Hey guys, the Nintendo 3DS came out today. I've seen many previews and videos on it before it came out. But I have some questions. If anyone can these, I would be delighted. So here are the questions:

*How does taking a picture on a Nintendo 3DS make it a 3D picture? Doesn't 2D pictures only exist?
*Is the Nintendo eShop going to have Pokemon Red, Blue, Gold, Silver and Crystal on it?
*Can the Nintendo 3DS Music Player also play .mp4 files like the DSi?
*How do you watch videos on the Nintendo 3DS and what file do they need to be?
*If you can watch videos on the Nintendo 3DS, can you also watch videos on the Browser in the Nintendo 3DS?
*Does the 3D depth controller thingy (I don't know what it is called) also affect the 3D and gameplay of regular DS games?
*How does the 3D depth controller thingy affect the game play or game images within the game?
*Isn't the PSP the first Held Hand Console to have 3D games?

*How does taking a picture on a Nintendo 3DS make it a 3D picture? Doesn't 2D pictures only exist? 3d Photos are possible, 3d is not restricted to movement
*Is the Nintendo eShop going to have Pokemon Red, Blue, Gold, Silver and Crystal on it? This has not been confirmed yet...
*Can the Nintendo 3DS Music Player also play .mp4 files like the DSi? Yes*How do you watch videos on the Nintendo 3DS and what file do they need to be? ???
*If you can watch videos on the Nintendo 3DS, can you also watch videos on the Browser in the Nintendo 3DS? Update not yet released...
*Does the 3D depth controller thingy (I don't know what it is called) also affect the 3D and gameplay of regular DS games? Sadly, no... It is also blurry...
*How does the 3D depth controller thingy affect the game play or game images within the game? It can go from a small amount of 3d to a large amount
*Isn't the PSP the first Held Hand Console to have 3D games? No?

1. I don't know how it works, but if you take a picture on the 3DS, then it'll be 3D. But if you turn off the 3D slider-thingy then the picture will be 2D.
2. Nintendo has said nothing about the R/B/Y/G/S/C coming to the eShop. Heck, the eShop hasn't even been released yet (Waiting for a system update in May)
3. Indeed it can.
4. You cannot watch videos on the 3DS as of yet. (That'll be in a feature system update)
5. We don't know if you can watch videos on the internet browser yet. We're waiting for the internet browser to be released in a system update in May.
6. DS are not in 3D.
7. It's really hard to explain. Well the 3D effect on the 3DS a depth effect (It still has some pop-out effects though), so if you turn down the 3D slider then the depth effect will be lessened.
8. I really don't know. :P

What I recommend is going to your local Best Buy to see if they have a 3DS demo station. (You can check if they do here)

Hoped that helped. :)

I don't know if i have misunderstood you but for the last one, it doesn't mean 3D gameplay, it means actual 3D (More advanced version of the Red-Cyan 3D glasses kind of 3D).

And as for how it works:
Forget my reference to the red-Cyan 3D glasses above because in reality it works nothing like them. The 3DS uses a bit of Physics called 'Stereoscopy',

Wikipedia wrote:
'Stereoscopy (also called stereoscopic or 3-D imaging) refers to a technique for creating or enhancing the illusion of depth in an image by presenting two offset images separately to the left and right eye of the viewer. Both of these 2-D offset images are then combined in the brain to give the perception of 3-D depth. Three strategies have been used to accomplish this: have the viewer wear eyeglasses to combine separate images from two offset sources, have the viewer wear eyeglasses to filter offset images from a single source separated to each eye, or have the lightsource split the images directionally into the viewer's eyes (no glasses required).'

The 3DS uses the latter approach, the screen is split into 2 different sources of light that goes to your eye, say, it varies across the whole screen but part of the light goes to one eye and the rest goes to your other eye, this gives the effect of depth in the screen

The 3D on the 3DS is not like the 3D at the Cinema that 'jumps out' at you, in fact, the 3DS gives the illusion there is depth in the screen and that's where the 3D characters etc.. are. Still, i am looking forward until i eventually get one of my own. I've read a lot about them and i'm itching to have a go.

I got one a while ago, and they are pretty awesome. When you're setting up your profile, it will give you a 3D demonstration. It is awesome! The games are pretty cool too. I got Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, and it's really fun but kind of hard for me. Maybe it was desinged to be really hard, or maybe that's just me, because it's been a long time since I played a Zelda game. Anyway, anyone out there who doesn't have one needs to get one. They're only $170 now, as opposed to $250, which is what they used to be and what I paid for mine...

92% of teens would be dead if Abercrombie & Fitch said it wasn't cool to breathe. Put this in your sig if you are the 8% who would be laughing.
