maybe u need to brush up a bit on music theory. beethoven is classical not baroque. baroque composers include handel, bach, and telemann. it focuses on counterpoint between melody and harmony and lasted up to about 1750.

beethoven's compositions fall into the classical period (1750-1820) and emphasize the melody over harmony. usual texture is single melody line over a solid or broken chord accompaniment (in the case of "ode to joy" it would be mostly solid chords).

and there is absofrickinlutely nothing "wierd" about liking beethoven or any music from the classical period. i mean it's just pure genius in comparison with all this pop excretion modern music communities revel in.

Right now I have been listening to my Chronicles of Narnia sound track, which has proved to actually have some good songs so I don't fell ripped-off,I say this becuase the last four Harry Potter sound tracks have been basiclly the same thing just a little different, so after that I kind of gave up on movie sound tracks but now I'm a believer.
