So, I've been working on a video game that will hopefully become a series. I randomly decided to do some computer art for on of the many races, the Foxtails.

What do y'all think? More info about them below.


Appearance: Like a human; but covered in fur. Several tails protrude from their posterior.
They have short, pointed ears on the top of their head. See image.

Stature: Rather on the small side, but not diminutive. Somewhat frail.

Demeanor: Very kind and hospitable. They dislike fighting, but are not afraid to defend themselves.

Skills: Foxtails are especially skilled in the art of clothing. They are well known
for having huge wardrobes that can take multiple wagons to transport. They are also
skilled in Healing magic.

Lifespan: Around 2,000 years.

Quirks: Foxtails are well known for growing a new tail every 100 years, starting life without one.

Sounds interesting. Do you have a main character? A villian? A plot? You need all that to start the basis of any story, even video games. The problem, the rising action, the climax( :shock: ), the falling action, and the conclusion.

True. But, since this is going to be a series, I want to build a world in which all of that will happen. It makes things immensely easier.

But, I do have some basic ideas in the works.

Nice. Does it take place on our own planet? Does it take place on a world like ours? Or is it on a completely diffrent planet? (Or maybe it's not even on a planet....? I don't know, just curios.)

Work on the species design a little more. That picture was a little crude. As for game storyline, I'd try more for something that's character-driven rather than plot based stuff. If you need an example, try looking at games like Final Fantasy. Not that you should copy their narrative style, but it might give you a better idea of how you can stem plotlines better from character attributes and actions rather than relying on events and such. Just my thoughts, but it's your game.

Yeah, I know, I don't draw very well. Hopefully I can find someone who does, or at least take some lessons. That is a good point on the design though; I'll get to work on a better template.

Kitty: I don't really know yet. I have a map of it in my head, and I have yet to find an (existing) location that remotely resembles it So it's probably it's own place.

Me either, really... If this were fiction writing, I'd probably be of a lot more help. Drawing, well, my criticisms are flip-flop... I can get a point across, but can't do half the stuff I tend to preach. Sorry if I came across as harsh in any way, though apparently you took it well.
