Please vote for your preferred band.

I'm only interested in which of the above you like the most - or dislike the least. I know there are other groups, but please vote according to what I've said. This interests me, that's all.

This is a very tough choice, but I have to vote Beatles. While I love both The Who and Rolling Stones, I've only gotten in to them recently, while I grew up on The Beatles. I also have a larger variety of Beatles music, as opposed to Who and the Stones.

I've heard only a very little of The Who, and while I've heard much of The Rolling Stones and The Beatles on the radio, I lean more toward the Stones, because frankly, the Beatles were an overrated pothead boy band. sorry, that's just how i feel... of course, 60s bands aren't my expertise, either...

I must defend The Who. They didn't live in a yellow submarine, nor did they want it painted black; they stood there behind their blue eyes, rocking out.

Don't get me wrong, all 3 are great, but I've just gotta go with The Who. Baba O'Reily is a great tune that I only wish I could play the intro to. Behind Blue Eyes has even been covered in modern times (and it wasn't all that bad, I'll admit). Then, there's just the fact that you hear the songs for intros on the CSI shows.

Of course, my local classic rock station only plays unedited versions of songs. I find it funny that on the rap/pop station, there's a lot of blank pauses or changed lyrics, but on the classic rock, you can still hear them scream "WHO THE F*#$ ARE YOU!??! (editied for forum purposes, obviously). Gotta love that...

Now how long did it take you to think of that? :P

This is a pretty hard decision for me. I never really liked the Beatles too much, but I'd have to say I like The Who a little more than The Rolling Stones, so, yeah...

Have to say Beatles here. Haven't heard much of the Stones, (first song I heard was Far away eyes, and I didn't really like it) but I do plan to listen to more of their catalog soon. The Who for me are a little too inconsistant; I believe they should have quit after Keith Moon died. The only albums I like (as a whole) from The Who are 'Tommy' and 'Who's Next?'. I hate Magic Bus, however....
(And for anyone that thinks The Who were hardcore rebels and that The Beatles were rich pansy kids in suits, take a look at the clip for 'The Kids Are Alright' ;). Don't get me wrong, I love the song, but I just hate these misconceptions.)

I have to agree with the point that The Beatles are overrated, but only in terms of how popular they were. People say The Beatles are the best band ever because of the hype of Beatlemania, and they totally miss how sophisticated their music got. What I'm trying to say here is that the actual band is overrated, but their music is definately not. Another problem is that due to a certain rich entertainer buying the majority of The Beatles catalog (Michael Jackson) a lot of their later songs aren't played on radio, so most people are left with hearing Yesterday, or Help! over and over again.

About 10 seconds, actually. By the time I got done typing "They didn't live in a yellow submarine" I had already come up with the "paint it black" referense. Though, I'll admit, I kinda cheated. There's the stereotypical psycho-kid at school, and people started singing yellow submarine to him. He hates it, and he's the kind of person who would "see a red door and want to paint it black" as well. So, we joke about that a lot...

Beatles for me, but here's some interesting facts I found out reading The Beatles Anthology recently . . .

-Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger were close buddies, as were Keith Richards and George Harrison. They often worked together on songs.

-The Beatle's 1968 rocker "Helter Skelter" came about as a direct result of Paul wanting to write something harder and, as he put it, "raunchier," than The Who. Listen to Helter Skelter if you don't think the Beatles were influential on rock music.

Anyhoo, favorite Beatles songs are Taxman, Oh Darling, Norwegian Wood, Day Tripper, I Saw Her Standing There, and Revolution.

Pink Floyd?

I will vote RS.

Well, Pink Floyd were mainly active in the '70s, Crosman. Also, these three bands are the three prominent members of the "British Invasion" of British rock bands into America in the '60s.
