I smiled reassuringly at Josh, even if he never looked my way. I thought that it would hopefully help since I didn't really smile a lot. I continued to smile slightly for him and decided to do it for the otehrs when they got up there as well. After all, it would help. And if they decided to smile back, it would hopefully help me.....

The Sorting Hat, now sitting atop Josh's head, said in a husky "Your a rather social one, aren't you? Yes, I think you'llbe good for GRYFFINDOR!" the Hat shouted this last part aloud, and the Gryffindor table burst out in applaud. As Josh took off the hat and went over to his new house, Proffesor McGonagall read another name from the list "Ghiac, Xavier!"

I now felt my body become nervous. I really, really hoped that I was in the same class as one of the boys who had tried to talk to me earlier. At least I knew that they were nice...I bit my lip and forced myself to smile once more, although it was a small smile.

i stood thare nervously as i waited to be sorted.......

I heard my name being called. I closed my eyes.
"You'll get through this" I told myself. I walked up the stairs, looking around. I saw Josh, who was staring at me. I waited for the hat to sort me. Then, I noticed something. The previously black robe Josh was wearing now had red lining. I closed my eyes.
"Hufflepuff" I thought.

I smiled at Xaviar, then crossed my fingers. I hoped that he'd get the place he wanted, and hopefully something that I had a chance of getting. I looked around. Now, who else did I know.....

I looked at the people I knew, which at this point was Vander, Josh, and Rinae from the train, as well as my cousin Amber. She was looking at me, clearly hoping I would get into Hufflepuff. I closed my eyes very tightly.

((Well, in the movies, the robes have lining. But at the beginning, they're all black. This seemed like the time it likely received that lining.))

Josh smiled at Rinae as he headed to the Gyriffindor table. He had know idea if she had seen him. Hmm I really thought I would be in Ravenclaw. But I guess the Hat saw something in me that I myself could not. Besided Gyriffindors are known for bravery and that's never a bad thing.

As Xavier put on the hat, it thought before speaking "Another Ghiac, huh? Interesting, very interesting. Better put you in HUFFLEPUFF!" This time the Hufflepuff table began clapping and cheering.

Kayla clapped for Xavier, even though she didn't really know him. "So, so far there's been a student for Gryffindor, and a student for Hufflepuff" she observed, "Makes me a little nervous... I shouldn't really worry though, I'm sure I'll get into a good house."

As Xavier took off the hat and went to his new house, Professor McGonagall read the next name "Malfoy, Kayla!"

I looked to Ira encouragingly, and nodded to her, but did not smile. I didn't know her at all. Although, that only made me think of where I was headed even more.............Now I had leaned towards getting Hufflepuff or Gryfindor so that I wouldn't be alone.

I sat down a glanced at my robes. Sure enough, they had gained a yellow lining. I looked at Amber, who seemed glad I was in the same house.

Josh watched Xavier make his way to the Hufflepuff table. Josh saw him talking to a girl older than him. I wonder who that is? Well, that's not imortant what's important is that he got the house that he wanted to be in. Why would he want to be in Hufflepuff anyway?
