American footballers are wimps who wear TONS of padding. Rugby players dont need anywhere near that amount.

You call football players wimps? the only reason most of them were pads is to make their playing years longer for more of a chance of having more seasons but I like both rugby and football. And yeah it does take a real man to play rugby but still most men won't even play football

I second this motion. Rugby is a much more violent game then American football. And Americans just want to protect their players more so that they don't get as hurt as much as rugby players do. What I would like to see is a statistic, contrasting the amount of injuries in Rugby, compared to American football.

You've also got the pads hitting you in American Football instead of just the skin and fat/muscle in Rugby.

I just saw a rugby match yesterday (USA vs. Ireland)

IT BORED ME HALF TO SLEEP. Seriously, that was much worse than American football. Sure there were a couple hard hits and some bloody noses, but it wasn't what I expected, and what I got was a snoozefest.

Let's put all the people who are for Rugby over football and put them on the field with the Chicago Bears. They'll be praying for the pads when Brain Urlacher comes running at them.

The Bears are overrated. They didn't even deserve to go the Super Bowl. Put them on the field with the Chargers, have Sean Merriman running at them. That's what i'm talkin' 'bout.

On Topic - Football is waaay better than Rugby. There is no contest whatsoever. None. Zilch. Nada.

Rugby (union) = Hard Bastards

Rugby (league) = Not-Quite-So-Hard

American Football = Padded Wimps

1. Rugby is a mix between soccer and football (-1)
2. Football has padding (+1)
3. Where I was born, Rugby is more popular (+1)
4. You don't tackle as hard as football (-1)
5. Football isnt for whimps (-1)
6. Football isnt better (+1), and Rugby isnt better (-1) It depends what you like.
