"Sweep the leg! Put him in a body bag!" haha! Check it out! A NEW Generation of the Karate Kid! I'm a huge fan of the original trilogy and the "Next Karate Kid" was aight. The second one I'd just watch to see the monks go zen bowling. haha! What are you thoughts about the new movie?

They're taking it to the origin of martial arts, with Jackie Chan taking the place of new karate master, and an African American getting punked by some Chinese kids. It's not even Karate anymore (IMO). haha! The trailer shows the kid being trained in kung fu, much like the OLD OLD OLD movies Jackie Chan use to be in (example: the FIRST "Drunken Master" movie). I see that the producers are trying to mix the American Culture with the Chinese Culture. At the end of the trailer, it shows a small pun about catching a fly with chop sticks. I thought that was hilarious. I think this movie is borderline good. On the plus side, ALL Jackie Chan movies have bloopers at the end. If the movie is a flop, we can always enjoy a comic relief at the ending credit bloopers. Fixed it for you. I haven't seen the trailer yet, but nothing with Jackie Chan in it could ever be bad.
Kung Fu is totally different from Karate, and the first movie's name was a misnomer anyway. Chan better be teaching this dude Drunken Fist or Mantis. _________________ I don't know what I'm talking about. I found it extremely stupid that they used will smiths son for the karate kid. I don't have anything against black people, but the original wasn't black, so why is the new one? He's also too young. Is it because he's more famous? **** Hollywood.

Somehow I get the feeling that they this movie may just turn out badly. It seems to be happening with a lot of the remake movies that Hollywood has gotten their greedy little hands on, such as Friday the 13th, and Halloween remakes. The only reason I would really want to go see it would be because of Jackie Chan. It'll be entertaining to see what kind of humor stunts they make him do. Although I did let out a chuckle at the new adaptation to the fly catching thing in the trailer.

I don't know my asperation is to become a movie director so movies are things I feel strongly about, I think it looks like it has potential but i'm prepared for a let-down

It was Ohara his trainer...eventually it's also more interesting when jacky chan came to be the trainer...more stunts and funny tricks!   |
