It's been a really long time since I've bought a new video game. I reserved the special edition of the next Zelda game for GCN, but they delayed it's release until spring! I was very frustrated to hear that, and I have been craving a great, new, very long game to play for either GCN or Xbox. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. I don't like first person shooters much or platforms (with the exception of the classics), and I never play sports games, though some are pretty good. Anything else, I'm pretty open to. Thanks!
PS If anyone has heard what they plan on releasing with the special edition Zelda, I'm all ears.
EDIT: Wow, this kind of reads like a personal ad.

I have it. : (
What's cool about Dynasty Warriors? I'd look the game up, but they'd hype up the description. Even though they technically can't express opinion in their descriptions, they word it to make the game sound good even if it isn't. I made the mistake of buying Mafia for Xbox under the impression it was good simply by reading the description of the game.

They moved back the release for LoZ: Twilight Princess?!?!? Grrrrr.
If you're into RPGs, I would suggest Tales of Symphonia (get the GC version). Its MASSIVE!!! There is so much stuff to colect, it literaly takes at least 3 playthroughs to get everything (you can carry over collection records). Oh, and there is a great game in there too.

I thought Fable was going to be good, but it wasn't as in-depth as I thought it was going to be. I beat it in three days (and I only played it about three hours each day), and I ended up taking it back before it was due.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I'll check out those games. : )

The new Fable is just a remake of the other one except for the PC.I have it the only new thing about it is you can fish and you can also have kids and get old and wacth them grow up.Otherwise it is just a PC remake.
I give it a 6/10 you should get either lost kingdoms 1 or 2 or you should get Phantasy Star Online if your looking for a long game.

Far Cry: Instincts. Fun single player, making your own maps and be able to play them online, plus, it's a great looking game.

You want LONG RPGs?
Play the Quest for Glory Games. All 5 of them.

When I get bored of my recent video games; I usually play my older games. Try playing SNES or Sega Genesis. I've been playing Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and Super Mario Brothers 3 lately. Also, if you haven't yet, you should try out the Final Fantasy series.

I would reccomend Timesplitters 2, but your wanted game excludes FPS. Try any Zelda you haven't got(Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Masterquest). I would actually go for Digimon Rumble Arena. It sounds kiddy, but get 3 friends over, 4 controllers, and you'll find out who your friends really are.

hmm, given your specifications, I'd say that Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door might be right up your alley. It's pretty long, and you really shouldn't be disappointed.
If you already have that, try Megaman X Command Mission. It's a Megaman X RPG. It sounds kinda weird, but it's very well executed, and is rather long.
Of course, if you want a super crazy long game, try Animal Crossing, or an MMORPG. There are several free MMOs out there if you're not exactly keen on monthly payments. Though, in my experience, the ones you pay for are a lot better.

If you're into Survival games, I cannot suggest Eternal Darkness for the GCN enough. I love it. I don't get scared by horror movies, but the game has always spooked me.
For something more laid back, Animal Crossing is a must. There's also various classic collections available, including Sonic, Mega Man, and Mega Man X. I'd highly recomend all of those too.
If you've got a half decent PC, you might enjoy a little game called Evil Genius. I just started playing it again, and I realized how much I missed it these past few months. Just make sure to d/l the patch right away, as it'll fix most of the little bugs in the game.

Okay I changed my mind since you are looking for long games you could get Star Ocean Till the End of Time. It really lives up to ir's title "Till the End Of time" that is one long game. O I would get one of the top best 50 games ever Tales of Symphonia.

If I were you I'd go for the new City Of Villains game, in my opinion best PC game ever! I think its a lot more challenging than city of heroes, but if thats not your thing I recommend Star Wars Battlefront or battlefront 2........ actually I recommend Battlefront 2.

If I'm correct he wanted a game that is long, and from the reviews that I heard City of Villans isn't going to be to long like city of hero.I think that is like one of those never ending games like the Sims I think that he should get Legend of Zelda Twighlight Princess when it comes out.
