Monarch charges up his psychic power and blasts the statue of Sting into the water, shattering it on impact. The momentary act has left him off gaurd though as Sting comes in and delivers a blow to monarch's weak spot. The purple butterfly faints on the spot and an announcement is made.

"Sting has landed a deadly blow on Monarch and finished it off!" The crowd cheers in excitement.

"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Monarch return.!" Arthur called back his Ko'ed Butterfree into its Butterfree, and reached for another one.
"Ok, Ali, let's try again!" Arthur chucked his pokemon out into the field.
"I chose you because of your speed, let's hope it's enough!"

"Ammmphhh." Lighthouse sighs as he is engrossed in his infatuation with Ludi. The way her leaves draped from her skin, the way she holds water in her "hat", and the way she doesn't move due to being paralyzed draws all of the ampharos's attention.

Well Ludi didn't attack but neither did that Ampharos so that's Ok, but what if his plan of Jumping in the water works?

"Lighthouse, snap out of it! Jump in the water!" Mike shouted. "If you win this, I'll give a humongous bowl of green, leafy vegetables," he nearly begged.

Lighthouse momentarily comes to his senses and obey's Mike's command to jump into the water. After jumping in, he is still curious about why his trainer asked him to do so. His curiosity instantly fades though when he looks over at Ludi and once again becomes infatuated by her.

With a heavy sigh, he motions her to come to the pool. However, she does not. Whether it is because she doesn't feel the same way or because she is still paralyzed, we may never know.

((Sorry for lack of posts, final's week begins tomarrow.))

Hearing the phrase, "Ice Beam," sends a wave of fear up and down Lighthouse's spine that momentarily overcomes his lust for Ludi. Unfortunately, it hasn't overcome his sense of pain, made evident by his launching of a thunderbolt, which strikes Ludi, but is also conducted by the water and sent back at him. Not being in the puddles, but rather in a small pool, the shock, which is actually doing more damage to him than too Ludi, causes him to reflexively jump out of the water.

A double-edged mistake as the reflex caused him to be out of the water just as Ludi's ice beam freezes it over. Ludi grumbles over the dodged attack as she munches on her snack and Lighthouse, once again, stares at her with love in his eyes.

Ali darts for the pool and slams its ice punch into the water. Normally, a beedrill would be able to get at least a hit in before the Ali's orders can be followed through with. However, in Sting's weakened state, his speed has been cut dramatically, the fact that it gave a lot of energy into that last attack on Monarch doesn't help things either. The out come is that Ali has enough time to rip off a piece of ice, throw it at Sting, and snicker as he falls to the ground.

An announcement is made. "Sting just didn't have the energy to continue and gave Ali too much time to follow through with the plan. The round goes to Ali!" The crowd erupts in applause.

Despite the condition of the pokemon, the two attacks are launched and cross each other in an 'X' pattern and strike without interference.

While Lighthouse's attack hits the pokemon he is lusting after, Ludi's beam misses his feet due to muscle spasms caused by the paralysis's effects. The beam freezes the ground underneith Lighthouse and causes him to loose his balance and fall. Although most pokemon would be quite upset and embarassed at this moment, Lighthouse is still in love.

Jormund comes out of her pokeball with a cry and lands gracefully on her long tail. She and Ali stare each other down, but Jormund's stare is stronger. The fiendish eyes of the purple cobra send shivers down Ali's spine and it's muscles tense just a little.

((Final's week is over :D. Now I'm on my summer break and can uber post to the max0rs. ))

Working through her paralysis, Ludi begins summoning up a wave from the water Static's surf had splashed everywhere. Before the wave can be completed, however, Lighthouse hits her with a thunderbolt, breaks her concentration, and then starts to feel guilty over hurting the one he loves.

Ludi, in the mean time, munches on her snack to recharge some of her strength.

Jormund ((How did you come up with that name?)) attempts to instill more fear into Ali by continuing the staring contest. In a gutsy move to counter the attack, Ali covers his eyes with one hand and charges at Jormund by running around the pool and landing a fire punch on the cobra.

Jormund is a little grumpy from getting hit, but it's nothing he can't handle.
