Those Pokemon Forum were the last forums to be created in my site. They aren't big, and any major threads were normally created by my Users not me.

I had no intention of creating anything as good as Psypoke. My first forum was based off from education, after I quickly found out half the internet didn't care, I switched it to Star Trek. Those are just extra forums, at first they were private. And the reason for it's privacy is my concern. Later I decided to make them public, just for the heck of it.

If you think I misunderstood you, please PM me.

I admit, I did steal stuff from Psypoke for my own pokemon forums. Truestar probably remembers tose forums. But then, I noticed that it was indeed a rip-off of psypoke, so I quickly deleted them. And by the way, tha was long before this topic was made. it was back in.... march I think. So now I have SW Forums, and FPS video game forums, which i got some ideas for from psypoke, but nothing stolen. So I sincerely apologize, to everyone.

Well at least you admitted you stole from psypoke even destroyed your forum other thieves from psypoke should also relize that.

Because they want a forum as popular as Psypoke with themselves in power.

interesting... i have a forum... i never got the inspiration to get one until Psypokes Forum popped up. seeing the ideas on Psypokes, i began making my own creations with the Psypokes ideas as roots.

Would you call me a copycat, or just some n00b to forums that got inspiration?

P.S. How do you make certain members have certain ranks on the forums??? I have NO clue.

If you're basing your forums on some of Psypokes ideas then yes it is thieving, believe me, I've been through it myself. Back then I was thinking "Pfft. So what, it's just a website" But now what Amphy and TK said has made a lot more sense. So here's a little advice, don't even base things on someone elses ideas. As Amphy said, What if Psypoke didn't exist, what would you base your forums on?

Mod edit: Stop using that color, its too hard to see.

aggron92 I couldn't have said it better. I can think of only one sad excuse.
You need to show skills of website/forum design and administration for some school or other reason and you are doing pok

What if someone wants to use a sprite of a Pokemon from the Picdex section? Is that okay?

Author: Magic Umbreon [ Wed Jul 12, 2006 7:49 am ]

Yes. That is because:

The pictures are copyright nintendo. The fact psypoke is hosting them does not give them ownership. This applies to all non-fan based material. E. g. trainer card templates in the game, sprites, maps, You do not need to provide credit to psypoke, just as when a car is built it does not need credit for the inventor of the car. Do what you want and have fun. If psypoke don't like it - fine. Kryten and 2x4b's forum wouldn't have got many members and would've died soon enough anyway. The internet is a strange place, conducting business with people you haven't met. If you're so stressed your fictional monsters are going to be seen on another website I think you should get a life.

So that's my view on it all.

Actually, what you're advocating is akin to building a car (using methods and tools not invented by you) using someone else's blueprints, then claiming that you designed the car all by yourself. Nice try, though.

Excuse me, Magic Umbreon, but you neither have permission nor the authority to answer on behalf of the Webmasters of this site. I do recall the last time I checked that we are in charge of Psypoke, and not you.

It takes time and effort to get those sprites. Do you think I enjoy sitting at my computer editing 386 * 5 sprites? (The answer for you numbskulls who think otherwise is NO). I would appreciate some kind of credit for that. Generally it is courtesy to ask the webmasters if you want to use their resources. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if someone swiped all your hard work and tried to pass it off as their own - regardless of who owns the copyright.

And furthermore, this is the Internet. We aren't commercial partners trying to scab as much money out of you. I'm running this site at a loss. This is NOT a business nor a competition.

To answer the original question, you may use any of the following sprites:
Green
Red/Blue
Yellow
Gold, Gold Shiny
Silver, Silver Shiny
Ruby/Sapphire, Ruby/Sapphire Shiny and Ruby/Sapphire Back
LGFR, LGFR Shiny and LGFR Back
Overworld
Dungeon
Pinball

OK I agree with you, but I cannot understand how it is your property of the sprites and you need crediting for. If anyone else got the sprites from the game they'd look the same, so there is no way of distinguishing yours from others. So what I'm trying to establish is that Nintendo owns copyright of those sprites, it is your choice to use them but that does not give anyone but them credit. Does anyone understand where I'm coming from?

I said it was simply a courtesy, not a requirement, and that it would be quite rude to swipe someone's hard work and pass it off as your own. Nintendo owns the copyrights to Pokemon.

In any case, you should not have answered RedYoshi64's question.

Magic Umbreon, I think what you don't understand is that they had to sit there and screenshot or whatever each and every one of the sprites. No they didn't make them themselves, but they did work to get copies of them - there isn't exactly some global server somewhere that emails the sprites out and all TK had to do was rename them or something. It's very time-consuming to screenshot then edit each sprite, which is why they deserve the credit.

REALLY! I always thought you just sucked the programming code out and they were separate files. I have made basic games before and I always used the individual image files in a folder. Jeez, you like pok

The point is, you tried to speak on behalf of the Administration. Nobody cares about your opinion on something related to Psypoke.

Your reply to RedYoshi64's post was rude and very unnecessary. I believe it would be best for you to just stop posting in this topic, unless to apologize.

TonberryKing, If you don't want to sit in front of a PC monitor all day getting sprites, just ask me... I'm always online so I can save you some time if you want.

...:?

Where on EARTH did that come from? TonberryKing does have a life, believe it or not. And given Psypoke has all 386 official sprites, I think he's set for his sprites.

I'm sure he's thankful for your support..though.

Okay, thanks for answering. I was thinking about using them in a "Join Team ______" sig banner, but I don't know if it's such a good idea, really.

RedYoshi64, it would be fine, as long as you're either making them for your team (Solar, I'm assuming), or get permission from the team you're making them for (although I'm not sure why you'd do that.). As TK said on the previous page, you can use most of the sprites in the picdex, pretty much all but the Emerald animations (I think).

I belive that the admin have it set up so that some of the sprites can't be downloaded. All of the sprites that we are allowed to use don't have the blocks on them.
