Psychic is a one-time tm from mr. psychic in saffron. Rock Slide is a tutor, and earthquake is a rare tm. What if I used one already? |

the ice beam and shadow ball an be repurcased. You're out of luck for the others (unless you breed, which is a pain in the butt because you can't do so fo a loooooooooooooooooong time |

Okay, I'm trying to put together a team for the Emerald Battle Tower, using only Emerald Pokemon and skills(no trading opportunities). I'm very open to suggestions. I'm willing to do anything, cloning and catching included to perfect it. At the time of writing none of them are past the breeding stage, so there's no time lost in choosing something else. What I'm thinking so far: Salamence@Choice Band Adamant (252atk/252speed/6hp) Earthquake Rock Slide Brick Break Dragon Claw/Aerial Ace/Crunch/??? (Dragon Claw gives a 2x move against Dragons and universal move with STAB, Aerial Ace 2x vs Grass and Fighting and STAB, Crunch gives a 2x move vs Ghost and Psychic. Aerial Ace is intuitively best, but overlaps with ideal Skarmory moveset?) Skarmory(Sturdy)@Leftovers Impish (252def/252hp/6sdef) Spikes Roar Rest Aerial Ace/??? (AA would be ideal, but I would love to have it on Sala instead and don't want overlap. Could use Steel Wing but dislike 90% accuracy. Could use a non-STAB SpAtk move to fill in gaps, like Ice Beam/Surf/TBolt. I could use Toxic which would leave Skarm without a direct damage move, but then I'd have to get another third Poke) Dusclops@Leftovers Calm (252hp/252sdef/6def) Toxic Rest Pain Split Night Shade/Seismic Toss/??? (Night Shade gets STAB and gives the team a 2x vs Psychic/Ghost. Seismic Toss gives Dusc a dependable way to deal with Steel pokes in a 1v1 situation. However, both have the problem that they are far better if I level the poke to 100 (right?), which seems like a waste of time for Battle Tower instead of just leaving them at 60-80 somewhere.) I'm willing to change any items, any EV and any pokemon in this setup, so fire away. No legendaries or non-Emerald pokes or skills, as mentioned. |

I decided to do a team using only those not so used Pokemon. It wasn't too easy. Tell me if some of these is used popurlary again. Shuckle Impish EV: 252 Hp 252 Def -Hidden power Rock -Rest -Toxic -Wrap Wall. Pain for those teams who dont have Seismic toss. MAssive 613 defense stat! Octillery Modest EV: 6 Hp 252 Spd 252 SpAtt -Ice beam -Psychic -Surf -Thunder wave Special attacker. Thunder wave slow enemies down and then crush with superb attacks. Murkrow Impish EV: 252 Hp 6 Att 252 Def -Confuse Ray -Thunder wave -Aerial ace -Whirl wind Annoyer. Put all that haven't got Toxic or get paralyzed by Octillery to Confusion and Paralyze. Wigglytuff Impish EV: 252 Hp 128 Def 128 SpDef -Reflect -Rest -Return -Toxic Wall 2. Annoyes also little. Protects the team with reflect. Sandslash @ Choise band Adamant EV: 252 Att 252 Spd -Earthquake -Rock slide -Brick break -Return Physical sweeper. With decent defense stat and good attack stat this can make lotss of destruction. Ariados Adamant EV: 80 Hp 252 Att 176 Spd -Signal beam -Return -Sludge bomb -Toxic Physical sweeper 2. Also very powerful. Can someone rate it this time? |

(Dragon Claw gives a 2x move against Dragons and universal move with STAB, Aerial Ace 2x vs Grass and Fighting and STAB, Crunch gives a 2x move vs Ghost and Psychic. Aerial Ace is intuitively best, but overlaps with ideal Skarmory moveset?) Well, you could run a mixed-salamence (known as GPmence, Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw, Flamethrower, Aerial ace/earthquake), or run cb mence with a couple changes (notably Double-Edge > Brick break, and either crunch or aerial ace in the last spot). Skarmory(Sturdy)@Leftovers Impish (252def/252hp/6sdef) Spikes Roar Rest Aerial Ace/??? (AA would be ideal, but I would love to have it on Sala instead and don't want overlap. I could use Toxic which would leave Skarm without a direct damage move, but then I'd have to get another third Poke) Absolutely no special attacks, please. In fact, consider replacing skarmory with something that can use special moves effectively, like gardevoir or walrein. Dusclops@Leftovers Calm (252hp/252sdef/6def) Toxic Rest Pain Split Night Shade/Seismic Toss/??? (Night Shade gets STAB and gives the team a 2x vs Psychic/Ghost. However, both have the problem that they are far better if I level the poke to 100 (right?), which seems like a waste of time for Battle Tower instead of just leaving them at 60-80 somewhere.) A good wall is excellent, especially when healing and whatnot. But...this needs to be fixed. Try something more like... ![]() Impish/Careful | 252 HP, even out the defenses, maybe put in a bit off attack evs. ~Pain Split ~Shadow Ball ~Earthquake/Brick Break/Focus Punch ~Will-o-Wisp/Protect/Toxic The evs can be eskewed with will-o-wisp, as burn lowers the opponents attack (raising your defense, basically). With this, you could run Impish with 252 HP, 100 Atk, and 156 SpDef. The downside is accuracy and status - if you want to use a t-waver in the second spot, or toxic to deal more damage over time. Protect allows for pp wasting, protection from status, and HP recovery. I'm willing to change any items, any EV and any pokemon in this setup, so fire away. No legendaries or non-Emerald pokes or skills, as mentioned. It may be a good idea to look at this guide for more individualized symbol help, as it has there pokemon and a decent look at what pokemon is good for countering them. Obviously, you win't have steelix, aerodactyl, or dugtrio, but you at least have an idea as to what moves you should use. Pretty adaptible. koipen wrote: I decided to do a team using only those not so used Pokemon.
All this does is just slow your death. Try something that might kill, like CB with Explosion, Rock Slide, EQ, and HP Bug. Octillery Modest EV: 6 Hp 252 Spd 252 SpAtt -Ice beam -Psychic -Surf -Thunder wave Special attacker. Thunder wave slow enemies down and then crush with superb attacks. Psychic is an interesting choice. I would have gone flamethrower, but okay, sure - it works. Murkrow Impish EV: 252 Hp 6 Att 252 Def -Confuse Ray -Thunder wave -Aerial ace -Whirl wind Annoyer. Put all that haven't got Toxic or get paralyzed by Octillery to Confusion and Paralyze. No defense means it should stick to offense - Drill Peck, Shadow Ball, Pursuit, HP Fighting/Steel Wing/Icy Wind (it actually does a good number vs. Dragons). Wigglytuff Impish EV: 252 Hp 128 Def 128 SpDef -Reflect -Rest -Return -Toxic Wall 2. Annoyes also little. Protects the team with reflect. Hmm...Maybe Reflect can stay, but calm mind should be on, as well as a healing move (Wish). Run Ice Beam or Thunderbolt to round it out. Sandslash @ Choise band Adamant EV: 252 Att 252 Spd -Earthquake -Rock slide -Brick break -Return Physical sweeper. With decent defense stat and good attack stat this can make lotss of destruction. Swords Dance > Return, and possibly aerial ace > brick break - the only thing you hit better with brick break than EQ are normals. Ariados Adamant EV: 80 Hp 252 Att 176 Spd -Signal beam -Return -Sludge bomb -Toxic Physical sweeper 2. Also very powerful. There are other bugs not used as much - look at Pinsir. Anyway, agility > toxic (you have sludge bomb), and either baton pass or hp ground/fighting > return (steels). Can someone rate it this time? Done, and sorry about the skip. You have a major Lapras weakness - by that, a combo of bolt-beam and surf pretty much slaughters you badly. And, you have nothing really big to hit back with, except maybe calm mind thunderbolt by wigglytuff. |

This is my so-called "Mr murder" team. It is when properly setuped, unbeatable. Normally they use Sunkern (Lowest base stats) but i use Aerodactyl. Umbreon @Leftovers Bold (+Def -Att) Ev: 252 Hp 252 Def 4 SpDef -Mean look -Double team -Baton pass -Wish Evansion passer. Starts with Mean look and uses Double team so set-up can continue with peace. Smeargle @Leftovers Timid (+Spd -Att)/Jolly (+Spd -SpAtt) Ev: 252 Hp 252 Spd 4 Def -Spore -Ingrain -Calm mind -Baton pass Special stat passer. Uses ingrain so that rarely hitting Roar/Whirlwinf won't destruct team. Spore is very useful too. Vaporeon @Leftovers Bold (+Def -Att) Ev: 252 Hp 252 Def 4 SpAtt -Acid armor -Baton pass -Surf -Wish Defense passer. If one of pokemon has been hitted, this will heal it. Ninjask @Leftovers Jolly (+Spd -SpAtt) Ev: 252 Hp 252 Spd 4 Def -Swords dance -Baton pass -Substitute -Double team Speed, attack and substitute passer. Aerodactyl @Leftovers Jolly (+Spd -SpAtt) Ev: 252 Att 252 Spd 4 Hp -Rock slide -Earthquake -Double-edge (Rock head) -Hp Flying Killer. Ohko with setup almost everything. And I dont have last pokemon. Somebody can put to it anything. Like sunkern at lvl 2. |

Koipen - Sceptile should focus on speed and special attack. Try to breed for a better special attack. Note that stats are passed down through breeding. Swampert needs defensive stats - without them, he's a bad water. That is deplorable HP. The speed is good, but useless - base 60 and a -Speed nature. That 31 IV won't do much. codexklan wrote: My team, I like non standard pokemon. They are underused, but not THAT underused, but the setups are different.

There's Dusclops, but this is okay. More EVs in the defensive stats though - maybe 200 speed, 100 in the Def and SpDef, 156 in the HP. Jolly nature. ![]() Calm Mind Thunderbolt Toxic Roar Toxi Shuffler and sp. sweeper, set up toxic and calm mind. No defenses for toxi-shuffling. Doesn't get calm mind. Thunderbolt, Thunderwave, HP Ice/Grass, and crunch is the best he can do. Get a more stable electric, like Electabuzz or Magneton. Shuckle 252 sp d, 252 def, 6 hp @ lum Rest Toxic Wrap Iron Defense/ Siesmic Toss Wall. When I first saw that, I read it as "wail" which I then translated to "Fail". Shuckle as a wall is easily "walled" itself. Poisons absorb toxic, and wrap does miniscule damage. You'll die during rest. Get another special sweeper like Gardevoir. |

I was hoping I could get some feedback and ratings on my team I am using: ![]() Moves: Surf Muddy Water Mud Shot Earthquake ![]() Moves: Future Sight Confusion Psychic Shadow Ball ![]() Moves: Focus Punch Brick Break Strength Reversal ![]() Moves: Iron Tail Fire Blast Faint Attack Flamethrower ![]() Moves: Headbutt Ice Beam Crunch Blizzard ![]() Moves: Spark Thunder Thunderbolt Bite As far as the Battle Frontier events go, I usually place ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I would like to remind everyone (hamythepig and JT627, among others) that only offical raters are allowed to rate teams in the rating center. If you would like to be a rater, please refer to the first post of the thread for details. |

Would you add for the first message: No ingame teams. Cause you don't need anything to get past ingame. High levelled magikarp is just fine. |
