After our tour yesterday and before we arrived in Rome today, we weren't really following any sort of schedule. In a small grocery store, my cousin and I found a bargain bin of CDs. They had a Metallica CD we'd never heard of before, (it was pretty cheap so I bought it) called "Bay Area Trashers: Metallica." I'm a pretty big fan of them, but not as much as my cousin. We never got a chance to listen to the CD, (they had a CD Player at the hotel; we should have.) but from looking at the tracks my cousin told me it was pretty much just a 3-minute introduction message, about half of the "Kill 'em All" album, one song he had never heard of (and he has all their albums), and a 5-minute interview. It's probably pirated and definitely unofficial, but it might be funny just to see what it is.

The cover is just a group picture of the band, with some weird Medusa-looking head in the background. In this really cheap font, it says, "Bay Area Trashers: Metallica." The back cover just lists the tracks, and has the same exact picture of the band.

The song I've never heard of is called something like "Mechanix." Does anyone know what this is? It seemed kind of suspiscious to me; the other tracks all credited whoever wrote/composed each song. That one didn't...

I'll try to scan a picture of it when I get home.

Well, I noticed no one answered your question yet, so I did a quick Google search on the cd you have.

Apparently, this is a very poor quality CD. It is basically a copy of a demo they recorded called "No Life Till Leather" with fake crowd noises added.

The Mechanix is the first version of The Four Horsemen before it was lengthened and the lyrics were changed.

Here's the site I found this info off of, take a look: http://www.mac-archive.com/metallica/bayarea.html
