Hellooo. I`m playing through Final Fantasy X for the buzillianth time, but I`ve come across an annoying problem. Before ikku came along (I`m in Moonflow), I had a vey organised training method so that eveyone was trained up equally. I paired them off (the 6 characters bar Rikku - Yuna and Lulu, Wakka and Tidus, and Auron and Kimahri). I had one of each pair in my fighting three and when one of them gained a Sphere Level, I switched them with their partner and continued this for a while.

But now that Rikku has arrived, I have an uneven number of party members and my training schedule is ruined. Do any other FFX players have a (systematic) training method that would be ongoing( as in all the way through the game, not just 00ber training before Sin ) using all my 7 party membes equally? I really want to get on with my game and training equally, so quick help would be very helpful, and much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Training all seven characters is a waste of time. Either train Kimahri, Lulu, and Auron, or Rikku, Yuna, and Tidus. (Wakka is a lost cause imo.)

I can't remember exactly HOW I got along in FFX, because that was nearly two years ago, but I do remember training in the Omega Ruins for hours. I used Rikku (lol Spare Change), Tidus, and Yuna. I used the other four when they were ABSOLUTELY needed, but that was pretty rare. I don't remember Braska's Final Aeon requiring much skill from Lulu, Auron, Wakka, or whats his face, and if they did - I just went through that part of the grid with Rikku who now does 44,000.

Hoo-kay, so I should use either Kimahri, Lulu and Auron or Rikku, Yuna and Tidus. Um, I will definately have Rikku and almost definately Yuna, but I`ll probably switch Tidus with Kimahri. I like him and have put most effort into him.

Should I train the rest now and then and then train them fully at Omega at the end? I dont like leaving folk behind. :) So Yuna, Rikku, Kimahri it is then :) And I`ll teach Yuna Black Magic -- that would be sensible since generally, she has higher Magic than Lulu and is strangely more suited for damage magic. I do love Lulu though, but I`ll train her later on....

Uh, any other tips for training people? (in-game, mind you)

Well you actually have a good point, training all of your characters are very good. The people who you need to train are Auron,Tidus,Lulu,Yuna.Since those guys are really the heavy hitters and the ones who will actually win you battles they are the main ones to keep up there. The others you should still level up since the good thing about FFX is that every character is useful.

Wakka is a lost cause? Attack Reels my friends, Attack Reels... Second best Overdirve in the game with the Legendary Weapon (the first being Zanmato :P )

I put Lulu aside soon, seeing as Yuna had a much higher Magic stat to start with. When she entered Lulu's sphere Grid, Lulu became useless. So that's minus one. Kimahri is also a waste of time in later stages of the game. The best attack he learns (overdrive obviously) is Supernova, and that is nowhere near the best moves around.

That leaves Yuna, Tidus, Auron and Wakka. I chose to level up Yuna, Tidus and Auron. Yuna is the healer, the magic attacker (seldom in later stages; offensive magic becomes obsolete) and the summoner (Anima or Bahamut if you don't feel like going through all the trouble to get Seymour's mother's aeon; the Magus Sisters are a joke); Tidus is a must with Quick Hit and Blitz Ace. Auron's Overdrives are meh but teach him Quick Hit, pair him with Tidus and you have a pretty decent attack power. However, you can drop Auron for Wakka if you have patience to play Blitzball and get Attack Reels; that is all Wakka is good for anyway, but man, is he good at that. Rikku is a funny character to use, but... unreliable. Mix is a 2 for 1 deal which is never good, especially since you don't get to keep the created item. Other than that, Steal or Mug aren't gonna win you battles, that's for sure.

I agree with those who said that leveling everyone up is a waste of time (that only goes for Pokemon): Yuna bests Lulu, Tidus bests Rikku, Wakka and Auron best Kimahri. Although this analysis applies for later stages of the game, in which the whole Sphere Grid d available. In Moonflow / Guadosalam, if I recall correctly, I was using Yuna, Lulu and Auron.

I haven't played in a while, but usually leveling up mid-game in FF is never a big deal: level up where you are. When you have the whole map at your disposal though, I recommend the Malboros in the Calm Plains (hum.. is that the name?), although they're not very common, or the entire Omega Ruins. Great Malboros can kick you @ss to hell and back even when you're uberly powerful, isn't that nice?

Hum... did I? Oh, Rikku you mean? Yeah, I forgot her in that quote of yours but talked about her later. She's my 4th character. Not bad, not awesome... just fun to use IMO.

Sorry Krisp.
