Teleportation, simple, less time used for the transport, less chance to get an accident.

Star Trek is mainly a TV show, but if you're refering to psychic transportation, that is mainly safe.

I added Subspace Travel to the list. Anybody who's read the Scott Pilgrim novels knows about Subspace.
