Why have Body Slam or Return when I could have earthquake? STAB. Miltank is normal, so Body Slam and Return are both more powerful than Earthquake. |

point taken. I will go with body slam, as she will probably be traded often between my games, rendering return useless. Thanks v. much. Bluestrike |

Hey Here's my RSE team. Female @ Leftovers Bold | Volt Absorb ~ Attract ~ Confuse Ray ~ Thunder Wave ~ Surf In my opinion, this guy is probably the best annoyer I've ever seen. @ L Bold | Rain Dish ~ Rain Dance ~ Leech Seed ~ Giga Drain ~ Toxic @ L Bold | Serene Grace ~ Heal Bell ~ Seismic Toss ~ Softboiled ~ Ice Beam I just had to have her. She's the best. @ L Impish | Synchronize ~ Mean Look ~ Wish ~ Baton Pass ~ Toxic @ Salac Berry Jolly | Swarm ~ Substitute ~ Reversal ~ Megahorn ~ HP Flying/Rock Slide/Earthquake Not sure about the last move, but nonetheless, he and my Umbreon = Blissey killer. @ Leftovers Modest | Flash Fire ~ Crunch ~ FLamethrower ~ HP Grass ~ Pursuit Pursuit is for those evil Celebis who switch when they see a Houndoom. Hehe. Any suggestions? |

Rayquazard - just the rock slide. And possibly Calm Mind on Kygre (relearner in fallarbor) fizzmatic wrote: I'm new.
Here's my Emerald party: Rayquaza (lv .88) with Dragon Fang Lonely Fly Dragon Claw Hyper Beam Outrage Ugg, no. Outrage causes confusion. And you have another dragon move. Go with Dragon Dance, instead. Fly is a horrid move. Go with Aerial Ace. Hyper Beam is a guaranteed "waste a turn", so go with Return instead. Ampharos (lv. 50) with Magnet Modest Thunder Wave Thunder Bolt Light Scree Thunder Shock Go with brick break > Thunder shock. Not much else without tutors If you can go with tutors, Fire punch. Gardevoir (lv. 40) with Twistedspoon Calm Calm Mind Psychic Confusion Imprison T-bolt > Confusion, Hypnosis > Imprison. So you can power up safely. Latios (lv. 50) with Leftovers Naive Dragon Claw Ice Beam Luster Purge Psychic Calm Mind > Luster purge. T-bolt > Dragon Claw (bolt-beam has more coverage than claw-beam) Blaziken (lv.100) with Charcoal Impish Sky Uppercut Blaze Kick Slah Dig @Scope Lens, Focus Energy > Dig. Or, @Leftovers/shell bell, Flamethrower > Blaze Kick, Swords Dance > Slash, Rock Slide > Dig. Hits lots of types. Aggron (lv. 43) with King's Rock Relaxed Iron Tail Rock Smash Metal Claw Take Down Its got rock-head ability? Double Edge, EQ, Rock Slide, Return/T-wave/Metal Claw. I use Latios and Ampharos mainly in the Battle Frontier. They have won me two rounds at the battle tower, two rounds at the battle dome, one round at the battle palace and one round at the battle pike. This party normally wins me matches against my friends' partys. I'm extremely tired and busy. So, list rates Rayquazard: Latios: Calm Mind, Dragon Claw, Psychic, Safeguard. Or, T-bolt and ICe beam > Psychic and dragon claw. Flygon: Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Flamethrower (you want consistency), and Crunch. Or, EQ, Aerial Ace, Rock Slide, Quick Attack/Fire Blast. Special vs. Mixed/Physical sweeping. Aggron: EQ, Rock Slide, Double Edge, Metal Claw/T-wave/Brick Break. Really your choice. Remember, Rock Head ability. bushin - welcome back. Linoone: Sub-flail, not bad. Tempted to say endure, but whatever. Looks good. Blissey: No. Softboiled is an absolute must for Blissey. Softbolied, Aromatherapy, T-wave (paralysis support), and Seismic Toss. Dusclops: Very good. Ludicolo: I would like Dive > Surf, so you evade the attack that turn. Calm nature. Metagross: Very good. Try trading it to emerald, and use those berries. Gengar: Hypnosis/Substitute and Focus Punch > HP Dark and Snatch (you must have worked so hard for HP Dark). McIceGar is a god, trust me. Jynx: Calm Mind > Perish Song. Possible Substitute > Mean Look. Either Sub or Psychic. Though Luna is very nice. Modest nature, the few Def points won't help, sorry. Kyogre: Surf > Hydro Pump. @Lefties or Shell Bell. Don't lead with Linoone. too dangerous for you. Purple Summer: Blaziken: @Scope Lens, Focus Energy > Dig. Or, @Leftovers/shell bell, Flamethrower > Blaze Kick, Swords Dance > Slash, Rock Slide > Dig. Hits lots of types. Mightyenna: No. Poison Fang and Shadow Ball > Crunch and Rock Smash. Howl > Theif. Raichu: T-bolt, T-wave, HP Ice/Grass, Substitute. Make it a Pikachu @Lightball, better special attack, which is what matters. You could try T-wave, Sweet Kiss, Attract, and T-wave as an annoyer. Swellow: Aerial Ace, Return, Facade, Steel Wing. @Choice Band. CB + Guts + Status + Facade = INSTANT DEATH MACHINE!!!! Azumarill: Huge Power Ability. Defense Curl, Rollout, Substitute, Focus Punch. Curl up just before rollout (increases power), Sub-punch is proven. the davebabe: Lanturn: Good. Calm Nature Would be better, though. Don't change the moves. Ludicolo: Dive > Giga Drain. 5 PP (8 after pp ups) isn't enough. Not for this one that will stay. Blissey: Looks good. Umbreon: I'd go with Double Team > Toxic or Baton Pass. If you get rid of baton pass, you will have more staying power as a toxi-trapper. If you get rid of toxic, you can fend off pseudo-hazers. Personally, I'd go with > Baton Pass. Heracross: Swords Dance > Last spot, endure > substitute. Substitute won't really do much, ans you will be instantly dispersed. Swords Dance, then when there's a big hit, endure, and reverse. Houndoom: You won't be pursuiting Celebis, only exeggcutors. I'd go with Sunny Day + Solar Beam > HP Grass + Pursuit. Efficient Killer that has remained since GSC. |

thanks for the comments, but ive decided to change my team a bit after playing on netbattle. i gave lanturn bold an maxed is def EVs so he can survive more EQs. my stragety is to inflict as many status ailments as possible, so as to bring out their blissey if they have one. then ill switch in umbreon, mean look, and pass to heracross. ive tried using dugtrio with his arena trap but his attack is too low. there r a cuple of things i think i still need, a physical sponge, a spiker and a spinner. suggestions? |

This is my current team from LG: - Naive - Magical Leaf - Sludge Bomb (I ditched H.P. due its very low base power) - Synthesis - Sleep Powder - Modest - Surf - Ice Beam - Thunderbolt - Recover - Quirky - Psychic - Shadow Ball - Will-o-Wisp - Mean Look - Adamant - Brick Break - Earthquake - Rock Slide - Aerial Ace - Modest - Thunderbolt - Flamethrower - Dragon Claw - Thunder Wave - Careful - Earthquake - Spikes - Rapid Spin - Explosion Why Naive? Venusaur has the excuse for being shiny hehe. I am not sure about the moveset for Dragonite. It has a wide movepool, but Starmie and Tyranitar have covered pretty much most of it, so I don't know what moves to teach it apart from Flamethrower, Dragon Claw and Thunder Wave. Is there a better alternative than Thunderbolt? Thanks |

Wow, I haven't been here for a LOOOOONNGGG time. Not a lot's happened, I see. Only one page. Anyways, I've been rethinking my BF team, due to the fact that two of my members ({swampert} and ) had quadruple weaknesses, which were often taken advantage of. So, this is what I thought up. Note: This is PKMN Emerald, but I have Chansey, Larvitar, Mantine, Misdreavus, Squirtle, Charizard, Ivysaur, Chikorita and Eevee from a bit of trading from Leaf Green and Colosseum. I also have most of the common TMs (A-ace, EQ, etc.) and all stones besides Sun Stone. All PKMN will be LV. 50. Adamant @ Lum/Shell Bell? 20 HP, 252 Atk, 48 Def, 48 Sp. Def, 140 Spd Dragon Dance Earthquake Brick Break Aerial Ace Physical Sweeper Modest @ Leftovers 124 HP, 100 Def, 176 Sp. Atk, 56 Sp. Def, 52 Spd Surf Ice Beam Bite Wish Special Sweeper/ (Special) Tank Modest @ ??? (There wasn't anything in the Psydex for this moveset, so I guess) 252 sp. atk, 252 spd, 6 def EDIT: Ok, I found better EVs: 252 spd, 224 sp. atk, 32 Sp. Def Psychic Will-o-wisp EDIT: Because of my new EVs, I'm replacing with Calm Mind. Thunderbolt Fire Punch Special Sweeper/Speical Tank Using the moves above I can cover every single type. However, I wanna make a full party including these PKMN, so what PKMN would you suggest? Here are some hints to what I'm thinking about for the last 3: -no more than 1 physical wall -no more than 1 special sweeper -1 physical sweeper -annoyers, drainers, toxi-trappers, toxi-tanks welcome but no more than 2 -no more than 1 special wall -no baton passers or sub-ers -1 Electric type -no 4x weaknesses -only one pokémon to share another's weakness -1 Pokémon that can utilize a dark damaging move -no more than 1 ghost type Yeah, I know I sound picky but I'm trying to be <s>paranoid</s> careful, I've failed 3 teams. Thanks in advance. p.s. How do you do strikethrough? If I already did above, ignore this. Mod Edit: Like So. Code: <s>paranoid</s> -JsX™ |

PurpleSummer - Not really. Azumarill has a very shallow move pool. redt wrote: RATE ME PLEASE!
Salamence lvl.59-Exp.Share Dragon claw Fly Dragon dance Aerial ace You have aerial ace - why fly? Also, if this is physical salamence, why dragon claw? EQ + Rock Slide > Dragon Claw + Fly. Sceptile lvl.71-Miracle Seed Leaf blade Dragon claw Secret power Solarbeam Leaf Blade does more than solar beam per turn. Secret Power is physical. Crunch > Secret Power, T-punch/Leech Seed > Solar beam. @Leftovers/Lum Berry. Latios lvl.71-Soul Dew Thunder Luster purge Psychic Dragonbreath Calm Mind > Luster Purge. Kyogre in front. Good work with Soul Dew. Kyogre lvl.83-Mystic water Hydro pump Waterfall Water spout Surf Surf is enough. Then go with Ice Beam, Thunder, and Calm Mind. That is Ky00ber, don't tamper unless you know what you are doing. Groudon lvl.84-Amulet Coin Fire blast Eruption Earthquake Solarbeam Atk stat > Sp.Atk stat. Swords Dance, EQ, Rock Slide, Flamethrower (skarmory/forretress)/Aerial Ace (Grasses, Fighters). @Leftovers. Raquaza lvl.83-Perism Berry Fly Hyper beam Outrage Crunch @Leftovers. T-bolt, Ice Beam, Earthquake, Crunch. Hits alot super effectively. the davebabe - 1.) Dugtrio has very good attack. I don't know what you are talking about. Maybe you have bad DVs? Adamant is the preffered nature. 2.) Spiker, Spinner, Physical Sponge - Forretress is good. I will now do this the quick way - no quotes: Wai Venusaur: Curse > Razor Leaf, maybe leech seed > synthesis? otherwise, you're good. Starmie: Good, no changes. Gengar: Not a defensive pokemon, trust me. Mean Look + W-o-W, and then die. Won't survive. T-bolt, Psyhchic are good. Put on ice punch and giga drain/confuse-ray in the last spots. T-tar: Good. Dragonite: Good Special-nite. Maybe ice beam > t-bolt? Forretress: Try to get impish nature, please. meganiumaster Regice: You will do more damage with t-bolt and t-wave > lock-on + zap cannon. Psych-Up > Amnesia (maybe catch a calm mind?). Calm Nature is preffered, with no Sp.Def EVs - only in Sp.Attack and Phys.Def. Tyranitar: Dragon Dance > Screech, so you boost your attack and speed. Aerial Ace > Crunch, keep it physical. Impish is +Def, -Sp.Atk, Adamant is +Atk, -Sp.Atk. Rayquaza - Extremespeed is definate. Dragon Dance and Aerial Ace are good. Go with earthquake or brick break for rock and steels. Jolly (+Speed, -Sp.Atk) or Adamant nature. NO OUTRAGE - DRAGON CLAW WOULD BE BETTER Celebi - Calm Mind in the last spot. Baton Pass > Leech Seed/Psychic.. Groudon: Adamnt, not quirky is prefferable. Aerial Ace/Brick Break/Fire Blast > T-bolt. Blaziken: Let me tell you from experience - it is a horrible sup-puncher. Swords Dance > Bulk Up. Rock Slide > Substitute (Flyers). Sky Uppercut > Focus Punch TheKid Blastoise: Skull Bash > Water Pulse. Ice Beam > Hydro Cannon. Modest would have been better, but docile's okay. Pidgeot: Switch to dodrio, it will save you a lot. Alakazam: Reflect > Psybeam, Calm Mind > Future Sight. You need to stick around, so reflect is in there. Calm Mind pumps you up. Snorlax: Shadow Ball > Snore. So you deal with agatha a bit more. Dragonite: T-bolt, Ice Beam, Flamethrower/Fire Blast, Dragon Claw. T-wave could go in somewhere. More within an hour ChampionWallace Tentacruel: Timid, 128 Speed, 128 Sp.Atk. Azumarill: Defense Curl + Rollout > Rest + Iron Tail. Hit flyers too. Swampert: Looks good, @Leftovers, though. Not really sassy: Impish (+Def), Careful (+SpDef), or Adamant (+Atk) Milotic: Rest + Sleep Tallkl > Recover + Dragon Breath. STalking allows you to take advantage of Marvel Scale. Dragon Breath doesn't take on too many types (just dragon). Latios: Starf is better, I think. Is Starf the one that raises 2 random stats, or the critical hit ratio? If its th 2-stat one, go with it. Or leftovers Metagross: @Leftovers, Adamant nature. Fine otherwise. Registeel: Looks good. @Lefotvers. Borador Salamence: Aerial Ace > Fly. Dragon Dance > Dragon Claw. Rock Slide > Dragonbreath. Keep it physical. Blaziken: Sky Uppercut > Double Kick. More power. Focus Energy > Flamethrower, (critiken) or rock slide > slash and bulk up > blaze kick. (normal) Kadabra: Evolve to alakazam please. Psychic is good, Shadow ball is based on physical attack, so no, psybeam is just an inferior psychic. Recover, and two of the following instead: Calm Mind, Thunderpunch, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Reflect. Calm mind to power up, elemental punches for more versatility, Reflect for staying. Sharpedo: EQ > Slash. Much more powerful. Raichu: T-bolt is good. T-wave > shock wave (will you use shock wave with the superior t-bolt?), Attract > Thunder (too inaccurate), Sweet Kiss > Slam, for confusion. Great annoyer. Persian: Return/Body Slam, Shadow Ball, Screech, and hypnosis is the standard. Just replace sharpedo witha walrein. Thats all I can think of. elite42 Salamence: @Shell Bell. Vaporeon: Acid Armor > Bite, for the defense boost. Pull the EVs out of defense and put into Sp. def. Gardevoir: Ice Punch > Fire punch (mini bolt-beam) Skarmory (Spiker, Physical Wall) Houndoom (Crunch, Sunnybeam) Lanturn: T-wave, Confuse Ray, Attract, t-bolt btw, salamence has a 4x ice weakness. Sum_1 Tyranitar: Aerial Ace/Brick Break > Crunch. EQ needs to be there. Skarmory: T-bolt? T-BOLT?????? I thought you were smart enough to realize skarms has as horrid Sp.Atk. Anyway, Breed for Drill Peck > Steel wing, keep spikes, keep toxic, keep steel wing. Mewtwo: Looks good. |

Wai wrote: {forretress} - Careful
- Earthquake - Spikes - Rapid Spin - Explosion I've just got some questions regarding my Forretress. Is a fire attack likely to kill Forretress even if I give it 252 EVs to its Sp. Defence? It is bound to attack last (the DV calculator said it had a DV of 0 or 1 for speed), but all other stats have DVs above 23. I was planning to even out both its HP and Defence stats as 309 with a max Sp. Defence stat of 227. I'm just curious why people really max out its Defence even though it's already very high, but don't put much emphasis on Sp. Defence to help it resist other special attacks such as water or electric (not just fire). Or, have people using Forretress experienced mostly physical attacks against it, and therefore max out the Defence stat? I was thinking about it this way, with the exception of Attack and Sp. Attack and also Speed in this case (since it sucks anyway). If you were good at English and Chemistry at school, you wouldn't just study English and Chemistry and leave your other subjects behind. Wouldn't it be better to try balance them out a little? I've also considered giving it Toxic, but most people recommend the standard moveset I've got. What do you guys think? |

(Still training) Careful Nature Bite Double Edge Fly Ancient Power OK use Earth Quake for Bite, Steel Wing for D-Edge, and Aerial Ace for Fly. Careful Nature Wing Attack Ice Beam Dragon Claw Earthquake Seems ok for mixed sweeping. P.S. I am also trying to build a team using only Pokemon revived from fossils if any one knows any movesets and what not can you tell me and a final Pokemon to go with that team seeing as there are only 5 Fossil Pokemon that are available in FR and RS. No. Why because all fossil Pokemon have one same type in common and that is Rock, thus not really giving you much type coverage. |

Quote: TheKid Blastoise: Skull Bash > Water Pulse. T-wave could go in somewhere. lol haven't done this in a long time. Thanks Peanut-Lover but I sorta read this late. This is my team now though: Docile Nature Surf Water Pulse Hydro Cannon Skull Bash Surf is the only move that has to stay. Replace Water Pulse with Earth Quake. Then use Ice Beam for SK Bash, last move could be Rest for H-Cannon. Item should be @Chesto Berry. Quiet Nature Psychic Psybeam Shadowball Recover First of all evolve please. Thunder Punch for Psybeam and Fire or Ice Punch for Shadow Ball. Timid Nature Spark Thunderbolt Crunch Quick Attack Reflect for Quick Attack, and Light Screen for Spark. 50. Adamant @ <s>Lum</s>/Shell Bell? 20 HP, 252 Atk, 48 Def, 48 Sp. Def, 140 Spd Dragon Dance Earthquake Brick Break Aerial Ace Physical Sweeper Modest @ Leftovers 124 HP, 100 Def, 176 Sp. Atk, 56 Sp. Def, 52 Spd Surf Ice Beam <s>Bite</s> Acid Armour Wish Special Sweeper/ (Special) Tank Modest @ ??? (There wasn't anything in the Psydex for this moveset, so I guess) <s>252 sp. atk, 252 spd, 6 def</s> 252 spd, 224 sp. atk, 32 Sp. Def Psychic <s>Will-o-wisp</s> Calm Mind Thunderbolt <s>Fire Punch</s> Ice Punch Special Sweeper/Speical Tank Using the moves above I can cover every single type. However, I wanna make a full party including these PKMN, so what PKMN would you suggest? Well anyways, I completely disobeyed the previous rate because I thought something up myself. I also ignored my previous intentions. Thought it would be semi-helpful, the above are just for reference and do not NEED to be full-rated, only for overall versatility. So here's the rest (note they are also lv 50): Adamant @ CB EVs: 252 atk, 252 spd, 6 sp. def Meteor Mash Earthquake Sludge Bomb Shadow Ball/Rock Slide/??? Classic CBgross Jolly @ Sitrus (I don't see a way to get Salac, so this is to survive longer) EVs: 44 hp, 180 atk, 8 def, 8 sp. def, 252 spd Swords Dance Baton Pass Aerial Ace Rock Slide Physical Sweeper/Baton Passer NOTE: You can choose the PKMN you want to Baton Pass to, right? Adamant @ Lum/SB EVs: 132 atk, 124 sp. atk, 252 spd Swords Dance Fire Blast Aerial Ace Earthquake Physical Sweeper with Fire Blast for back-up NOTE: I'm not sure if the Attack EVs are still necessary since Swords Dance doubles my attack. Please rate the three as well as overall versatility of all 6. Thx in advance. |
