Draco watched Drakaan cook dinner. He smiled and thought to himself,

Jen stiffened at the sudden death of the deer. She could easily have turned off her senses had she been hunting, but it was so sudden. A cold nose in her hand brought her back to the world.
Jen looked up to see Draco offering her a beatiful ice flower. Surprised, Jen accepted it gratefully. Jen studied it a moment. Though it was ice, it wasn't very cold and though her hands were warm, it didn't melt. Jen looked up at Draco, gratitude in her eyes. "Thank you." She smiled kindly. "All I have is my thanks at the moment, but know that this gift will e treasured." Jen stuck the beautiful ice sculpture in her belt, but it didn't break.
Jen turned to Drakkan. "Yes, we--I mean, I--well, I'm not sure what I mean, really. You see, I met with several others--two elves, another human, and a dracling--and we were told to find a tower somewhere to stop keep the forest from being destroyed or turned...wrong but as you can see," Jen motioned to the two dragons, Risha, and herself, "the group that was sent on that errand has broken up. I think it's important that we find this tower and save the forest, but I'm not sure if we can save it because we are not the original group."

Drakaan smiled at Draco. "Thank you," she thought.

"Now, about that tower...I think I flew past one a long time ago, when I was fleeing my old home. It may be what you're looking for, but my memory is a little rusty. Now, those other friends of yours, where are they? I'd surely like to meet them. Oh, and sorry about the deer, I was just terribly hungry." She looked up. Throught the leaves she saw fluffy clouds.

"I wonder what it would've been like if my family wasn't killed..." Drakaan shivered.

Jen shook her head. "I'm not sure where they are--I don't even know what happened to them, if some of them even made it into the forest. Do you remember where this tower was, though? Its location may help us...that is, if you are willing to help me."

"I'm trying to remember... Which way to the Tundra..." Drakaan remembered which way right then. She flapped her wings, flying into the air (she got through the trees alright). She looked around and saw what looked to be a twig far out.

"I think I found it!" Drakaan yelled back to her friends. She lowered herself back down to the ground. "I might be able to fly you there, but it goes right over the meadow where Skiara is. She might attack, and that's not good." She took a bite of the deer.

"Now, your friends, you don't think they made it through the forest? What do you mean? Did they die or something?" Drakaan gave an inquisitive look.

"No, no, nothing like that. It's just--I don't think one elf ever made it out of the cottage we met in, I don't think another elf even made it into the woods, and I don't know what happened to the human and draconling that were with me at the cave." Jen looked perplexed. "For all I know, they're all alive and well, but they're not here, they don't know what's going on..."

Drakaan wiped her head. "Whew. At least they're not dead. Now that you mention it, where are Will and Silver?" She sniffed the air. "I don't smell them..."

Jen shrugged. "They were both part of the original group, and now..." she gestured to the trees, "I don't know where they are." Risha nuzzled Jen's hand in a rare show of affection, calming Jen and saying everything was alright.

If you want to go to the tower, I can fly you there. Drakaan will have to lead the way, though.

"One of us will have to stay here and find Will and Silver, unless you want to leave them behind...otherwise, I can fly you to the tower. It will probably take a while, though. It looked far away. And if there are bad guys there, we should probably rest first...."

I say we go to the tower together, and leave a message behind for Will and Silver.telling them where we went.

((I agree. I think the others have been too busy to get on [or they've just lost inerest], but either way, if they want to they can have their characters follow ours or something.))

Jen nodded. "Yes, it would probably be best if we all went together." She looked hopefully at the dragons. "Do you have some way to leave a message? That way, if they follow us later they'll know where we went." Jen smiled, pleased by the compromise and her new (though odd) friends.

"I could care something into a tree, but I don't know how to write in your language. Dragons have their own language. Maybe I could just scratch at something to leave a mark or bend some twigs or something....Wait. Maybe I could scorch the ground (a large burn mark is kinda hard to miss)!"

Sounds like a plan. But we should make the scorch mark in the form of an arrow. That way they know which direction we went.

Jen smiled at the dragons. "That might work, but let me scratch something in a tree, too, that way they'll know it was us and not some strange fire or something." Jen walked over to a near tree and carved a few words in it: Fellows, follow arrow to tower. Jen studied it for a second. It seemed alright if anyone else saw it, but it wasn't really archaic, either. If they came along, the others should understand. Jen looked at the dragons. "Alright, you know the way; are you ready?"

"Yes. All I need to do is scorch the ground with an arrow toward the tower. I can do that after we start flying, though." Drakaan thought for a second. "You know, if they follow the arrow by foot, it will take a very long time to get to the Tower..." She gestured that the tower was very far away.

"All the same, get on my back. I'll fly you there."

((Sorry I've been gone for a while...))

Jen looked around. "Maybe we can figure something out, but let's get to that tower." Jen climbed on Drakkan's back. "Come on, Risha."
Risha shook her head. <No, I will stay here to help anyone who comes along.> Risha looked at Jen fondly. <Besides, it's time you do something on your own.>
Jen looked at her friend--her mentor and smiled sadly. "I'll make you proud of me--I promise."

Draco spread his wings, the flame marks becoming even more vivid. Then he took to the sky, whipping up a small gust of wind. Draco hovered in midair, waiting for Drakaan and Jen to catch up.

Drakaan glanced at Risha, the gems on her glowing faintly. "If anything happens, let us know, okay?" She spread her wings, showing the markings on her wings (i've yet to describe them; they look like frost crystals) and rose into the air. "Ready?" she asked. Leaving no time for answer, she zoomed off.

Draco flew beside his sister. He looked at Drakaan, feeling the spiritual connection they now shared.

Draco smiled and said,

Drakaan sighed. "Sure, I'll race you. Jen, hold on. I dont want you to fall off, and dragons can fly very fast." She flapped her wings and concentrated very hard, making the gem on her head shine brightly. Suddenly, she lurched forward, zooming right past Draco, leaving him in a smoke trail (she was breathing smoke to make a little trail just in case the others decided to join them; the smoke was really dark). She closed her eyes for a split second, and when she opened them again, there was a very big, very real tree in front of her. "AIII!" she yelled. Stopping just before the tree, she saw what appeared to be runic letters on it. (dragons can read runic, but since Drakaan was separated from her parents at such a young age she didn't get the chance to learn all of the letters, but she can read it a little) She stared at the unfamiliar letters, trying to decipher what it meant from what she knew.

"Thanks, Draco." She started to decipher the message.
"DON'T READ IT!! IT'S EVIL WRITING THAT WILL TURN YOU TO STONE!!" The fairy that she met earlier was back. It slapped Drakaan.
"Ow. Now what about this? It's evil? Like an evil spell that turns anything that reads it to stone?"
"Presicely. Don't read it."
"Okay. Now, who exactly are you and why have you been following me?"
The fairy sighed. "I'm Rynn, and I was told to watch you and make sure you were okay before your parents died. I knew them well, and they sensed that they would die soon. I made sure that you made it through the battle! I'm your little guardian angel."
"Wow!! Cool!!" Drakaan stared at Rynn for a little while. "Come on. We've got to get to this tower before the whole forest is destroyed." She looked behind her and was amazed. There was a vast green forest, but way off in the distance it was all savannah. She looked in front of her, and it was also the same, except off in the distance it was all black! "Oh...that's...what's happening to the forest? It looks like it was scorched..." She felt a deep sadness flow over her and through the Soul Gem.

"Come on, Draco. We'd better get moving. You too, Rynn." She started to fly forward, but stopped and turned to Jen. "You were right. This is serious. I swear I didn't know that this was's all probably because of my sister and her being a traitor and..." She started crying. Suddenly, she darted off toward the tower, going very fast and leaving Draco in the dust, as well as Jen holding on very tightly. In her mind, Drakaan was reciting a spell she learned while she was in the forest to curse Skiara for what she had done here.

(it may not be all Skiara's fault, but Drakaan is so po'd at her she's going to try to use this spell to curse her anyway.)

Draco felt the sadness through the Soul Gem. Determined not to let Drakaan get hurt, he flapped his wings and soon caught up with her.
