Okay ffta(final fantasy tactics advanced) is the best game ever. This is a thread that can be used to talk about it. My feelingare it's best part is it replayibility you could play through ten time and still no have gotten anything It also has a good story along with great gameplay It's abillity learning system is unique as well as cool and there are so many items to collect my only complate is the laws are very anoying what are your feelings?

ps. whats your favorite job mine is a tie between blue mages and juggelers

Well, I have played FFTA and beaten it already. It's a very good RPG for the GBA, I have to admit. The job system is quite interesting. Allowing your members to switch jobs and keep all abilities they can learn makes for an interesting twist. Even though I have beaten it, I have not completed all of the missions, which I'm still striving to do... or gotten all the special characters on my team. To get the last one, I need to complete all the missions anyway... I'm kind of having problems though because the same missions keep popping up, and none of the new ones appear.... My characters are all crazy strong and can't be beat! ^_^

As for my favorite job... I like ninjas and assassins. My assassin is really kick-butt! With all those special abilities....

In my honest opinion, the game is not that great. 1.) The storyline lacks MUCH interest. 2.) THE JOB SYSTEM IS OLD. They used it in FF3j and FF5. Isn't anyone else getting sick of spending countless hours training? :/ 3.) The characters (not including the major ones) are randomized, and sometimes they have the STUPIDEST names. (for example, Nana and Hastings.) 4.) The game is very very VERY long, and the ending boss is impossible :/

I'd give this "Final Fantasy" a 4/10, but since it saved me from being bored to death at my (ex) friend's house, I'll give it 6/10. It has some good points, and I did enjoy playing it.

I've been playing this game a ton lately (I beat it once a long time ago; I got all 300 missions and the secret character.).

It's pretty good. I don't like it as much as Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI, but it's ok.

I think it's underrated and I think the original is overrated. (The original's still probably better though)

My main problems with it?

- Races. It just makes it too awkward and unbalanced. It sounds like a good idea on paper, but it's not implemented well in my opinion.

- The difficulty. There are some skills and abilities that are WAY too cheap. Seriously, will the computer EVER figure out how to kill you if you have Dragonheart? No.

- The Artwork. For the most part, the artwork is awesome. There are some things that bother me, though. The human classes all look like they could be a boy OR a girl. Some of the faces don't match the sprites. (Especially Babus, whose face graphic just looks plain weird.)

- The Story. It has way too many loopholes and some people consider it immature. (Especially compared to FFT, which goes to the other extreme and tries to be "mature" to the point that it's hilariously over-the-top.)

- The Laws. They're a good idea, but are implemented terribly. You always get caught on stupid technicalities. Then you get "Power Down" which PERMANENTLY decreases your characters' stats. (And contrary to popular belief, you DON'T get the stats back when you get out of jail). The laws range from reasonable (No Time Magic, no Steal) to completely unfair and stupid (No "Copycat", No Damage to animals, etc.) Basically, you either avoid using characters who are even capable of the things that are forbidden, or walk around on the map until the laws are stacked in your favor.

But here are the things I like:

- The Job System. It's kind of weird that you have to learn attacks from items, especially when you don't have enough of a particular kind of item. (Ex. You already know the Black Magic that Rod, Firewheel Rod, Sleet Rod, and Thunder Rod teach you, but you don't have any other rods that teach you anything. So while all your other guys are still learning stuff, you fall behind) Other than that, though, it's pretty good. There's no more of that Brave/Faith stuff or learning how to use items, either. Having two skill slots is a reasonable idea, and pretty much any multiclass is viable.

- The map. I like the idea of defining where certain places go, and through placing them in certain ways you can get rare items.

Lolz, those laws are a pain... some of those laws prevent you from even WINNING. Like the No Damage to Animals law. If you're fighting animals, there is no possible way in the world to win. :\

That makes my eyes bleed, seriously. I'd rather stand outside in the middle of winter without a hat and an ear infection in both ears than to listen to that word. I hate stupidest(er). It doesn't sound like a real word, yet somehow it is.

ya, I luv FFTA! I like the Red Mages and the Animists best, even though they aren`t extremely powerful.
I`ve not completed it - been completin FFIX recently. Is the last boss really that hard? I`m almost done.

The final boss isn't to hard if she doesn't use starcross which kill like you entire pary in one hit but she barely ever uses it my advice is use lots and lots of combos the do so much damage with 3 or 4 people

The ending boss is impossible. I don't know how anyone can beat her without cheating. She can use those summon thingys on you, and kill all your characters in one hit, and whats worse is, you can't leave the place to train; you're stuck there.

It was tricky, but I found a fun way to beat her. My Nu Mou Morpher/Sage uses Damage>MP. If you're a fighter, that tech makes you almost invinvible. My main character (Hunter/Fighter) would use a Hunter tech to get lots of JP, and I would just attack things with totema every couple of turns. Also, there is still more to do after you beat the "final" boss. Have you ever wanted to beat the snot out of the judges? If you complete every numbered mission, a hidden series of missions appear, dealing with corrupt judges.

The final battle is more luck than skill- if she gets lucky with Descent, you're screwed. But then again, there's always that 2-in-5 chance she'll get something crappy like Ultima or Exdeath (forgot what they changed his name to).

Magi shouldn't do enough damage to kill you, so you should be all right.

The two Mateuses are only annoying for Star Cross- try equipping some Holy Absorb equipment.

Amber Gleam and Lawshift (or whatever it's called) are jokes. Her physical attack is also really weak. If you can nail her with a 3-4 person combo, you've got it in the bag.

And don't forget the Life3 effect you can get from Auto-Life, Angel Whisper, Dragonheart, (just hit your own Dragoon using Subdue or something) and the Angel Ring. If you have at least one character protected at all times, you're fine even if she kills your whole team with Descent.
