Latest work. 'tis Guy, of Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword, who competes with Joshua from FE: Sacred Stones in Sword-user-awesomness.

Drawings from art class. We had basically a free lesson today, so these are random sketchings, nothing big.

nice drawings mate ;)

i like your recent work, although base the background colour on the render main colour so it blends, i like them all recently but feel the scanlines would look better if they were below the render (image)

6/10 for the work, 2/10 for the taste.

It's awesome! I like how the colors flow, though the render I think is kinda too.. ghostly, if you know what mean. Since I'm a fellow GIMPer, mind sharing some of how you did the background? :D

Spaggles, I used the Leiyla brush set for the last two backgrounds, and applied liberal use of the different layer modes. Y'know, the bit on the Layers window that says "Mode"? :P

Sigger face you use gimp right~

Well I need help. D:

I got Winzip and crap and extracted and unzipped the files to my compy's main font file.

But when I opened gimp the fonts weren't there. -_-;

Oookay... unzip the files, copy the actual font files and then go to My Computer > Control Panel > Fonts and paste. If you already tried that, then I have no idea what's up with your machine, and I'd recommend roundhouse-kicking it to oblivion.

Post subject:

That's what I diiiid

My compy sucks D:

but i certainly do not have the strength to roundhouse-kick it

o n btw nice sigs :O!

Gaaaaah.

Erm... try putting it straight into the GIMP's font folder? Find gimp2.2 or whatever it's called, look in the Font folder and paste it there.

If that still doesn't work... then you're gefiched, fraulein.

And thankie for the compliment. :3

The most succesful attempt yet at using C4Ds.

Fweeee~

Nice sig is niiiice.

Those brushes look familiar...what did you use?

I've never seen anything quite like it. The depth, the complexity.. Gah. How the hell did you make it? :D

Post subject:

Awesome. Did you use a picture with a background and that dragon, then started brushing on it? Or just the dragon? Oh, and what are C4Ds?

Author:  goldenquagsire [ Thu May 31, 2007 2:41 pm ]
Post subject:

I took a transparent render of the dragon, and did all the smudging and stuff to it afterwards on copied layers.

A C4D is a pwetty abstract picture like this. You can get them free from loads of places, and they go well with sigs if you edit them a little. Most of the work is just erasing out the bits of the C4D where it covers the render, and then the Dodge layer mode does the rest for you. :)

Post subject:

Yeah, that's basically it. You can get software that lets you make your own C4D's pretty easily as well, might try that. What's good about the sig you made is the placement and choice of C4D's, because that's often really hard. I use them for nearly all of my sigs, but they won't look as good as yours :D

Yours are good... except that your sprite renders are sometimes toohard to see.

Man, that's good. The render is big, but it fits because the background is awesome where you can see it. Do you use video grain for every sig? :D

Btw, are you a member of GIMPTalk? Man, the people there are pros, never seen anything like it. It gives inspiration though. You should definately check it out.

One last question: Is Will someone from Fire Emblem or FF?

Author:  goldenquagsire [ Tue Jun 05, 2007 2:24 pm ]
Post subject:

1. Nope, this is the first sig in a while that I used the video grain on.

2. I think I might join there. They sound pretty awesome.

3. Fire Emblem. Which you should go and buy NOW. :)

2. They frigging rock! :D Great tuts, but not as much forum interaction... fun as here. They're more like professionals, I feel :D

3. I played the first (and best rated one at Mobygames) Fire Emblem game on my *coughemulatorcough*. I could see where you have some of your characters and renders from, zo that wuz pretty kewl. Also, the game was exactly like Advance Wars minus characters and setting. :D

EDIT: I just saw this one and I remembered that you made it once, and I've always been curious as to how you actualy made it.
