Yeah that is a good thing to try.Also who ever said that the Darkness-Dragon deck has to many magic/traps I think that one of the reason is to edit the deck the way you want or just destroying the deck.If you do that then that answers my post on how the deck is useful.

But it would be awsome if you could bring back opponent's monsters.

Than his effect could say:

Turn one card in your hand into monster reborn. You can only use this effect once per turn. This card can not be special summoned from the graveyard.

Last time I checked, the creator wasn't an egyptian god, just a heck of a card.
3000 atk points? Monster reborn effect? It'd have BANNED written all over it...

Ya Latios, but Blackwind is right, we were acting pretty n00bish. I'm surprised that Sacred Phonenix wasn't banned. Almost every champion duelist had it in their deck.

Indeed, it'd have been more sensible to, for instance, limit its summoning to the tribute of "Hand of Nephthys".

The phoenix is a super-powerful version of V. Lord, not even the fact that it requires 2 tributes reduces its.. erm... 00berness.

I agree with you. If not banned, at least limited, if it's not already. But the good thing is finding ways to knock it out. Imagine the looks on their faces when you play a miserable shield and sword... :P

Personally, The Sacred Phoenix of Nepthys (or Phoenix God Nepthys for the japanese) isn't THAT broken. It is however, limited to one, so UDE recognise they made a mistake. ALso, the attack is below par for a 2 trib monster. Also doesn't the Hand of Nepthys require you to tribute two monsters WITH it to sp. summon Nepthys from hand or deck?

If you think that was broken, you'd want to kill UDE for making Magical Scientist. There's so many combos with that card it isn't funny.

Nicely put Eswin. And yes, that is Hand of Nephthys's effect. If the phoenix's summoning was restricted to such an effect, then it'd be perfectly legitimate, IMO, for it to have the effect it does, alongside its stats.

And it really is limited. That's good to hear. But doesn't necessarily imply that UDE made a mistake, I believe...
Being below average for a 2 tribute monster is an attempt at making up for its effect, but it can still laugh at Jinzo, Cyber Dragon, etc, in the proper deck.

At any rate, and I might have misjudged it in my previous post, Vampire Lord can be much worse to face if summoned at the right time. Albeit that little problem with cyber dragon, 1 tribute is fast enough to get him in play and begin the slaughter... 2000 atk is nothing out of this world, but its effects are, and so is his summoning cost.

As for Magical Scientist, I can thin of more counters than combos, so if you'd be so kind, anyone, to let me know of a good combo with it... I'm not being sarcastic here. The catch is, I haven't faced that many decks with Magical Scientist, and the ones I did couldn't use its effect at all... So please, give me an example of a good Magical Scientist combo, will you? Much obliged. :wink:

I think the only utter mistake the UDE boys made was make things like Yata Garasu (there I go again...), Dark Hole, Change of Heart and alikes. Heck, even Monster Reborn takes the fun out of the game sometimes.

Scientist combos
Catapult Turtle+ Scientist.
Scientist's effect Summons 3 Dark Flare knights fire them off with turtle for 1100 LP damage each
Then summon other 2200 6 star fusions and fire them off with turtle until you have 1000 lp left, then fire off scientist for the win, or if not end turn, normal summon something then fire them off, or wait a turn and fire a normal summoned monster off for ggnore.

Scientist on field, Sorceror of Dark Magic in hand
Summon scientist, pay 2000 LP for 2 sanwitches, sac to sp. summon SoDM and batter the opponent with the strongest spellcaster the English game has.

Scientist and book of moon in hand, Thousand Eyes Restrict in fusion deck
Summon scientist, pay 1000 for TER, play Book of moon to keep it face down, then flip in Main Phase 2 so you can keep it.

Edit: do not diss teh spirit birdie. It is one of my favourite cards and I play it in my traditional deck. Sucks that they made it a DB2 common.
Can we talk about good pulls from packs or pack scaling in this topic too?

The only GOOD combo with Gearfried is Elma+ Gearfried+ Royal MAgic Library to draw your entire deck as it creates an infinite loop, great for exodia decks.

yah I know my combo isn't very good but i just like it cause it's cool and fun to win with 5 monsters on the field anyways there's enogher good combo wit h gerfried and elma using magical marrionet for iffinite attack and moster removal not as good as royal magical libray but still good
