I wondered what Aseren had meant by his comment earlier, but then noted my surroundings. We were headed into this cave, which looked to be a tomb. A few minutes later, we were pretty far down, and it was getting colder. I watched in amazement at the torches, and a feeling told me not to touch them. I started to believe that feeling when I saw a man touch one of them and disappear. I gasped, but kept my mouth shut. I then kept my eyes down and kept walking. I thought again by what Aseren meant, and shivered. I was wearing short sleeves, and it was getting much colder down here. I then looked at Aseren, concealing my thoughts or feelings from showing. I then looked around slowly, and heard Aseren say not to touch anyhing until we do. I replied coldly. "Don't worry about me, then. I have no reason to touch anything, especially after seeing a man disappear by touching one." I then looked away, examining the walls.These walls....they appear ancient... I kept looking, but asked Aseren, "Where are we?" I kept my voice cold. I shivered again, and focused on other things. |

Duke tried his best to blend in to the crowd of Ninja now running towards the gate. Master, i'm in. Good; hang back in the shadows. On my command take out the backmost ninja and work your way towards us. Make sure you pick up a few weapons on the way. Sevear noticed the lights hanging there unsupported, "But it can't be..." he whispered to himself. Ninjas were disappearing and noone knew why. Pan was only several feet ahead of him. He hurried to his side and whispered into his ear, "Pan, what exactly are we dealing with here?" He began to shiver. |

I walked closer to Sevear and Pan, hoping to hear an answer. I trailed behind them, but touched Sevear's back so that he knew that I was behind him. I continued to look around innocently. |

Pan walked and then heard another voice. This time it was from Sevear, who had shown up at his side. He asked,"What exactly are we dealing with?" Pan could tell he was nervous at the sight of ninja disappearing. "Long ago this place was a dining hall for an emperor, so the legend says. A party was held in honor of the emperor, but for one reason or another, the emperor believed many of the guests were plotting to kill him, and so ordered his men to massacre the entire entourage. They pleaded with him, but instead of mercy, he tied each of them up and burned them with the candles in his hall. What we may be looking at are the spirits of the partygoers, each represented by their own light. If you watch closely, you can see that the flames never weaken their fire." Pan continued on," This place has traps, not of physical form, but mental traps. Do not do anything to anything here unless I give the okay. I will not tell you what to do, so as to keep the ninja's guessing." He stared ahead at the door at the end of the hall. The phantom door. Last time he read about this, a phantom claw grabbed the poor soul who opened it and dragged him inside, shutting the door behind them. He whispered to Sevear, "Whatever happens, do not enter that room." It would seem strange to Sevear, for this was the only door in the entire hallway other than where they came in. The dark voice entered Pan's head again. "I see into your mind stranger from the surface. You are not worthy of the talent you seek. The traps ahead change with the seasons, and what you know in your mind might not be what is." Pan still did not know if he was just hearing a voice or not. He hoped that voice was wrong, whether it be his voice he made up or otherwise. Changing mind traps!? |

Aseren looked at the door. It was an odd door. The door was not centered in the wall. It was placed slightly to the right side of it, as if their used to be 2 doors here. He beckoned Pan to him and said,"This is the only door in this hallway we have not entered through, correct?" Pan's answer really meant little to him anyway. The door was partially open, as if someone had beaten him here. Tom! He marched to the front and opened the door. You aren't beating me to the punch! Aseren was right. Tom wouldn't beat him into that room. Aseren went wide eye'd at what he saw in the room. It was... |

Sevear noticed Hiroki walking behind him. He gave her a sly nod and continued. "Pan; I feel that now is better time than ever to share with you what's been happening to me over the last few days. The reason i've been so, well, different is because i've seen this place before. Not in books, but in my dreams. I know that sounds crazy but its the truth. Every time I have the dream I wake up before I get the chance to open the door. I know not what lies behind it, but I feel like I am being beckoned. Please, let me open the door," he whispered, his voice trailing off as they approached the door. Duke; get out of here. Now. I'm not sure what we're up against, but it can't be good. No matter what happens, just stay away. |

I couldn't hear much of the reply, so I looked to Sevear to update me. "Well?" I barely whispered. I then shivered again. Now was not a good time and place for me in these clothes. I was wearing a thin outfit, with short sleeves and pants, and it was made for the countries' hot weather and temperatures below 60 F. Not for this freezing 40 F degree temperature. Then, I heard Sevear talk about his dreams, and I told him, "If you woke up like you would from a nightmare, then you shouldn't open it. Nightmares are a way of your body and mind telling you that whatever your nightmare was about wasn't good." I said, shaking my head. "Now, what did Pan say?" |

Sevear turned to Hiroki and noticed her shiver. He took off his over coat and handed it to her. "You need it more than I do," he whispered. "To be honest i'm not all that sure of what is happening here. But whatever you do, do not touch anything. Apparently there are traps; not physical traps like most would expect, but mental ones," he replied. |

Pan saw the masked Xel march past him to the door. Pan then remembered something. He still has the book! If we lose that book, we lose any attempt at the weapon within! "Don't open it!" Too late. Pan's eyes went wide with what happened next. It was unexpected. He never would have seen it coming! Nothing... Nothing had happened when Xel opened the door. No claw, no disappearing, no second door. Nothing. Pan's face went white and he had to force his lunch from coming back up. The traps DID change. And I only knew this one and the one for the hidden room. He heaved and made a gagging sound. The voice took the opportunity to reenter his head. "I see into your mind, stranger from the surface. The talent does not tell lies but only tells truths. You will die by your own hand, and you will never leave this place seeing the same as you do now." Pan nearly wet himself, he was so horrified. He turned to the others and whispered the words,"this isn't how it should be." |

I thanked Sevear for the coat, and put it on. I then saw Pan gag and turn white. I ran over to him and pulled out a few pills that were hidden from the ninjas. I popped one into his mouth, which should decease the feeling of nausea. I then looked at the door, wondering what was wrong with ths place. "Ew dluohs pots won." I said to Aseren. "Ti si gnitteg oot suoregnad ereh." I looked to him worriedly. "Won." |

Aseren opened the door to reveal another room. Lights went on again. It looked exactly like the room they just came out of, except there were several doors on each wall. He motioned for the others to walk in. He took their warnings to heart, but still pressed onward. He tripped on a stone and fell forward. The gravity was different here. He couldn't put his finger on it though. He picked up the rock and threw it at a door. A ghost hand caught the pebble before it hit the door and disappeared. Each door was slightly opened ajar, revealing a mystery light through each of its cracks. Aseren stepped forward again and surveyed the situation. He opened the Book and began to read from it. Suddenly, a Haunter appeared and flosted through the squad. It paid no head to the intruders, but just floated by. Another soon followed. They were heading for the door. Before Aseren could realise what was going on, the Haunters had closed the door, which now disappeared. They cackled and vanished just like the door. |

I slowly entered the room, and gasped when the door that was their only escape disappeared. I turned to Aseren, almost too afraid to speak, and said, "Won kool ta tahw uoy did! Sknaht ot uoy, ew era kcuts ereh rof doog! Tahw eht lleh si gnorw htiw uoy?!?!" I only whispered it, but it was harsh, nonetheless. I groaned and leaned my head on the wall. Suddenly, my head pushed the brick that it was leaning on backwards, and I heard something squeak. I jumped up and back, running into Aseren, just as the wall collapsed into a gaping hole, threatening to swallow anyone near it up. |

Sevear followed Hiroki into the room and heard her whispering sharply in a harsh tone. Suddenly a large hole opened where she was, and Hiroki ran into Aseren. Sevear pulled her away, because he wasn't sure what the masked ninja would do. "Hiroki, things are going downhill, fast. We're separated from half our group, as well as weaponless. I just hope our Pokemon are faring better," he whispered into her ear. ((I turn 14 in exactly 7 days. So we're about the same age. I call everyone ma'am, or sir for that matter, so don't take it personally.)) |

I sighed as Sevear pulled me away. "Thank you for that. And yes, are pokemon should be facing better. Kinar and Growlithe are together, and Duke is smart enough to stay away from trouble. But," I sighed deeply. "I wonder how Ben is faring." I said all that in a voice that only Sevear and Pan could hear. |

Growlithe and Kinar were together outside the cave, watching the troops of ninja do their thing. I can sense something wrong. I don't know what it is. Growlithe looked at Kinar, then used extreme speed and dashed through the ninjas before they even saw it coming. Even if they had, YOU try catching a pokemon using Extreme Speed! I smell a fox smell again. Must be that Lucario... |

Duke smelled Growlithe before he saw it. He knew where it was going, and decided that it would go there as well, despite his masters orders. |

They met at the entrance at the bottom of the stairwell, leading to the first room. Growlithe barked in pokemon,"I fear the worst is happening. Where are the others?" Master... hang on. |

"They are down the hallway. Make sure not to touch anything; I watched Ninja disappear by touching things," Duke told Growlithe and Kinar. "You're right; we haven't seen Ben yet. Maybe he escaped while he still could!" Sevear whispered so only Pan and Hiroki could hear. |
