My family loves doctor who

Just to make sure: please do not post any spoilers from the third series as it's still being aired here in America (Human Nature was aired last Friday, so go ahead and talk about that if you want).

I find the craze very strange. No one I know likes or watches 'Dr. Who'.
I personally dislike it a lot, mainly because of the horrible special effects. I'd expect them to be a lot better considering the technology and money available to these kind of shows nowadays.

I remember watching 'Xena Warrior Princess' in the 90's and I think the special effects in the first series of that, (when they were at their worst), are better than any I've seen in clips or adverts for 'Dr. Who', and then they had technology that was much less developed.
