Err, these three types can't be used, I've discovered...

Anyway, thanks, Elites, for the sprites!

I have a question:
I was thinking of starting a forums (not sure yet) so, if I put lets say, a DV guide up. Because I learned the iformation from psypokes, would that be considered copying? Just want to know in case I DO start a forums, I don't want to offend the good folks here at psypokes :)

sadly, greed and a desire for power is a part of the human condition. we desire power over others, as well as something to call our own. sometimes we will do anything to aquire power and "things". the only way to prevent theft completely and thoroughly is to design your website so nothing can be copied or ripped, or to destroy the very thing that makes us human- ambition, the deisre to realize one's dreams. (sorry for sounding like this). till then, theft is a sad side effect of hosting a very popular forum.

It takes time and effort to get those sprites. Do you think I enjoy sitting at my computer editing 386 * 5 sprites? (The answer for you numbskulls who think otherwise is NO). I would appreciate some kind of credit for that. Generally it is courtesy to ask the webmasters if you want to use their resources. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone swiped all your hard work and tried to pass it off as their own - regardless of who owns the copyright.

I said it was simply a courtesy, not a requirement, and that it would be quite rude to swipe someone's hard work and pass it off as your own. Nintendo owns the copyrights to Pokemon.

In any case, you should not have answered RedYoshi64's question.

Thanks, nField

You should make it so linking to forums in a signature is against the rules, and hosting a forums as a knock-off of psypokes is against the rules

Sorry Jigglypuff,
I read the rules thuroughly, but I must of missed that.

:)

You should read the rules so that you can see that that IS against the rules.

I was just wondering how you create a forum. My friends and i are making one for magic the gathering, but we don't know where to start programming wise.

you'll need a server on which to upload phpBB3, the forums system we use. Alternatively, if you google "free forums" or something along that line, and you can use their web space for your forums.

Yep I just found that and it's set up. Now how to get members.....
TonBerryKing I see what you mean about the sprites. I'm alphabetizing 5 lists each with over 600 options And I'd Be really pissed if someone just took that.

Also, how do I add a header like the Ralts>Kirlia>Gardevoir/Mesprit+azelf+uxie thing?

If you're using phpBB3, it's all editing HTML in the Template files. If you're using another system, you're on your own. Just read the documentation that came with it.

Nope, Nothing. I tried to change it by going to ACP>Modules and entering the URL of the Logo I made into the Image bar, but that just caused white space where the logo should have been. I didn't get any files with it... I get the feeling i did something horribly wrong...

Post subject: Re: Psypoke - Warning about Thieving

if you're using phpBB3, I think you have to go to Setup, not ACP. It's easy enough to find from there, I think you just upload it to gallery, I can't really remember. If you're using phpBB3, but can't find it in Setup, I'll try to figure it out again. ;P

Where is the set up button? This is so frustrating. i'm just trying to create a good forum, but i can't figure out how to customize it. I've done what you guys said, but my Logo just disappeared,And i can't edit the symbols for stuff like stickies and announcments, raks, or forums.

Like I said, the Templates. It's the Styles tab under the ACP. phpBB has full documentation on the official site.

More importantly, this discussion needs to be moved to a more proper forum...say, Help or GenDisc.
