Raz rolled his. "I wish i got that much attention." He turned to the new girl. "The name's Raz and what might yours be."

"Foolish? For meditating and falling? I tried to stop myself didn't I? I held on to the side..." He turned to Raz, "Anytime you want that match, I'm Ready." Rezzira lifted up a body and dragged it into one of the graves.

Half a mile off, Shirn and Tiram were again arguing about their plans, Shirn tried to again explain the problem to Tiram, "They will not answer my call until later at night, we need a diversion to lead them into the creatures lair, then they will answer the call to aid their Kin, so, go into town and bring someone back here." Tiram looked back, "Me? Why can't you go into town, you know your way better anyway?" Shirn replied, "What will look better for villagers to see, A man dressed in all black, who is looking for someone to come with them for "Daein's work" especially when we are not in Daein!, OR, a General, slightly wounded at that, who is asking for some aid?" Tiram laughed, "You have a good point, looks supicious with you going in...fine I'll bring someone back here, and you..locate their lair."

A crash came from behind, and suddenly there were a lot more people surrounding her. Initially flustered by the quiet scene being flooded with people, she couldn't say a word in response to any of them. As the surprise faded, and she took a hold of her senses, she was able to begin to make out just what had happened. "Um... sure, I'd like that very much, but you might want to attend to him first. I mean, he just fell off the roof and it looked like it hurt a little." Then someone else tried again to get her attention, luckily this time she wasn't in a daze so now the message came in to her clearly. "Well, I'm Demi. I know, for some reason I'm a bit of a magnet for it. Not something that I'm really able to help, much as I'd like to at times." Demi walked a bit out into the open, and examined the dead, seeing if there was anyone that she knew among them. A bit passed, and she came back satisfied that there was nobody personal to bury. Yeah, like I have anybody personal to me at all.... "I'm ready to go inside whenever....." She let out in a deep breath as she leaned against the wall, the uneven rocks on the ground were making her unable to stand well on her own. The fact that she was weary and keeping her eyes open and cheerful and her demeanor happy was hard enough.

Jakub walked outside, rubbing his eyes. "Quit talking so loudly..." Once he opnened them and looked around he saw Demi and c0cked his head. "Hey....who's the newbie?" He walked over to her and looked down with a grimace. "Aren't you a little young to be fighting a war...?" Vice coughed loudly, as to draw attetnion away from Jakub's question. Vice stood silently pondering Rezzira's. A cabin half a mile away? How didn't we notice it...unless....it was just recently put up... "It's fine, I was just about finished anyway." He stabbed the shovel into the ground and walked toward Rezzira. "This cabin...where did you spot it at?"

Inside Nero quickly looked around each corner of his wing. He quickly ran back to his room and took a large object covered in cloth out into the back of the fort. Excited, he immediately unwrapped it and lifted the tome to read its contents. Lightning... A grin came onto his face as he flipped the pages and slowly repeated the spell to himself, memorizing it. "Here goes...Lightning!" A quick bolt shot down, striking a nearby tree. Moments later, he fell to his knees; His arm stunned. "Gahh...." Once he heard the voice of the others, he quickly picked the tome up and ran back to his room silently.

"After the crash," He paused, "That pulled me out of my meditation for a little" He seemed unhappy at this, "I scanned the surroundings to see where it happened, and as I was looking, there was a clearing about half a mile northeast of here in the middle of it was a small cabin, looks a little run down." Maybe some old hermit or something though." He paced around, periodically swinging his Wo Dao.

A few miles off, Tiram dismounted his horse and entered a small village, nearby citizens greeted him, and offered to help treat his wound, Determined to follow his part of the plan, he took off to the local tavern. I just gotta find some--perfect He entered a small alley way and saw a girl in her late teens practicing with a wooden sword. He approached calmly and cleared his throat, She turned, nervous at his approach, yet he had no weopon drawn..yet, she entered a stance with her wooden sword, "Who are you?..What do you want?" Tiram forced himself to keep his hands by his sides, not drawing any weopons, "My name is General Tiram, I am here looking for some assistance, and I think a young fighter like yourself might be able to help." She lowered her sword, but did not kept focused on his hands, "What do you want me to do?" He calmly replied, "I was part of a team sent to handle a rebel mercenary pack, intent on overtaking the throne, and I think that someone may be needed to infiltrate their camp, and bring them into a trap." Fear struck across her face for just a moment, "If they find out what I'm doing.." He forced a smile, "You will be protected, I will not be too far away from the camp, if something happens I'll be able to help." She takes a step forward and stops "What am I getting from this?" Tiram paused, racking his brain, realizing he and Shirn had not thought that out. "For starters, I can get you a better Sword." She began to consider this, "This is only a practice sword, I fight with my Iron Blade." "I can get you a Silver Blade, or perhaps a Wind Edge if you would like." "Fine" She said, "My name is Marissa." She followed him out of the ally and back to his horse. They mounted his horse and he began to ride back to the cabin.

She notid that the door opened, and it was only by luck she wasn't knocked over. Ah, another person. How many are coming outside today? How many of them are there in general? Of course, this sudden awareness stopped her from being shocked by his suddenly coming over to where she was. The towering figure, at least from her point of view, made little difference because she was used to being the tiny little girl. Its what he said that kind of threw her off, even though it shouldn't have. "War?" She found herself repeating out loud in a questioning manner while bringing her hands back to her sides and standing up on her own again. "Well, I don't think I could do too well in a war, I mean I'm not all that skilled in combat techniques. But I'm sure I could help in some manner...." And then, there was a crash, one that shook the area around and came with a surprisingly strong shockwave of sound, due to her weak exhaustion-induced state Demi fell over onto the ground.

Vice nodded. "Jakub, we head out later once we've though of a plan." He turned to Rinae. "Would you care to join us? We could use a healer with us just in case....but first..." He walked into the fort and and came back out holding a long staff. "I'd like you to have this. I kept it upon leaving the war." He handed her the staff, hoping she could put it to some good use. "Just pulse your magic through there. So long as you have that you won't be needing your book anymore...although...it would still be nice to have around." Vice sighed and looked to Demi. "Yes...we're the Reino Mercenaries. We've been enlisted in the war to help the resistance. If you don't want to get involved, I suggest you get moving. If you want to help, you should talk to Nero, he's just inside. I apologize for cutting our conversation short but we need to attend to some business." He and Jakub started walking, waiting for Rinae's answer when they heard the crash. "What the hell!?" Jakub drew his bow and aimed in the direction.

The crash nearly dismounted Tiram and Marissa, but by a stroke of luck they managed to maintain their balance, upon reaching the cabin, they dismounted and walked inside. "Shirn, I have our assistance." "Shirn turned to face Marissa and Tiram, "Tiram...you brought a young myrmidon...why?" Tiram shrugged, "I had my General's Instinct about her, I think she can help just fine." Marissa looked at Shirn and said "So..you need me to help lure the traitors into some trap?" Shirn looked at Tiram for a moment before returning his eyes to Marissa "Yes, however we are mostly aiming for their leader, his name is Rezzira, and he is a skilled swordmaster trained and raised in Daein, now he has come to give the mercenary group the strength and skill they needed to become a true threat to the Throne." Marissa paused upon hearing the name, "I've heard of him, he's too skilled in swordsmanship for me, theres no way I could stand a chance if something went wrong." Shirn thought about this for a moment and said, "Go without your sword, if you are unarmed, you will not be treated as a threat, I manged to get one of my gargoyles ready to "chase" you to their camp." She looked at him, "You have gargoyles..how? And how do you expect me to lure them into your trap?" Shirn laughed, "This is easy, the gargoyle chases you, and you ask for an escort to return to your village, and you'll take them through a "short-cut" you know that will bring you right into the Ikana Forest, where the Bael have made a very comfortable home, and will kill any that disturb them." Marissa thought this through for a moment and said "How do I know your Bael won't just kill me...and you didn't tell me how you own them." Shirn replied, "I "own" them because of a family heirloom, and as for how you won't get hurt, I'm sure they will protect you...and Tiram will be close to help make sure you are safe." "Ok, I'll go..where is this camp?"

The crash surprised Rezzira, and in haste, he gained his footing, and held his Wo Dao, ready to fight anything that approaches, "What was that?" He looked around for a bit, and lowered his sword, but continued to practice his formations, and footwork.

The Reino Mercenaries? I sure haven't heard of them, but then again I've never paid much attention to that stuff. They'll wind up making a name for themselves with the kind of power they have, but they might get themselves elimanated with what they face. Sounds pretty epic. Which leaves me with a really tough choice. To join the adventure and have a load of fun, or take the safe route and keep to my original plan? Demi pondered to herself as she stood up, a small smile curving to her face. Well, I'm sure my abiities will develop a great deal faster with these guys, and who knows? They might be in ust enough of a bind to not care what a freak of nature I am. I mean, what I do would scare any normal-headed person to insanity. I don't like the hunts nosiree. But, yes everything points to me joining! The fun, the power gain, my safety sort of, financially, and who knows, I just might make a friend in the midst of it all. Oh wow, this is going to be very interesting and fun!.
Demi finally got herself brushed off and fine again, so she went into the house through the open front door. It was a bit warmer inside, no wind and no cold air. Demi was a bit pepped on this new adventure idea so she could support herself for the moment, so she paced around the floor for a while, as if waiting for something to happen.

Nero walked down the hall with his arm carefully wrapped up in his cloak when he saw a girl walking toward him. "Uhh...can i help you...?" His face contorted with confusion, he hid his arm inside his cloak hoping it wouldn't be seen. "you look new...are you looking to join?"

"Well, whatever it was, it's gone. Jakub, go get us some Elixirs and well be on our way in a few hours." Jakub nodded and headed inside, flicking Nero on the head as he passed. Vice turned to Rinae, awaiting an answer.

Demi saw that he was hiding something, but it probablly wasn't her buisness at all so she didn't say a thing to him about it. Besides, there was much more.... entertaining business to attend to. "Well, yes I guess thats what the main reason I'm in here right now is. So, is there some sort fo application process to use, do you guys just say, 'you're in.' and leave it at that, what?"
Demi noticed that her hair was getting in her face much more than usual, even though it didn't bother her when she was outside. Strange.... Just about then she felt a bit of a blow or something akin to it inside her head, and everything became fuzzy. "Oh.... Hey, is there anywhere I could sit down for a sec, my legs are a bit tired...."

Nero took her arm and led to a large chair. "Well, we don't have any type of application, but just give me your name and what you'd like to contribute and I'll keep it in mind for when the commander comes back. He took out a small notepad and tried to balance it on his leg as he prepared to write the recruit's information. Jakub walked out from the back room and smacked Nero on the head again. "Hey twirp." Nero glared at Jakub and flicked his wrist, sending a flare toward him and lighting his pant leg on fire. "Ahhh! You rat!" Jakub pattd it out and left out the front door. "i'll get you back!"

Wha... um alrighty then..... Demi thought as she sudden;y was pulled over into a chair, which she nearly collapsed into. Remembering that this might not look so good, she straightened out, being happy to at least get off of her legs, although she prefered it to the dizzing feeling she had in her head now. "Um..." Demi began, this wasn't something she was prepared for, though she saw it coming a mile away. thankfully, one of the others came along and gave her some time to think by annoying Nero. He responded by setting his leg on fire, causing Demi to giggle, her hands coming up to her mouth to keep from laughing too loudly.
Quieting herself became easy, as she concentrated on what to tell Nero about herself. It couldn't be too revealing, but it had to be enough to get them to think she was worth their time. What a puzzle.... "Well Nero, I'm not much for combat, pretty bad at it actually. But I do know some healing magic, if that helps. Oh, and I'm real, real good with money and finances." Demi rmassaged her head a little, this headache was starting to get to her. Her eyes trailed off to where the other person went, wondering how he was dealing with the hole in his pants the fire must have made.

As I woke up and glanced out of my door, I noticed somebody who must have been a new member. I quickly put my wings back inside the narrow slits in my robe, then put on my cape, designed to hide these slits. I walked outside.

"Hey. You a new member?" I said, being careful to make sure she didn't get freaked out by my being a dragonkin. I tried to see kind, but I didn't know how effective it would be.

Raz practiced his combat techniques. I wonder how wealthy these people are? He walked up to Rezzira."Want to spar now?"

"If your ready." He drew both his blades and entered his practiced Duel Bladed Stance. I hope this works out..I'm only fast with my Wo Dao... He watched Raz closely waiting for any sign of motion Then again, after Tiram, this shouldn't be too hard, especially when my life is not on the line


Tiram pointed ahead of him, "It's just over there Marissa, I'll command the gargoyle to charge you, it may hurt you, but only slightly." Marissa nodded, and dashed toward the camp, the Gargoyle picked up speed and hunted Marissa, entering the clearing she shrieked and "slipped' she pulled herself back as the Gargoyle came ever closer, lance in hand, Rezzira heard the shriek and turned, seeing the gargoyle, he sheathed one blade and rushed the beast, the gargoyle upon sight of Rezzira, tried to attack, swinging the lance, which Rezzira hastily duck, then he thrust his blade into the Gargoyle, as it slowed down, it tried to hit Rezzira again, however unsuccesfully, Rezzira retaliated the attempt and finished the beast, "Are you ok?" he held out his hand to help Marissa up, "Yes" she replied, "A little shaken but I'm fine." Rezzira looked around the forest for a moment, "Head inside, look for either Nero or Vice, they can help you." She replied quickly...somewhat quicker than she would have liked, "Could you tell me where your leader Rezzira is?" Rezzira stared confused for a moment, "I'm not the leader of this group, Vice is." She too seemed shocked at this information, "I was told you were the leader...ah well I'll just talk to Vice." She thought to herself So...This Tiram fellow lied to me.."Rezzira's the leader" well if they want him dead..I might as well try to loot all I can first (((Though by appearance shes a myrmidon...shes a thief.)))

I was waiting for Nero to write it all down, so he could have it done with. It didn't seem like there was anything else to do, still, I wanted to see what he had to say to me afterwards. Personally, it might not be best to mention my offensive magic or summons. The offensive magic, I would have to fake using Tomes. I could use them, its just way too awkward and I'm eventually going to accidentally do it naturally... its just a big mess. As for the summons.... they are my ace in the hole, I'll use them if they are really nessessary, but I don't think they will have to come out for a good while....
Of course, it seemed appropriate that while she was waiting for him to get done, that someone else would come along and find her. She really had to get that one girl to show her the rest of the people in this place, the first few days were going to be awkward. "Um... Yeah I'm new here......" It was only at the end that she looked over at him enough to realize that he wasn't exactly.... human. Her eyes widened for just a split-second before she caught herself and faded back into her smile, masking her temporary surprise. I shouldn't be so judgemental of others just for being different, I'm stranger than that... if the dragony parts are the only thing to be different about him that is. "I don't really know who everyone is, so I guess the first few days are gonn be awkward...." Just then, there was a loud shriek from nearby, like a death cry. Then someone else came into the room, and Demi got a glimpse of the scene outside.

Nero finished writing down the needed information when he saw Xaviar walking into the room. "Good morning." He greeted in a cheerful voice. He averted his gaze back to Demi and was about to question her further when he heard screams coming from outside. "Demi, follow me..." He stood up and quickly made his way out the door to see a young girl. "Who's she?" Jakub shrugged. "How'm I supposed to know?...Geez..." After he had explained the staff to Rinae, Vice made his way over to the rest of the crowd. "What's going on here?" He made his way through to see a young looking girl. "Who are you, exactly?" Since when did we become so popular? "Vice, she was being chased by a Gargoyle when Rezzira saved her." "Gargoyle, eh? At this time of day? That's odd...but what hasn't been lately, eh? Haha! Welcome to the Reino Mercenaries, Little Lady!" He offered his hand to her for a shake when Nero approached. "Um...Vice?" "Yes, Nero?" "Demi's application is complete. Good, take care of..." He searched for aname but realized she hadn't told him yet. "...her, and follow up on your work." "Yes, commander." "Jakub, we'll have to save our current mission for later, go rest up some." "Yes, sir." Vice turned his attention to Rezzira. "Nice work taking out that Gargoyle, I'm leaving you in charge of the girl for now so we can get all of this other stuff figured out." He pulled Raz aside from the group. "I know you're new here...but this is a bit of an emergency. Would you accompany Jakub to the cabin that Rezzira mentioned? I've seen your style and know that you're quite skilled incase you should have to fight. I understand if you should refuse, of course."

Deep in the heart of Spira, a figured kneeled before the king. "Sire...I apologize for--" "Silence! How is it possible that one of my most trusted advisors failed do defeat a feckless group of mercenaries!?" Cyrus flinched at the uproar of his king's voice. "No matter...we have Ashnard as our ally. With Daein's army at my disposal victory is imminent." He paused and reached for a black, glistening blade; His trusted Dredsend. "As for you...you've failed me for the last time..." Cyrus rose to his feet. "Sire! This....this isn't necessary! I promise you, I will not fault you again!" "No, no you won't. I'm making sure of it." With one full swipe of the Dredsend all that could be heard was a blood curdling yell, and the sound of steel clashing with the hard marble floor -- a soung that was well known throughout the castle walls.

Demi rushed outside to find out that there was a gargoyle attack on someone else new, and all of a sudden she wasn't the newest around anymore. Wow, that went fast.... If its monsters we are up against, then I don't think I have a problem with it, I'll be far away from them.... Demi wondered just who this girl was, but it didn't really matter yet. Who knows, maybe she's here to join up as well. Demi got pulled over to Vice, who after looking at it a small bit, approved more or less and dismissed them so he could handle the rest of the chaos that was taking place here. Demi glanced over to the Gargoyle corpse a little, surprised herself that she wasn't disgusted by the remains. Demi soon realized that Vice was gone, and she was sort of curious to get on with things, find out what to do next, and so on. "So Nero, what do we do now?" She said while keeping her smile up, had to hide the fact that she was tired and hungry, couldn't let it on just yet. Why am I keeping it a secret anyway? Its not like they plan to do something to me while I have my guard down.... I hope.

Nero thoguht o himself. "Well...I'm not sure. Normally we're booked with missions, but since we joined the resistance we havn't gotten alot. Why don't you come inside and rest up, after traveling all that time you must be hungry." He gave her a kind smile as they walked back inside and approached the kitchen area of the guild. "So, Demi, you never di quite answer my question. What abilities can you contribute to our Guild?" He listened on intently.

Demi went inside with him, her stomach making a growl at the mention of something to eat, which made her blush a bit. They went back in and were walking to the kitchen, but that wasn't the issue. Demi suddenly looked confused by his question, mostly because she thought she had already answered it. "Well, I thought I told you already, but I'm very good with finances, and I know some magic." The words slipped without her knowing, mostly from lack of concentration, she forgot to add the 'healing' part to it. No biggie, just do what you can with tomes, resist the urge to do without and this'll be a breeze for yeh Demi girl.

Raz grew impatient."Are you ready Rezzira,that gargoyle did not stand a chance against you,but I'm no gargoyle. I also do not trust that girl." He brought up his sword."Let the fight begin."

Marissa glared at Raz, "First of all, my name is Marissa, and second, what makes you think I'm so untrustwory?" Rezzira drew his other blade and looked at Marissa, "There's been alot of problems recently is all...and I will admit, it does seem odd that a gargoyle would travel by day." Looking back to Raz, "Anytime." He slowly, carefully worked his way toward Rez, holding both blades ready...Marissa, thought to herself I should be watching to see how Rezzira fights..but then again, Its not my job to fight, I might as well head inside and see what I can take She walked through the damaged doors, and hearing something from a nearby door, she enters what she recognized was the kitchen, and saw a man and a young girl in the room. She entered, "Uh...my names Marissa, Rezzira just helped me from a gargoyle outside..so I thought it might be ok if I stepped in for a bit, I didn't to be too close to his match with" She pretended to try to remember the name, "I think Rezzira called him Raz, So whats going on here anyway, this place looks a little...damaged."

In the forests close by, Tiram watched Rezzira spar with Raz He's trying two swords, It would work better if he had a second Wo Dao, ah well, means its easier for me later, Raz might be a problem though...already suspicious, and they want to go to the cabin and find Shirn all alone, hmm he's smarter than that, likely got some creature or another hidden somehow, either way I'm confident he won't let himself be beaten by anyone who goes there.

Back at the cabin, Shirn paced around, hoping his plan will succeed, damned creatures only fight during the night... He was looking through various tombs kept in the cabin, in case something was of a necrotic nature.

"We got into a battle with some troops from Daein. Thankfully, we held the battle out until it was daytime, and then they couldn't fight. Our group joined the resistence recently, thus the attack. Spira's dictatorship can't go on. I, personally, have always believed that government's job is to keep a country in order and protect it. If they fail to do this, it should be our right to overthrow them and form a new form of government. Obviously, we can't be the new leaders or anything, I, at least, know nothing about politics. We need a group of trustworthy people. But this government just isn't working." I said, looking over at Marrisa.

Jakub walked into the kitchen and looked at the three. "What is this, story time? Go get some work done..." He shook his head and walked out side with his bow ready. As he watched the two spar he tapped his foot impatiently. He sighed and turned his back. "Raz, let me know when you're ready to head out!" He called, waving his hand back as he re-entered the guild. upon coming back to the kitchen he sat down beside Xaviar. "So what's so facinating about this conversation, eh?" Nero shot a glare at him as he grinned back. "Calm down, kid. Really though, what's going on? This seems intense." His face grew serious; An expression Nero had rarely seen on Jakub.
