OK Maxximus your not a rater. You're suggested movesets are also awful as well. Even and inexperienced player should know that putting Thunder Punch on an Aggron is a dumb idea.

Anyways aside from that I should get going on these rates.

Quote:

{suicune} Suicune Level 80 @ Leftovers
• Rain Dance
• Ice Beam
• Calm Mind

Good moveset. You could use Roar instead of Rain Dance to swap out any threats Suicune may face.

{dugtrio} Dugtrio Level 79
• Rock Slide
• Earthquake
• Aerial Ace
• ?

Give Dugtrio Choice Band and for the last move that can be Return or Double-Edge

{espeon} Espeon Level 79
• Psychic
• Morning Sun
• Psych Up
• Calm Mind

Give Espeon a Lum Berry, and use a Special Type of Hidden Power instead of Psych Up or Calm Mind.

{dragonite} Dragonite Level 80 @ Lum Berry
• Surf
• Thunder (I switched from TBolt)
• Aerial Ace
• Earthquake

Use Thunder Bolt, Dragon Claw, or Flame Thrower instead of Thunder.

{aggron} Aggron Level 80 @ Leftovers

• Aerial Ace
• Earthquake
• Double Edge

If Aggron has Rock Head keep Double-Edge. If not use Rock Slide instead.

But the three I use primarily are Aggron, Suicune and Dragonite...training a Blissey too :D Thanks for helping!

{crobat}
Nature: Jolly
EV Spread: 4 HP / 252 Att / 252 Spd
Moves: Shadow Ball / Aerial Ace / Sludge Bomb / ???
For the final move, I have Screech or Confuse Ray in mind, but I'm not sure which would work better, or if I should use something else entirely.

{rhydon}
Nature: Adamant
EV Spread: 4 HP / 252 Att / 252 Def
Moves: Earthquake / Double-edge (Rock Head) / Megahorn / Brick Break
I think this might work a little better with a stat-boosting move (pretty sure I still have access to Swords Dance), but I don't know what I would replace.

{kingdra}
Nature: Modest
EV Spread: 4 HP / 252 SA / 252 Spd
Moves: Surf / Rain Dance / Ice Beam / Rest
I think this works pretty well. Rain Dance, along with STAB, will give x2.25 to Surf, and x2 to Kingdra's speed with Swift Swim. Oh, and are speed EVs necessary if I have Swift Swim?

{tyranitar}
Nature: Naughty
EV Spread: 4 HP / 252 Att / 252 Spd
Moves: Crunch / Earthquake / Rock Slide / Dragon Dance
I know that I'm after this particular moveset, but I don't know about the nature or EVs. I'm on LeafGreen so I can't breed for IVs, and Tyranitar could be in for a very short time with low HP/Def/SD IVs.

{lanturn}
Nature: Modest
EV Spread: 252 HP / 129 SA / 129 Spd
Moves: Thunder Wave / Confuse Ray / Surf / Ice Beam
I think the EVs could use some modification on this one, and I'm debating over using Thunderbolt versus Surf. Lanturn's weaknesses are grass and ground, both of which are weak to Ice Beam, so this decision is purely offensive.

{charizard}
Nature: Mild (is Lonely better for a mixed sweeper?)
EV Spread: 104 Att / 152 Sp Att / 252 Spd
Moves: Flamethrower / Dragon Claw / Earthquake / Dragon Dance
The main thing I'm debating here is Dragon Claw... I could probably get something a little better with more coverage, or another physical move to compliment DD. Possibly Rock Slide, to take care of Flying-types. Might want to change Earthquake as well since I don't have a TM and it'd be a pain to get. I also don't know if I would want to put some more EVs on attack rather than sp. attack, since Charizard's got a better base stat in sp. attack.

Thanks in advance to whoever ends up rating this.

I think I may have to go buy Emerald... could use some TM doubles and breeding is a pain on LG.

Edit: My Larvitar's IVs are HP 8-9 / Att 17-19 / Def 23-24 / SA 30-31 / SD 18-19 / Spd 31, with Naughty nature. Is the HP too low?

Hey guys!
I'm on Emerald, and I'm trying to set a good team for Frontier... I think my first 5 pokes are pretty decent, but I need a 6th one! I don't have access to other games and cannot trade, so everything has to be from in-game. Heh.

{swampert} Swampert
--Gentle | Torrent--
Surf
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Protect

{gardevoir} Gradevoir
--Timid | Trace--
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Ice Punch
Calm Mind

{crobat} Crobat
--Jolly | Inner Focus--
Sludge Bomb
Air Cutter
Bite
Confuse Ray

{dusclops} Dusclops
--Sassy | Pressure--
Toxic
Curse
Mean Look
Shadow Punch

{heracross} Heracross
--Naive | Guts--
Brick Break
Megahorn
Rock Slide
Counter

{???}
Any idea for the 6th one?

Thank you so much!

The fronteir team does look good...overall...

Swampert cannot be gentle - Sassy or Relaxed. Gentle lowers one of the defenses to support another, not something he'll be able to use. Consider breeding.

Gardevoir - You're not going to have Ice Punch right off the bat - your best bet is to have Hypnosis on there temporarily. Remember, you pay for the tutors.

Crobat - Bite is not good. You'll want shadow ball on there instead. Or HP Ground, if you can manage it (wipe out the evs, after checking its typing - if its not ground, don't bother).

Dusclops - Between Curse, and the damage it'll be taking from everything else, some healing move might be needed. Rest, Pain Split - either one is okay. Nature should be impish or careful, but sassy is okay.

Heracross - try to rebreed, this time for a Jolly or Adamant nature. Heracross could run Rest / Sleep Talk for kicking Guts into play and staying alive. Brick Break and either Megahorn (STAB) or Rock Slide (consistency, different coverage) would be fine. That is, if you are willing to spend TMs.

The last one - you need a better Special sweeper than Gardy - Starmie is good, with Surf, T-bolt, Psychic, Ice beam. Alakazam and Gengar are also good - Alakazam has better speed but sacrifices base power of moves. Gengar is fast, has Hypnosis, and a decent Ground / Normal immunity. Cacturne, (shocker, I know) has decent usefulness countering ground types, and some Psychics with Needle arm and Faint Attack.
GPMence (Dragon Dance, Flamethrower, Dragon Claw, Aerial Ace / Earthquake / Some Physical move) tears through a decent number of pokemon, and has Intimidate for some more survivability. If you have access to FRLG, there are a few others to reccomend, like Blissey and Lapras, to an extent.

PsyBuster, I don't know if it is really good, but try to catch a {miltank} for the Pike and Pyramid challenges, with
Heal Bell
Milk Drink
{you choose}
{you choose}

And how is my team?

{skarmory} Skarmory holding Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 HP, 128 Atk, 128 SD
-Drill Peck
-Toxic
-Roar
-Spikes

Ability: Swarm
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd

-Rock Slide
-Earthquake

{jynx}Jynx holding Leftovers
Ability: Oblivious
Nature: Bashful
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd
-Ice Beam
-Psychic
-Mean Look
-Perish Song

{blissey} Blissey holding Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Sassy
EVs: 252 HP, 128 Def, 128 SD

-Softboiled
-Flamethrower
-Counter

{magcargo} Magcargo holding Chesto Berry
Ability: Flame Body
Nature: Docile
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SA

{ludicolo} Ludicolo holding Leftovers
Ability: Rain Dish
Nature: Quiet
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Def, 252 SA
-Rain Dance
-Leech Seed
-Giga Drain
-Surf

Where am I going to use my team?
Competitive battling and Battle Frontier

How do I'll use my team?
Skarmory is a Toxic-Shuffler, so it'll do it's job until faints. Then I use one of my Sponges (yeah, that's why Magcargo is there: it's a good physical sponge that is good on lots of my weaknesses) until some of the opponent's Pokemon faints by the Toxic. If it's good enough, I'll use Heracross for lots of damage with it's CB Megahorn. If the other is a good tank, I'll use Ludicolo for it's good combination of Drainer+Special Sweeper. If I can't think on anything better, Jynx go being Special Sweeper or it uses that :censored: combo of Mean Look+Perish Song. Other than this, there are lots of other possibilities for this team.

Good moveset! You can use Rest instead of Toxic if you want a healing move for Skarmory.

You can move some of those EV's into some defense stats so that Jynx can stay around longer to pull off the Mean Look and Perish Song combo.

{blissey} Blissey holding Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Sassy
EVs: 252 HP, 128 Def, 128 SD

T-Wave or Seismic Toss instead of Flame Thrower or Counter.

{magcargo} Magcargo holding Chesto Berry
Ability: Flame Body
Nature: Docile
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SA
-Reflect
-Flamethrower
-Acid Armor
-Rest

A Magcarogo huh? I wouldn't suggest using it because of all of the weaknesses it gets from being a Fire/Rock type. Use Suicune. It has better defenses and can hold it's on in a battle.

{ludicolo} Ludicolo holding Leftovers
Ability: Rain Dish
Nature: Quiet
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Def, 252 SA

Good.

Hey peeps
I'm new on here, and started Leafgreen after a looooong time of not playing. :P I don't have access to any other games, so I cannot trade... sigh. And I don't think I'll ever find anyone to trade with, so I guess I'll stick with non-trade evolutions...

BTW, I still need to beat the Elite Four...

{charizard} Blaze - Serious
Flamethrower
Aerial Ace
Dragon Claw
Protect

{starmie} Natural Cure - Modest
Surf
Psychic
Ice Beam
Recover

{magneton} Sturdy - Timid
Thunder
Rain Dance
Supersonic
Thunder Wave

{aerodactyl} Rock Head - Adamant
Double Edge
Ancientpower
Wing Attack
Earthquake

{muk} Sticky Hold - Adamant
Sludge Bomb
Brick Break
Screech
Minimize

{chansey} Natural Cure - Impish
Toxic

Softboiled
Attract

Thanks!!

Hey everyone. I recently finished training 3 Pokes on my Leafgreen, and I don't wanna rebreed them unless I have to for an important move. I can trade with any game, just pointing out.

{alakazam} Modest @ Not sure yet
EVs: 252 SpAtk, 252 Speed 4 Defense
Psychic
Calm Mind
Recover
Reflect (Not sure what to put here, Prolly change to Shadow Ball down the line)

{snorlax} Adamant @ Lefties
Evs: 252 Defense 252 SpDf 4 Attack
Body Slam
Rest
Belly Drum
Earthquake

I may make Body Slam Return, and Earthquake isn't there yet, but I figure it works. I was thinking Shadow Ball, but it's SpAtk is trash isn't it? And i figure EQ will take advantage of the Belly Drum better.

{beedrill} Jolly @ ???
Sludge Bomb
Agility
Twinneedle
?

(I know a decent Beedrill set is kinda hard, but I wanna use it against some friends mostly because it's my only Shiny :o )

Thanks for the help

{charizard} Blaze - Serious
Flamethrower
Aerial Ace
Dragon Claw
Protect

Use Brick Break instead of Protect.

{starmie} Natural Cure - Modest
Surf
Psychic
Ice Beam
Recover

Thunder Bolt "could" be used instead of Recover. Otherwise this is a good moveset.

{magneton} Sturdy - Timid
Thunder
Rain Dance
Supersonic
Thunder Wave

Nice annoyer moveset you have. Hidden Power Water could be used instead of Thunder Wave or you can keep this set.

{aerodactyl} Rock Head - Adamant
Double Edge
Ancientpower
Wing Attack
Earthquake

Because you already used your Aerial Ace TM on Charizard this is good. If possible use Hidden Power Flying instead of Wing Attack. Use Choice Band on Aerodactyl.

{muk} Sticky Hold - Adamant
Sludge Bomb
Brick Break
Screech
Minimize

Use Explosion instead of Minimize. Leftovers as item.

{chansey} Natural Cure - Impish
Toxic
Double Team
Softboiled
Attract

Unless you plan on evolving Chansey, use a different Pokemon. Snorlax is a good choice.

Thanks!!

Sorry to tell you this but you should re-breed. Breeding a Hitmonchan with Fire/Ice/Thunder Punch onto a Alakazam would be better. If you have Emerald though you can just remove Reflect and Calm Mind for Thunder and Ice Punches.

{snorlax} Adamant @ Lefties
Evs: 252 Defense 252 SpDf 4 Attack
Body Slam
Rest
Belly Drum
Earthquake

I may make Body Slam Return, and Earthquake isn't there yet, but I figure it works. I was thinking Shadow Ball, but it's SpAtk is trash isn't it? And i figure EQ will take advantage of the Belly Drum better.

Actually Shadow Ball runs off of the Attack Stat in GSC, RSE, and FRLG. So Shadow Ball is a good idea. Use Return instead of Body Slam because even if you can get Paralysis Snorlax won't be outspeeding anything. Or Shadow Ball could be used as Ghost Type Pokemon like Gengar will wall your Snorlax for sure if there Shadow Ball isn't used.

{beedrill} Jolly @ ???
Sludge Bomb
Agility
Twinneedle
?

(I know a decent Beedrill set is kinda hard, but I wanna use it against some friends mostly because it's my only Shiny :o )

I wouldn't even recommend using Beedrill at all. It's too frail and had a small moveset. Use Heracross or Scizor instead. Or even Pinsir. But if you still want to use Beedrill then use Sludge Bomb, Twin Needle, Swords Dance, and Brick Break.

Thanks for the help

Thanks, for some reason I totally forgot about the punches, must be because of the change in D/P.
With the Alakazam set though, what Item should I use?

Totally forgot the Snorlax would be walled without Shadow Ball, and/or forgot about it being Physical.

I figured that Beedrill set, because its standard, same question, what item?

Thanks Pokemaniac :D

For Alakazam use Lum Berry. If you get Status problem on you not only can you recover from it but it also gets passed back because of Synchronize. As for Beedrill the item I would recommend would be Shell Bell or Leftovers. With Swords Dance + Shell Bell you can recover lots of lots HP, while with Leftovers you just recover health but only about 20 or so points.

Hi guys. Can anyone tell me a team with which theyve won 50 battles in a row at battle tower in ruby? I cant trade and i dont have the tm toxic (must have used it before i cant remember). This is my current team that lost out at 48 wins. Ive been kicked out by water pokemon many times before which is why i gave latios a magnet and taught registeel zap cannon. im also weak against poison so i need some tips on that aspect.

Latios Magnet
Recover
Surf
Dragon Claw
Thunderbolt

Heracross Choice band
counter
brick break
horn attack
reversal

Registeel Leftovers
Iron Defense
Amnesia
Focus Punch
Zap Cannon

Wow who woulda thought there was one of things... this is pretty awesome
Anyways, I've had Leaf Green for a few years, and after just under 150hrs of play (Breeding, EV Training, etc.) I have what I hope is a pretty good team. Unfortunately, I don't have too many places to test it out on, so I really don't know how it would do in an actual battle (Elite Four is child's play by now) All my guys are at level 100, and are fully EV Trained. You think you could take a look at them for me? (PS: I have two Zapdos and Suicune in my team; does having two legendary pkmn on my team hurt my credibility if I actually played against others?) Thanks.

{primeape} Vital Spirit/Blackbelt
HP 247 Attk 300 Def 171 SpA 118 SpD 169 Speed 264
Cross Chop
Reversal
Hidden Pwr (Ghost)
Bulk Up
Notes: Should I change Hidden Pwr? The type is good but im pretty sure the attk power isn't that hot.

{umbreon} Synchronize/Leftovers
HP 348 Attk 149 Def 266 SpA 174 SpD 301 Speed 185
Faint Attack
Psychic
Moonlight
Sand Attack

{marowak} LightningRod/Thick Club
HP 262 Attk 252(x2) Def 228 SpA 145 SpD 170 Speed 168
Earthquake
Headbutt
Flamethrower
Toxic
Notes: Should I switch Headbutt to DoubleEdge? I really wish I had Rock Head for it, but I didn't want to breed another 10 Cubones for one with good IV's AND Rock Head.

{ninetales} FlashFire/Charcoal
HP 304 Attk 174 Def 198 SpA 215 SpD 251 Speed 231
Flamethrower
Confuse Ray
Hidden Power (Grass)
Safeguard
Notes: This was the only pure Fire type I could find besides Magmar and Ponyta. I would use Charizard but multiple Pokemon with the same type make me nervous and Charizard has way too many weaknesses (ex. Rock). Do I have the wrong mindset?

{suicune} Pressure/Leftovers
HP 398 Attk 160 Def 235 SpA 200 SpD 275 Speed 184
Surf
Ice Beam
Mirror Coat
Calm Mind

{zapdos} Pressure/Shell Bell
HP 326 Attk 221 Def 215 SpA 275 SpD 216 Speed 235
Thunderbolt
Drill Peck
Steel Wind
Thunderwave

I'm also wondering if Primeape or Zapdos should come first in my team; both have good speed, but statistically speaking, what pokemon type USUALLY comes out first in an enemy party and which would be best to lead my team?
Also looking at 4 more members to have a variable team of ten to mix and match; two with 2-5 move K/O's (Articuno w/ MindReader and Sheer Cold, Misdrevous w/ Mean Look and Perish Song) and maybe a Beldum and a Lanturn. Thoughts?

Thanks a bunch guys,
Motz

Changed my team, because I don`t wanna use legendaries (Mewtwo) and I tyranitar`s 4x weaknesses kinda make it difficult.

{tyranitar} @ (whats best held item for his moveset?)
Still breeding for a good nature
252 Atk 252 Spd
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Brick Break
Rock Slide

{jynx} @ twisted spoon/nevermeltice (which one please)
Mild Nature
252 SA 252 SPD
Psychic
Ice Beam
Calm Mind
Lovely Kiss

{electabuzz} @ magnet
Not sure on nature, still breeding
252 SA, 252 SPD
Thunderbolt
Ice Punch
Cross Chop
Thunder Wave

{arcanine} @ charcoal
Not sure on nature still breeding
252 SA, 252 SPD
Flamethrower
Sunny Day
Fire Blast
Earthquake

Not sure on last 2 spots, do I need another sweeper or 2 walls?

I'm thinking maybe a blissey or snorlax, or maybe a parattracter?

Here's my team from Emerald. I only play in the main game, so I don't need really competetive movesets.

{swampert} (female)
Timid | Torrent
Surf
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Rest

Moveset is okay. It isn't the greatest but certainly isn't awesome either, and the nature isn't to good. You could just hatch Mudkip eggs until you get one with a Sassy, Brave, or Adamant nature if you want to. If not use Chesto Berry as the item.

{aggron} (female)
Careful | Sturdy
Metal Claw
Thunderbolt
Aerial Ace
Rock Tomb

Iron Tail and Earth Quake instead of Metal Claw and Thunder Bolt.

{flygon} (male)
Rash | Levitate
Dragon Claw
Crunch
Earthquake
Flamethrower

Fine.

{metagross}
Modest | Clear Body
Psychic
Metal Claw
Shadow Ball
Brick Break

Use Sludge Bomb, Meteor Mash and Explosion instead of Metal Claw, Psychic and Brick Break.

{shelgon} (female)
Modest | Rock Head
Bite
Flamethrower
Dragon Claw
Aerial Ace

Re-breed for Dragon Dance. Then use Aerial Ace, Rock Slide and Earthquake.

I can get the rest of the rates done later tomorrow.

I'm not a rater-guy but it would help them if you included EV's (if you know what they are), and also for tyranitar, I think third generation crunch/bite is a special attack and tyranitar is a physical attacker, so you probably shouldn't have flamethrower since blaziken has 3 fire moves. You should get rockslide for tyranitar for STAB (same type attack boost, rock moves get a 50% increase) standard moveset is dragon dance + rockslide + earthquake + arial ace/brick break etc. I also think you can do better with salamence/rayquaza 0__o
