused BL and UU, and they have been testing it for couple of months now.

Post subject:  Re: D/P tiers

Well, that explains why I couldn't find a recent BL tier..... Are they just shaking up the vinaigrette that is BL/UU and skimming the pokes that come to the top into a new BL? or just making a mass tier that they know will be dominated by 20% of the said pokes?

Mmm I wish more variety were put into OU. I see alot of Sandstorm pokes [as in they do not take damage from it]

You are completely free to use BL and UU pokes in OU. If anything it's the most varied tier.

Seems the first of the new BL Limbo tier has come up

Abomasnow
Crobat
Froslass
Gallade
Raikou
Staraptor

If someone here who frequents smogon can give the full-in on how Limbo is differing from BL and all that good info I'd like that.

From what I understand, Limbo is going to be what those 6 (and any more that are too strong for UU that pop up) are going to be called. For the moment, those six will get their own suspect testing (like what is happening to Latios atm), similar to what happened with Garchomp in the whole "is it uber or OU" thing. If the suspects are believed to be too strong for UU, they will be kicked out and the process will repeat itself.

I'm surprised nobody has started whining about things like "baww Articuno and Entei aren't NU!"

So I'm just going to cut the whining off before it even starts: NU is just a name. It doesn't mean Articuno and Entei are useless. It just means that nobody used them in OU, so they fell to UU. Then, nobody used them in UU either, so they fell to NU. And there's even the prospect that Smogon will rename the current NU metagame into the "Rarely Used" metagame and split the true sucky Pokemon off in the "new" Neverused tier.

(Protip: metagame and tier aren't synonymous.)

Post subject:  Re: D/P tiers

The following pokemon should be tested together, to see if they balance out OU:
Deoxys-S
Garchomp
Latios
Manaphy

It is now being questioned as to whether Manaphy should have been marked uber to begin with.

Latios without Soul Dew is a frail sweeper.
Garchomp has more counters now with platinum, and is actually considered by some as inferior to Salamence with its Dragon Dance/Outrage/Roost/Filler - Sala can recover damage, lose an ice weakness for a turn, and then pounce right back up. The analysis itself even states that Sala's sets are not entirely counterable, even when you know the moves. This is why Garchy was banned. This is why Deoxys was banned. But at least Deoxys was counterable by a number of Pokemon (or at least scared).

If we unleash all but the most feared ubers, then it can be determined who is too powerful, who is not. Even if Garchomp is rebanned, Sala may very well be banned as well.

Yeah but they're just preventing from 2 people sending out Wobbuffet sice it learns no real moves and have that Shadow Tag ability. I mean really.. imagine 2 Wobbys fighting each other funny.. but dumb. Kinda like Ash Vs Samurai with their 2 Metapods.

Ash "Metapod HARDEN!"
Samurai "Metapod Harden back!"
Ash "Metapod EXTREME HARDNESS!!"

Not as bad as Ditto v Ditto, or 2 Smeargles that know only Sketch, or a battle with only Ditto(s) and Smeargle(s).

Ditto: Transform (into Smeargle)
Smeargle: Sketch (Transform)
Ditto: Sketch (transform)
Smeargle: Transform (into Ditto, possibly knowing Sketch or Transform???)

That would be weird.

By the way, Aggron is NOT NU! She's my partner on Emerald, and is my surfing pokemon!
P.S. "baww Articuno and Entei aren't NU!"

I agree, Charizard should be a OU not UU. He owns. XP

Yeah, having blah defenses and a horrible typing that eats 50% of Charizard's health from Stealth Rock really makes it OU-caliber.

Yeah, I forgot defense; Blaziken is a lot better in some ways, but it can't learn any dragon moves and isn't dragon-like.

Typhosion has the exact same stats as Charizard, Albet it's not fire/flying. However Charizard's better movepool and EQ/Spikes immunity makes up the difference.

*high-fives* Jhoto is so cool! Too bad there's not one that doesn't save on a bettery. My friend gave me Gold for my birthday last year and it doesn't save. I bet the secong gym leader last time I played it, man it's so easy to beat her in 3 hours of play. That's why I'm glad I got a Cyndaquil on Diamond.
Are all Fire-type beginners of the same stats? Blaziken is Fighting-type, so is infernape (but Blaziken can learn soe Flying moves, the more bird like, similar to Empoleon). I'd think Blaziken was better because of its second type.

i.e. Luxray, Houndoom, Lopunny

Not really, OU pokes are in general the strongest and/or have the best strategies. But UU and NU pokes do have their metrits and strengths.

The Fire user in the E4 on D/P uses a Lopunny, and it can pwn certain pokemon, despite its normal-type-ness. I use Luxray as a Main on Pearl, and Houndoom pwns because it's Fire-type AND dark, awesomeness, so it could pwn a grass-psychic pokemon any day (if they exist). I use a lot of UU and NU pokemon, too.

What does that have to do with ANYTHING?!?! in-game =/= competitive

In competitive play typing plays such a secondary role, what really matters in competitive play is raw stats and move pools, then typing comes into play after such consideration. I mean depending on which set each pokemon are using Infernape will always go before Houndoom due to a higher base speed, and Infernape will always crush Houndoom because of its higher speed and its access to Close Combat which is a 120 Base Power plus STAB plus Super Effective against Houndoom. As for the Psychic/Grass pokemon have you ever heard of {celebi}?
