OMGGG!!!(GGG=good golly god  )
I watched this movie last night called The Core, It came out in 2003. Anyone see that movie? Its so good. Lots of Drama, Sci-fi, and Peril.

The plot of the movie is that the earths core has stopped spinning, causing the electromagnetic field that shields the earth from the suns solar flare's (with out it, the earth would be a giant torch in the middle of space.) So in three months, America has to build a Ship strong enough to travel to the center of the earth and deliver a nuclear blast strong enough to get the iron core in the middle of the earth spinning again.

But Scince it is PG-13, not everybody is going to survive...

I could give you a very detailed list of all the things that make The Core one of the worst movies I've ever seen, but if you like it, I won't go trying to change your opinion. :)

Why do you guys hate it so much? IU mean it isperfect for people who like suspence and disaster...I liked the part when the golden gat bridge melted!

Also nido, I want to see that list.

One of the best movies I've ever seen. Stinks I didn't see it in theaters. The Core's plot has already been mentioned above, so I guess it's only proper to give my personal opinion.

As said, this ship that has to be strong enough to go to the core, travels, far enough to reach it's destiny. I will tell you this, they make it to the Core, but many things go wrong. Deaths, mechanical problems, and it is PG-13, so you have to watch to find out. Who makes it back alive? Does the bomb discharge? This movie, will rock your core. 8)

If you insist...

First and foremost, the technical details: The movie isn't impresisve on any level. The acting isn't amazing, the script is pretty lame, and things like this.

Going further, The Core is an EXTERMELY cliched movie. The world is in peril, so the US government (always the USA saving the world, eh?) has to put together a team to save the world from utter destruction. Of course, to keep the audience interested, the film-makers throw in a few shots of world landmarks being destroyed, a favourite of disaster movies (see Independence Day, Armageddon, Deep Impact, Godzilla, The Day After Tomorrow and others for movies who suffer from the same ridiculous audience-appleasing elements). Of course, another way to keep the audience interested is to have a bunch of special effects shots that use lots of CGI to make things look impressive.

All in all, The Core is just another blockbuster (although it flopped at the box office) disaster "small group of people from different backgrounds get together to save the world" movie. It's long, boring, unentertaining, forgettable, horribly predictable, full of cliches, tacky, ridiculous and completely preposterous. How these dumb Hollywood Summer cheese movies still manage to entertain people is beyond me.

I'm sorry if I'm a bit overly critical about it, this is just how I feel about The Core, and all the movies like it for that matter.

Somewhat agree. There are so many movies like this that they all become as predictable as detergent advertisements, so while I don't dislike The Core, it's nothing special to me.

Yeah, that's cause
1. Josh AN AMERICAN found out first
2.The fact that Serge (Weapons specialist who was killed doing something for the nuclear power of the nukes) was FRENCH
3. Quote from Josh at the outline of the Terronaught program "Well need all the help we can get" as they show not only american flags, but but british and isralian flags.

Also, "The rat" is cool, cause he's got his own cyber cafe, and HE stopped D.E.S.T.I.N.I from launching.
