Usually, I get recommendations from my friends, its more "oh hey (band) are touring at the moment wanna check them out" "oh sure just gotta check their stuff." Music festivals are fun to go to cos I get exposed to a whole lot of random songs. If I drive to a mates place to chill out or something I'll probably have my hard drive on me and i get all their porn (wait... i mean music... typo)

Otherwise if I'm really desperate for new music I'll browse lastfm and look up youtube.

Currently I have 62gbs of music which encompasses 1274 artists, but I haven't listened to everything yet. (another way of me listening to new music is just by putting my ipod on shuffle...)

Well if I absolutely love the artist (Kid Cudi) Then I would search and see if they have a new sonq out.. . but Like for new rock sonqsz I would search for AMV's and Montaqes they usually have qreat music behind them so I find new sonqsz from those... .

I usually use Lala.com, as it allows you to hear the full version of the song as well as get suggestions based on the artists you normally listen to. I found a lot of artists through there, both old and new.

I listen to Pandora Radio, and for those of you who don't know what it is, Pandora is free, legal, internet streaming radio that plays music based on what you like. How it works is you type in the name of a song you like or an artist, and it will match music based on the different musical aspects of your choice. The rating feature (thumbs up or thumbs down) is excellent in the sense that if you select thumbs up for a song, the station will play more songs like it. If you thumbs down it, the station won't play songs like it, and it won't play that song on that station anymore. It sounds complicated, I guess, but using the FAQ and just playing around with it makes it especially easy. Pandora is only available for those who live in the USA, though, and sometimes it repeats some music. I find it works great, though for trance and electronic, I just zone out while listening to that stuff and it's amazing.

I either stay up until 3:00am to watch a half-hour show on MuchMusic, or I get it from friends. Everyday I have another friend tell me about a new band or something.
