Cool pic, Pokemaster ^_^
Okay, lesson 2!
I could sit here and explain how to make a sig step by step but why bother when Dr.Double Duel has so kindly created this (Even if none of the pictures are there)
When making a sig, you have to think logically. Consider size, color, file type. The most common file types are JPEG, GIF and PNG, so these would be best to use. JPEG often blurs a picture when used, so I'd recommend GIF or PNG for this work.
How big is your sig? Some people use overly big signatures, to "suit their ego size" or merely to put more into it. This isn't necessary at all. You can make beautiful and creative sigs in small spaces, they dont need to be 800x4.5billion to work well. A size I'd recommend for sigs is 500 pixels long by 90 pixels high - that's how big mine are, and it works nicely.
What colors are in your work? Have you got a color scheme? Here's some examples that I've made up that follow certain color schemes:
A summery color scheme, light and bright colors
A cooler, more wintery color scheme with more blues and whites
A greener, more "natural" or "solar" effect
Have a look at the colors used in these. See how they work together to create certain effects? Later on I'll create a chart of which colors can create what effects for you.
Now I said that this lesson would be a practical, and so it is. I want each of you to make me a signature, using color schemes.
You can choose to make one of any of these:
A Fire scheme with Fire Type Pokemon
A Water scheme with Water Type Pokemon
An Electric scheme with Electric Type Pokemon
or one of your own. Next time I'll run through picking out mistakes, and some ways to make your work more creative. A tip for you though - its the small details that people don't notice that makes the work something special!
Until next time, adieu. Professor Magus should be coming in to get started once he has 5 people in his class. ^_^

Woah, I have, 1...2...3... students! OMFG!The magic number! PWN!!!
I'll be teaching several things including:
Sigs-basic at first but it'll get more advanced later..
GlowSigs-Like the ones that CF makes...
Transperant Sigs-The kind that have a character poping out of the sig box...
Glowing Sprites-like the ones in the avatar gallery
Advance Recolours-haven't done this before so I'll be learning with you!
And some basic animation-just how to make an animation basicly...
Trainer Cards-Just some basic ones
Fake TCG cards-make your own Amphy's Ampharos!
The first lesson #1
Were starting with siggys yay!
The first step to making a sig is getting the pics you want in it first, as CF said goolge is a pic resource. If your making a pokemon sig you can find Ken Sugimori art in the Picdex (thanks the E4 for making such a wonderful data base now)
Colors are everythhing when making a sig, it helps keep balance, try making the back gorund not to noticable helps keep the picture in the sig the main focus. But also try not to keep it to dull or it will look to basic, something fancy is always nice to have in a background, like a pattern or a spiffy gradient, but try not to make it draw all the attention. Make the background match the picture for the sig also help (example: having a red background for a sig with fire-type pokemon)
Also getting rid of the white background on your pictures is vital (unless the background for the sig is white) so use that paintbucket to make it the same color as the background or just erase it.
Text needs to be readable, using midnight blue text on a black backgroun is not a good idea, this also helps balance, if you make the background dark go for a light text, or if your going for a dark text make the background light.
Size also is a big thing, you want you sig to be noticable but not too noticable, and you don't want it to small. My rule is if it's over 500 pixels in width and 500 pixels in hieght it's too big, if it's below 100 pixels in width and height it too small. I usually make my sigs 350 by 80 if nothing is coming out of the sig, if something is coming out of the sig it's usually about 350x150. Having a wide sig is usually more desirable than a tall sig.
Today we'll have homework, it's pretty easy so don't worry, it's to make a sig but it must meet the requirments below.
It' must have at least two pokemon in it, they must be the same type too.
It must be 350x80 pixels.
The background should match the pokemon (red for fire, blue for water, green for grass, etc.)
The text must be READABLE (no webdings) and it must not be blinding (no red on blue!) it must say what type the pokemon on the sig are.
Here's an example of what the sig should turn out to be like:
I'll give out extra credit to those of you who use a gradient for their background, and extra credit if you use pictures other than the ones in the Picdex. Oh yeah, and extra credit if you call me Magus-sensei

Here is my homework Magus-sensei, I thought polka-dots would be cool. (I thought fuschia was sorta the type color in my sig, I HATE PINK. )
The Gardeh is Psypoke, the ALakazam isnt. (At least I think)
Fwee, chickenpox. (Note, the Gardevoir looks distorted because it was so huge. I made the blue eyes.)

Well, I see some good stuff, and I see some stuff that needs work. Magus got some talent I see, leet for!
Here are the marks for my class: (A note - I am a very hard marker, so don't get upset if you don't get a good mark - remember, I'm trying to help you improve.)
PokemasterUSA: Completion of color scheme successfully: A
Overall effect of sig: C
dongygong: Not Present
Nidoman: Completion of color scheme successfully: A
Overall effect of sig: C
King Hydro: (I'll just be marking your first one as you submitted more than one) Completion of color scheme successfully: C
Overall effect of sig: C
ChroniclerC: Completion of color scheme successfully: A
Overall effect of sig: B
For your next assignment, I'd like you to go over your work very carefully. Look for mistakes, things that you could improve. Next lesson I will show you how to pick out mistakes, how to train yourself to do better. So, until then, I'd like you to create a short list of what you could improve in your sigs. Thanks

Hmmm... The first thing that comes to mind is that the size feels a little off. It could stand to be shorter and wider. I've still got a few spots with white line issues, man that line is a pain to get rid of. Lastly, the overall sig, while good (in my opinion), is rather simple. Maybe I could give the text a slight shadow (maybe try a different font, something more digital), and add a gradiant to the background. Hmmm... Things to work on, I'll put up a second take in a bit.

Ok, nifty sig, take two.
I couldn't find a gradiant effect, so I tried something else. Came out well, although it would look better on a water themed sig. Could probbly be darker, too. Worked on the white lines and fiddled with the size. And I couldn't figure out a good way to do a text shadow, I need to browse through the program's help topics.
Ok, take three.
Ah, thats a much better color. Gave the text a simple shadow, too.
And, just to see, one with a transparent background.
Hmmm... Doesn't look quite as good without the blue background. An interesting effect, though.
Ok, I think I'm done fiddling with it for now.
