Hey I had an Idea about making a forum like a jokes discussion thread where people can start making jokes, what websites jokes come from, and telling ones we heard. Is this a bad Idea or can we do this? Who do i contact for this to happen? What a problem.

Does anybody know a good story written in journal form? I was thinking of making my next one like a journal...

Well, I'm kind of bored, so I'm going to tell everyone the names of the towns I have so far, as well as the description of each character as well.

Naiot is a small contienent south east of Johto and Kanto. Being a very weather-based country, it's towns use the weather to help with their lives. From Civoule City to the Pokèmon League, there are several weather hazards to get in the way of trainers. Wind, Rain, Heat, and other weather types to impede their journey. Naiot is for the trainers with the greatest endurance and stamina.

Name: George
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Brown, messy hair; Polo shirts; Blue pants.
Childhood History: George has never left Normanda Town before, but has always wanted to leave only as a trainer. When he was 10 years old, he found an injured Rattata on the outskirts of town. He took care of it, and in return the Rattata became his best friend. June went to the same school as George, and they always hanged out with each other and some of their other friends.
Pokèmon:
Raticate
Raticate has been with George almost all it's life. It will never forget when George saved it.

Name: June
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Appearance: Long, black hair; several different dresses.
Childhood History: June never told any of her friends that she was rich. She was rather embarrassed to tell them, because they would always want to come over to her house. She met George when she was 6, when she moved into town. They have known each other and been best friends since.
Pokèmon:
Zigzagoon
Zigzagoon has been June's favorite Pokèmon in her Pokèmon garden. She plays with it more than most of her other Pokèmon.

Name: Ralph
Age: 68
Gender: Male
Appearance: Short in size; Green shirt and shorts; White hair.
Childhood History: When Ralph was younger, he stayed around Normanda Town a lot. He was best friends with George's grand father. He decided to leave one day, and he started up his own shop. His shop grew to several shops, and are now most of the Pokèmarts in Naiot are his. He came back to Normanda Town when he heard his best friend's grandson was born. He took care of George for a while, helping George's mother. This is when George's father started to work for Ralph. Now Ralph runs his shops, and sees George every once in a while.

Now the names of the towns:

Normanda Town - A quiet and tranquil town almost completely surrounded by mountains, this is a small town with just a few families.

Civoule City - A small city that has a gym. The gym leader here likes normal type Pokèmon. This town is pretty plain, other than the much larger Pokèmon Center.

Miran Town - On the edge of the water is this town. It's very close to Miran Cape, known for it's rare Pokèmon sightings. There is a gym and contest here. The gym leader like ghost types the most.

Asoral City - Almost always sunny, Asorol city is known for it's fire type gym leader and contest hall. The gym leader uses Sunny Day daily to keep the town working. (Switch the L and R in Asoral ^_^ )

Others will be said later...I need the names of about 6 other places, as well as the names of the gym leaders...

I find you to be very annoying.

Please shut up. :)

ANYWAY, I was wondering, would you guys kill me if I wrote a story that wasn't about POGEYMANS? I bet this question was answered somewhere else in this thread or this forum, but I don't want to look. I tried, but you know, I just got bored. Eh.

Even if I'm allowed to, I seriously doubt I'd write anything, because I suffer from a never-ending writer's block. Hee. Hee. Hee. Hee. Heesdgndfjk.

^No we wouldn't. I'm planning on making a fanfic that isn't about Pokemon, and AABM is well into his. (Oh dang. I think I just jinxed myself.)

And Sparky, SHUT UP.

I have a story called "The Elements", and nobody is commenting on it. What do you guys think I should do? ((Crimson, I read those books, How to write science fiction and Fantasy, along with the 38 most common mistakes and how to avoid them.))

Don't worry about it. Look at my story. Not very many people commented on it, and I got pretty discouraged and stopped writing for a while. But, when one of my friends infuriatingly (thanks a lot, DNA....) got me thinking and speculating on it again, I started writing again. And it was then I noticed how many views I had.

So, whenever I get discouraged, I look at the 1K views I have, and realize maybe people just don't have anything to say about it. Also, it may take a while for your story to get recognized. So, just hang in there.

T-dude7, I can tell you for personal experience, that views in your stories are multiplied when you do a nice-looking banner for them in your sig and then, they keep coming up every time you update the thread, that´s no lie, I´ve done it with all my stories (3) and it´s totally true.

I was only gone for a few days and you've already gone out bought/rent and read both of them, yes I know they're really short? Well, I suppose that's what dedication and time can do...I really liked Card's book, I learned a lot from it, since I typically don't even bother with either genre.

Anyway, don't worry about the lack of replies. I have a tiny amount of replies in comparison to how many stories I have on here. The Waiting Game sucks, but we have to play it online sometimes. And I haven't really commented on Ghosty, DNA, AABM, or Obsidian's stories in a while but they know that it isn't because of a lack of interest in their work. Some people, all over the Web not just here, only comment on very specific stories. On PsyPokes, I keep tabs on most of the stories but only comment on the new ones or the ones that need immediate help. I try to focus more on technical issues, because, after a while, the commentary becomes too subjective to taste and style. And, I feel I'm too fussy to do a really good job judging that sort of thing.

Banners are a good idea for advertising. They only really work if you go to a lot of different forums and not just one like I do.

There's nothing wrong with stories that aren't about Pokemon. Even original stories are accepted here. If you're planning on writing about a different series then keep in mind that not all series will be rewarding, I know Sneaky Sneasel (or whatever their username is now) had some ones about Mario and they didn't get any replies. The lack of comments can be really discouraging but just keep going at it. Off topic, but I'm trying to work on my stories too in between my busy schedule. Good luck though!

Heh, I'll be happy to have more time to read and write; I've been working on clearing out my schedule. I have so much to read...I must have at least 35 books on my ever growing list...I no sooner finish one before I add five more.

lol whoops, I have 81 views, 6 is the # of replies. But that book is really good. I told a friend of mine he should read it, and he said Orson Scott Card is the author of the Ender series, which he is obsessed with. It's really cool. About the your book thing, that's funny. I usually don't have more than 1 book on me at a time, as I don't often search for a new one if I have one. Right now I'm almost done with "The Shadow Thieves", which is a very funny, yet suspenseful book. I also figured out that Erin Hunter has 2 more series, as of right now, in the Warriors series. This book I recommend, believe it or not, higher then "Harry Potter". She writes brilliantly of the adventures of... well the cat's name changes. When he is a pet, he is Rusty. When a cat is and apprentice, the have a name like Graypaw or Firepaw. When they become a warrior, 'paw' is replaced by another word. Leaders have a name that ends in 'star' like 'Bluestar'. It's an awesome series.

The bad thing about my huge list is that as soon as I get into a reading mood I'll be done with them in a couple months. The trick is getting into that mood...

I need some new books to read. :/

I just finished Vampirates and Inkheart. I can't get myself to read Inkspell.

I have some books in my age-old "library", some Green Knoe (or something like that) books, plus that So You Want To Be A Wizard series, a book from the Land Of Elyon series, some odd chapter books here and there, and the first book from the Series of Unfortunate Events that I borrowed and never remembered to return, and The Wind In the Willows and I THINK I have The Borrowers somewhere.

Maybe you could pick me out a book from your expansive collection, Crimson?

I reccomend the "Warriors" series by Erin Hunter. She is a brilliant writer. Call me crazy, but I think she is better then J.K. Rowling, author of "Harry Potter".

Hm, well there's always The Giver and The Westing Game. If you've read The Giver then you should read Gathering Blue and The Messenger. Those two are independent books that connect a little in the end (or so I've been told), I myself haven't gotten around to reading them yet.

Then there are Hero Song and Fire Arrow by Edith Pattou, those are the first two books in a series. To my knowledge the next book still isn't out. She also has a book out called East, I'm sort of in the process of reading it and I've heard a lot of good about it.

I liked Tamora Pierce's The Lioness and The Protector of the Small both are quartets. Read The Lioness Quartet first, it's the predecessor to a lot of her other quartets. It wouldn't hurt to read The Immortals Quartet before reading The Protector of the Small Quartet. They're independent storylines, but there are references to each other eventually; reading them like that will keep you a little less confused than I was (I read The Immortals last...).

I'm also reading Gideon the Cutpurse by Linda Buckley-Archer. Eventually, I'm hoping to read Labyrinth by Kate Mosse, Black House by Stephen King and Peter Straub, and The Burried Pyramid by Jane Lindskold.

I'm not sure if I'll like the latter three but I like the first one so far. Is that a good place to start?

Well, I would, but I really don't know anything about Final Fantasy (presuming that's what it's about...I'm sure I checked in and checked it over before realising I had no idea what it was about. <<;)

I find that I can only read independant or Pokemon fiction here. I would dearly love to read AABM's story, Oracle of something or other, but I haven't the foggiest about Link and the world that he is set in, and a lot of the cameos would be lost on me.

So, I just stick to Pokemon fiction and my own fiction. :P

And seeing as the dear Xalia advertised...TDWH is going to get even more exciting in two chapters time. I'm just finding the time to write them. <<;

Oh, and Valentine: Read Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier. I adore that book, it's such a lovely read once you get half way in. THe beginning is a bit depressing, but it's a powerful and moving book. Read it. Now. :O
