((All the usual roleplaying rules apply- no godmoding, now powerplaying, no severe Mary Sues (although my character is a little sue-ish), etc. This is meant as an extention of the Sith Order thread in the activities/competitions section, so please use the same rank as you have there. Reasonable grammar and spelling is expected- no chatspeak please, and READ THE SETTING DESCRIPTION IN THIS POST!!!))

A century has passed since the downfall of Darth Sidius, and Luke Skywalker has long since passed away. The new republic, protected by the new jedi order, is struggling to keep the peace in a galaxy plagued with bandits and outlaws looking to restore the old way of things. Many such groups are infamous, but on the outskirts of the galaxy a new order is forming under a name not heard of for fifty years: Sith. This collection of individuals gifted in the dark side of the force is still young, but already rumors of their existence are spreading throughout the galaxy.

The Sith temple is hidden at the core of a large asteroid, accessible only via three small shuttle ports. The chemical makeup of the asteroid makes it virtually undetectable, unless you know exactly what you're looking for. Previously a prison used by a nearby planet to house its most dangerous criminals, it has been converted into a comfortable living space that can house over five hundred Sith lords and students.

Few beings would dare to tread the halls of the Sith temple alone wearing the robes of a Jedi, even while the order was so young. Rumors of their power and ferocity were already common, but one of their members had taken great care to ensure that no such rumors were started about her.

The other lords knew her as Darth Havec, and she was one who dared to walk Sith halls in Jedi robes. She had only just returned to the temple, and had not yet had a chance to change out of her usual working robes and back into something more befitting of her alignment and talent with the dark side.

Her quarters were here first destination, of course, and then she would pay the other council member a visit. In her absence, a padawan had been assigned to her, and she was curious to meet the would-be Sith lord.

((The movie was awesome! I want my own Anakin (sp?) now. I can keep him in my closet and bring him out when my friends come over so he can serve drinks. And if I can't have him, then I want a pet like Obi-Wan's.))

Someone else also wandered the halls of the Sith temple. It was a peculiar young man, no older than twenty. He wore flowing robes as well, though of an origin distant to that of the Jedi, his colors black and grey. His hair, which was black as ebony, was exceptionally long to where it was almost unnatural, nearly touching the ground as he strode along. The features of his face were very sharp and his untidy bangs cast a shadow over his eyes to where their color was almost indiscernible. He immediately sensed another presence, and moved to intercept it.

"Excuse me," he called once he spotted the woman Sith lord. A pair of sharp fangs could be seen when he spoke, almost giving him the appearance of a vampire. "I need to find the Sith council chamber. Can you kindly point me in the right direction. I'm afriad I've gotten...lost."

"The council chamber? Why certainly" she replied with a very genuine, kind smile. "Take this hallway down past the next six doors, then take the door to your left, cross the main hall, and enter the third farthest hallway, the one with the display of old lightsabers beside it. But the council isn't in session, and the door will be closed."

((The lizard he rode, you mean? I want one of those too.))

He didn't respond for a long time, just stared at the girl. "I'm sorry, could you please repeat that? My memory isn't the best."

Just wonderful. It was his first time inside the Sith temple and he was already making a fool of himself. First impressions were everything after all. He'd just have to make sure he didn't anger his new master, which he was supposed to be meeting for the first time that day once the council had gathered.

She smiled patiently, thinking on how to best redirect the child. "There's a large dimenthium crystal on one of the chairs in the council chamber, it's the same substance I use in my lightsaber" she removed the blade from her belt to show the child, pressing a few buttons so the chamber housing the purple crystal opened. "It's a rather rare sort of crystal, you should be able to use your abilities to guide yourself to the chamber by concentrating on it. Finding landmarks in the force like that will be far more useful in the long run than memorizing mere directions, anyways, especially given the gridlike structure of this building."

"Eh...thanks." I think. In all honesty, he wasn't all that exprienced in the ways of the force. The reason the Sith showed interest in his race was because of their rare natural ability to manipulate dark powers. But when it came to finding things--well, that's where an instructor would come into play.

"Thank you," he said again, turning to leave. A crystal, a crystal. He tried to picture it in his mind. Where are you? And as if his feet were walking on their own, he began to make his way to the meeting room.

Honestly, with the number of new recruits coming in, you'd think someone would have the decency to put in some maps thought the Sith lord, sighing. She turned in at the next door, walking down the dimly lit hallway until she reached her room. Her black cloak was hanging next to the door, calmly awaiting its long-absent owner. "Ah, it's good to be home" she said cheerily, throwing off the plain brown robes and picking out a few pieces of jewelry to accent her rather more ornamental Sith costume.

It would be several minutes before the young padawan would find the right place, or what he thought was the right place. He spent most of the time wandering blindly through the halls, taking the older female's advise and trying to keep his mind focused on the crystal landmark.

He soon found himself standing before a large pair of doors. There was a panel beside them, and he wandered over to it, trying to locate the button that might let him in. He pressed a green one, but nothing happened. The Sith lord was right. The doors were locked.

Guess there's nothing to do by wait. He heaved a long sigh, pacing back and forth. He hated waiting.

((Edit: Typo errors. He's not a Sith yet, I don't think. xX;; ))

The falconlike Sith changed quickly, emerging from her room in a vaguely sinister formal costume made mostly from animal skins, and of course a traditional black hooded cloak. She made her way quickly to the council chamber, following her own advice from earlier to navigate the confusing building's corridors.

"I see you found it" she said, noticing the boy from earlier trying to get in. "That dratted cyborg must be late again, for a man with an internal clock accurate to one tenth of a microsecond, he certainly isn't the prompt type."

"Hello again," he said, looking up from the floor. He had grown exhausted from pacing and was now leaning against the wall. "Actually, you're the first person I've seen since I found the place. I was expecting maybe a few council members to appear before now." He paused, inspecting the woman's new attire. "Wait. You're not on the council, are you?" She certainly looked old enough to be.

"I am, actually" she replied, eerily cheerful for a Sith lord. "My name is… well, my name is difficult to pronounce. Havec is fine, Lord Havec if you're feeling particularly formal. I don't suppose you might be the padawan I was told to meet? I feel quite dreadful about missing the first wave of padawans to train, of course, but it really couldn't be helped, since I only just returned."

"My name is Silvien," he replied absentmindedly.

It took him a good while to register what Havec had said. "W-wait a minute. Did you're supposed to meet your padawan today?" He appeared shocked, examining the falcon lady more carefully this time. "Nonono. There must be a mistake. You're a...a, uh..." A woman? How in the universe did he get stuck with a female master? And she was shorter than him too.

But now he knew that he had just fortuitously insulted the Sith lord. Oh, crap...

"Ah, you must be the young Padawan, then" she said, raising a thin, feathery eyebrow. "I have heard of your species- a most remarkable predisposition to the dark side, it's no wonder the council assigned you to me." She didn't seem to have noticed his unfinished insult, or perhaps she just chose to ignore it. Either way, pleasantness still all but radiated from her.

Silvien forced a smile. "That's me," he said through gritted teeth. "And I appologize, but I don't believe I've ever seen or heard of your species before."

He was still having a difficult time grasping the concept that this...humanoid bird...would be his master and mentor. The council must be playing a prank on him...but then again, he never really knew the council to have a sense of humor. Maybe he could request someone different? Has that ever been done before?

"I'm not surprised- my home planet was destroyed some twenty years ago, there are very few of us left" she replied, reaching for her belt and pulling off a small digital clock. "Hmm, the other council member must have been held up- how fortunate we found one another anyways."

"Yes. Isn't it?" He adjusted the wings on his back, which kept hidden under his cloak when he wasn't using them. Without them, he just appeared to be an average human teenager, if you ignored the white fangs. "And I was very young when my planet was destroyed, so I don't remember exactly how long ago it was. In fact, since then I've never encountered another of my kind."

He was looking away now, hoping to maybe spot another Sith lord, or an android...or something that could open the door for them.

"Well if half the council is absent, I suppose there's no use in holding a council meeting" she said, laughing. "The day is still young, though, why don't we get you started on some meditation exercises? The landmark system seems to have guided you here alright, let's see if I can't teach you some further practical applications of the force before the evening meal."

A pained expression lanced over the young humanoid-lizard face as he pulled himself across the hard rock towards the immense airlocks of the sith temple. He knew that a place like this was not safe for a Jedi Knight like himself, but since the treachery he was ready to do anything. As he thought of the word "treachery" dark thoughts and images flittered around erratically in his torn mind. He muttered a few incoherent words and continued his slow crawl towards the proverbial "gates of hell." He laughed to himself, "maybe hell is my last sanctuary..." Finally he came to a stop and rested his broken limbs and mind. He sent a large shockwave through the gate with his jedi powers, then slumped into unconciousness, hoping that vengeance would come soon.

There I edited it. Also sorry for my ignorance, I was just too excited about joining in to read it through thouroughly ))

The falconlike council member turned as the shockwave rolled through the former prison. "You'll have to excuse me, young Silvien, it sounds like another of those giant worms is trying to eat us alive" she said cheerily, turning and dashing off. The local wildlife still hadn't learned that they tended to get sliced and diced when they attacked this particular asteroid, and the council members took turns trying to drill in that lesson.

She snatched a helmet and breather from the door beside the shuttleport, placing it over her mouth and beaklike nose to help her breath in the thin atmosphere on the surface. She pressed a series of buttons on one of the control panels, opening the airlock door. Long flight feather seemed to grow from her wings, although in truth they had merely been retracted like cat claws, almost doubling their length as she took to the air, flapping furiously to rise in the thin air.

She was surprised to see a humanoid lying next to the shuttleport entrance, although she did not show it. She reached down to check the being for a pulse of some sort, or any other indication that he might be alive.

The Drakellyn, for that was the race of the lizardlike creature, only had vague snippets of what happened next. He could faintly remember the touch of two fingers to his throat. After that he slipped back into his deep slumber. Feverish dreams troubled his sleep, a race a from planet to planet, dog-fights in asteroid belts, the hiding and the running, seeing posters of his own face in bounty bars across the galaxy, the restless jedi chasing him on and on, and finally his young apprentices face, smirking down at him, ready to drive a saber into his chest. As these images haunted him words of terror escaped from his mouth, "vengeance..." he muttered, "treachery..."

After a little searching, Havec was relieved to find a pulse on the lizard being. She sighed in relief, picking him up in her thin arms that were stronger than they looked, and using her training to lighten him enough that her wings could support the two of them. "We'd better get you inside, dear, and figure out what's making you so upset" she said, jumping down the shuttle chute and spreading her wings to slow the fall, gliding down to a reasonably soft landing.

A small droid skittered up to her, automatically checking the new being's life signs, and scanning him for weapons or explosives. "Put a call through to the drones in the medic hall, ask them to send a first aid kit down to air lock three, please" she asked the droid, speaking to it with the same sweet voice she always seemed to use.

Dreams continued to race through the lizardman's mind, clouding his thought. Occasionally spasms racked his feverish body. There was one though that manged to break through. "My lightsaber..." moaned the creature in his sleep. His whole life as a Jedi had been devoted to making himself the perfect lightsaber. He poured his soul into working on that saber. If the sith found it it could be destroyed. Unconciously his hand flicked to his right hip, where his saber usually rested. It was not there. Suddenly he sat straight up, eyes looking around the room in a delirious way. He saw a female creature with a sooting voice, metal walls, an airlock closing. He lay back and sighed. He was not unconcious this time, just tired to his core. With one last hopeful look he searched for his lightsaber. He saw it resting on a search droid. Relieved he closed his eyes, and sighed again. No one would find him here. He was safe.
