"Wait!" exclaimed Ellya suddenly, "you're Mr. Bogg? As in the Chocobo racing Mr. Bogg?" She quite surprised by this turn of events, but also slightly relieved. The little Moogle was quite similar to the bear cubs she had played with in the forest, and she thought that maybe it would be a little easier. "We're very sorry, Mr. Bogg," she said kindly, "but my friend here's never seen a Moggle before and he was kind of shocked. Perhaps you'd rather speak with me..." she trailed off and walked over to the little, bear-like creature. Coming around the bench so that Mr. Bogg wouldn't be able to see Silvien, she said, "y'see, we heard that a Chocobo would be useful for our little desert crossing expedition. Apparently you're the best man - I should say Moogle - for the job. So, what do you say to renting us a couple of Chocobos from this fine establishment?"

((Wah! Sorry I didn't edit in time. Family emergency. x_X;; ))

Mr. Bogg blinked at them, the pom-pom on his head jiggling a bit--and then he went into a hysterical giggle fit, the Moogle falling onto his back and flailing his limps. "Waaahahahahaaa!"

"Uh, excuse me," Silvien muttered, looking around Ellya at the mad Chocobo owner. "But she asked you a--"

"W-wait, wait just a sec. Waahahaha!" He continued to laugh, rolling over and over. "Hehehehahahaaa!"

"Well, we tried," the mage said with a shrug.

The Moogle sat up, wiping tears from his eyes. "Oh, I haven't laughed like that in a long time. Thank you. Kupo! But the answer is no. Sorry." He shook his head, the pom-pom swaying from side to side. "Normally I would, but you don't know how hard it was for me to get my Chocobos. Kupo! Y'see, a few weeks ago all mine were killed by a sandstorm in the middle of a race, as well as their riders. I managed to scrounge some together, but finding racers is another story. Everyone's too afraid. And now my business is about to go under. Kupo kupo!"

Nikolas exited the shop after a while, mainly due to the really long line. "Must've been a busy day.", he thought. "Of course, now that I've been gone for who knows how long, they probably left without me...or are looking for me. Either way they're probably pissed at me."

He walked around for a while, a pretty long while, since he and the others were on complete opposite sides of the town, so he had to walk for almost half an hour until he found them with some tiny bear thingy.

"What in the world is that thing?", he thought as he waved nonchalantly to the group.

((Well, I had been waiting for registeel to post, but since he hasn't...))

((sorry, didn't see sneaky_sneasel's post, he posted before I did...editing it now...))

Adriaan glanced at the man and woman and noticed this time, that the woman was glaring at her suspiciously. Adriaan smiled innocently and strolled off. Dang, that didn't work. I hope everyone else is getting what we need. She sighed. She spotted a girl walking alone ahead of her and she walked casually up by her. "Don't even think of robbing me, girl." Adriaan looked at the girl, surprised. "I wasn't planning to," she lied. I haven't been around enough people lately to do this properly. Giving up on getting gil, Adriaan weaved through the crowd, searching faces. The sooner they left, the sooner she'd have time to figure out what was going on with her. Now that she thought about it, though, she had no idea where their group was even supposed to meet...she glanced around. She hadn't found Nikolas, but she thought she had checked the whole marketplace. In fact, she recognized this spot as the place she had taken off. Maybe she could figure out where they all went...

Silvien was already irked--he had just been insulted by a chubby teddy bear--but when Nikolas caught his eye his expression softened up a bit. He almost appeared relieved. "Where've you been? Adriaan and Steven are looking for you." He looked back at the Moogle, who was now bawling his eyes out over the inevitable loss of his racing business. "That's Mr. Bogg. He was supposedly going to help us get some Chocobos to cross the wyrm infested desert, but he's not too keen on letting them go."

((Sorry......like everyone else, I've been extremely busy. And with my job starting monday, and I'm going to be so busy that I even won't have much time to do homework. :? ))

Sabin looked around the dense marketplace-ish area. "This place is so crowded... I can't stand it." sighed Sabin. He looked up and saw a small roof. "I think I'll get some more air up there." smiled Sabin as he did a couple of front flips. He then did a front somersalt and landed on the roof. He looked around. "Ahh...much better..." breathed Sabin.

((I had some free time, so I Googled some images of the summon spirits--which we'll be able to use...eventually. I know the earth gem is taking a long time to find, but it is the hardest to find since it's the first. (That probably made no sense. XP) The others shouldn't take nearly as long. Anyway, here's the pics. When you find your gem, you can pick which version of your spirit you want to use.))

Well," Ellya said, a sly glint in her eyes, "we may be ablt to fix your problem of riderless Chocobos." She took a step towards the the Moogle. "You can make it an even more exciting race. We'll race each other across the desert, and people can bet on who'll get there first. Of course some of us might not make it at all, but that'll just make it all the more exciting, eh? What do you think of that?"

Adriaan scanned the horde of people. They said the were going to find Chocobos...where would that be, though? A glimpse of movement above the crowd caught Adriaan's eye and she saw Sabin somersault up onto a roof. Inspite of herself, her eyebrows raised an inch or so. What was he doing, getting a better view? Adriaan smiled slightly, it was a good idea. Perhaps from up there she could see some sort of Chocobo racing place...Adriaan sighed and walked back into the crowd, reaching the building Sabin had gotten on. She went down a little back alley and nimbly climbed up the wall. She swung out onto the roof and looked around. Yes, there was a building on the other side of town that might be used for Chocobo racing. Adriaan looked at Sabin. "Hey. Did you find Nikolas?"

"That's very sweet of you. Kupo!" Mr. Bogg sniffled, rubbing his eyes. "But for a race to be official, I must have six racers. Kupo! And I'm afraid you're two people short of what I need." He dabbed his apple-sized nose with a handerchief. "If you could find me two more riders, I can start advertising my business again and we'd be able to have our first race by tomorrow morning. Kupo! Maybe if you all miraculously survive the crossing, more people will be willing to race for me, and my business will be number one in town once more!"

Rachel was not very pleased with the idea of racing across the desert on chocobo back. Renting them was fine, but racing them meant that they would most likely be split up on teh way back. "Wha..." She started to protest, but decided that they weren't going to get the chocobos any other way. Looks like another lose lose situation for me.

Sabin looked back to Adriaan. "Nope, no sign of him yet. But from up here, we should be able to spot him if he comes nearby." Sabin then looked in all directions. This desert looks like it goes on forever...but the canyon is somewhere out there. I just hope it's not too far...even with Chocobos, if we don't make it to the canyon by sunset, we'll freeze to death. Desert nights are extremely cold...I don't wanna experience temperatures that cold again. Not after last time...

Adriaan followed Sabin's gaze out to the desert. "Yeah..." She turned to Sabin and studied his face. Something seemed to be going through his head, some memory probably, but she couldn't tell what it was. "Maybe we can go looking for them." Adriaan motioned to the building she had spotted. "My guess is that they're over there, trying to get chocobos. We could head over there..." Adriaan's voice kind of faded into nothing--not like her normal voice, but actually embarrassed or unsure of what to do.

"Don't worry," Ellya said, her smile broadening, "we've got two friends who'll join the race, then you'll have your full compliment of people," she reached forward and took the Moogle by the hand, preparing to shake, "so, is it a deal?"

((Sorry for not posting yesterday. Forgot to mention I was going to be spending all day on the road. But now I'm in Florida, aka The Sunshine State--which I don't understand why it's called that 'cause it's raining every other day here. And I'm just in time for Tropical Storm Rita too. Fun fun.))

"Oh, thank you, thank you! Kupo!" Mr. Bogg squeaked, giving the girl's hand a tight hug. "You don't know how happy this makes me! Kupo! Hope at last!" The Moogle flew in circles around them, weaving in and out of bodies, before stopping to sit right on top of Rachel's nest of red hair. "You're a very generous bunch. Kupo! If you haven't a place to stay, you're free to spend the night in one of my vacant stables. Trust me, they're a lot cleaner than any of the inns you'll find around here. Kupo! I can lay down some blankets and prepare you a nice, warm meal."

((Since I know most of you have never played any of the Final Fantasy games, I updated the gems section so that there's more information. Now it has the guardian spirits' summoned attacks and descriptions for all the spells. I also removed some spells for certain reasons. Sorry Registeel and Undeadcutlet.))

Ellya nodded to the Moogle happily. "Thank you very much, Mr. Bogg, you've done us a great favour. I'm sure none of us will mind staying in a stable for a night!" She looked around at the others, smiling brightly, then turned back to the Moogle. "Well, we have to go now and find our friends! We'll be back soon!" She gave the Moggle and friendly little wave and walked out the door.

Mr. Bogg left his perch on top of Rachel's head, returning to his place on the counter. "Okay. I'll get everything ready for when you return. Kupo! Oh, my! There's just too much to do!" He continued to mutter to himself, flying back behind the counter so he could start work at once.

"Moogles are creepy," Silvien said at last once they were outside again. "In fact, everything about this journey is creepy. The disembodied voice, the hairy merchant, and now a talking teddy bear. Not to mention Steven with his big muscles and spikey hair. And I'd hate to see what those sandy worms looks like--especially if everyone's scared of them."

Rachel scanned the crowd for Sabin and Adrian. Not seeing either of them, she turned to silvien. "I agree with you, he did seem a bit creepy, but he did have a decent composition, once he got over being depressed." And if he ever sits on me again, she added to herself in her head.

Silvien was daydreaming again, staring absentmindedly ahead. But something did catch his eye--two figures on a roof. "Look! There they are! Hey there, gorgeous!" he shouted up to the pair, his hands cupped around his mouth for maximum voice amplification. "And...uh...muscle man! Hey! You guys hear me?!" He sighed, his arms dropping to his sides, and he turn his head downward towards the ground. "Okay, does anyone see any large rocks I can throw at them?"

Ellya laughed and walked over to the building. "I don't think the journey's that creepy," she said as she started to climb the wall of the building, "in fact I think it's pretty fun!" She swung herself up onto the roof. "We found Mr. Bogg," she said, "he'll let us borrow his Chocobos if we race for him. He's even letting us sleep in his stables!"

Silvien watched as Ellya scaled the building with ease, several things running through his head--like how someone could be so cheerful and optimistic when they were risking their lives all for a bunch of gems. It puzzled him, really...and yet, he found himself growing more and more fascinated with the young girl's resolve. "Careful coming down now," he said, not wanting her to slip and fall. "I don't want to have to peel you off the road. Ick."

Ellya laughed and took another step towards the other two on the roof. Suddenly there was an ominous crack and one of the shingles snapped underneath her right foot. She leapt forwards so she wouldn't fall straight through the roof and slid across the roof. A little too far. She came to the edge, seemed to hang there for a moment, before sliding off and falling down towards the ground.

Oh, geez! The gun mage didn't have time to think. Once Ellya had slipped he had responded by moving beneath her...which he soon discovered to be a bad idea because his 'damsel in distress' was coming straight at him. "I've got--!" Wham! He fell onto his back as the girl landed right on top of him. He lay on the dirty road for a few seconds, his face contorted in pain. "Owww," he groaned, his head rolling to the side. "...Why couldn't you just let me throw the rock?"

((G'night. ^^))

Ellya got up quickly and reached down to help Silvien up. "I'm so sorry!" she said, "you told me to be careful but I still fell! Oh, I'm so sorry!" she grabbed his hand and pulled him to his feet, brushing him down.
