Speak (Laurie Halse Andersen), Maus (Art Spiegelman), Diary of a Young Girl (Anne Frank), The Devil's Arithmetic (Can't remember author).

Speak: A 14-year-old busted an end of summer party by calling the cops. Her friends hate her. Brilliant book about being an outcast (like me and my friends ^_^)

Maus: Art Spiegelman's father, Vladek Spiegelman, was in the dreaded Nazi concentration camp, Auschwitz, along with his wife Anja, and miraculously both of them survived. Detailed accounts of what the camps were really like (Graphic Novel)

Diary of a Young Girl (Anne Frank): You've probably read this one. This book is the second most read book in the world. It is Anne Frank's diary. She was a Jew in hiding from the Nazis, and all the while she kept a diary.

Devil's Arithmetic, The: Hannah, a Jewish girl, is teleported back in time to play the role of Chaya, a girl who died in Auschwitz. Strangely, Chaya is Hannah's great aunt.

Well I have a new favourite of late, one I just recently bought. If you're wondering what relevance Sam's post has, it's because my new book is Mister Monday, from the Keys to the Kingdom series.

Awesome book, absolutely awesome. Asthmatic boy gets given a piece of a clock and has to go into an almost fourth-dimensional house to figure out what the plague is that's sweeping through the real world.

Definetely a new favourite ^_^

Well, it would be hard to pin my finger on just one book that rises above them all.

My favourite funny book is 'Boys are Stupid, Throw Rocks at Them', which is just hilarious. Read it.

I think my favourite serious book is probably 'The Time Machine' by H.G. Wells. It's inovative & interesting, giving us a good image of how things may develop in the future if we aren't careful.

My favourite play is 'Hamlet', which is a masterpiece. If I was stranded on a desert Island with only one book this would be it. Shakespeare was a genius.

My favourite non-fiction is definatly 'Eats, Shoots & Leaves' by Llynn Truss, which is all about the corruption of the English Language.

My favorite book is probably Monster by Frank Peretti.
I slept with a night light on for the next month after that.

The Nightmare Academy and Hangman's Curse were pretty good, too.
(: Frank Peretti is my obsession, kind of. Not really.

My favouritest book ever is "The Third Day, the Frost" by John Marsden. Actually, I like a lot of books by this guy.

Worst book ever has to be Catcher in the Rye.

In order (though the order changes a lot), my current favorite books are...
+ Abarat, Clive Barker
+ The Dragonbone Chair, Tad Williams
+ The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, JRR Tolkien
+ The Princess Bride, William Goldman
+ Harry Potter, JK Rowling

All of them are gorgeous - check 'em out if you haven't yet.

Least favorite? Cold Sassy Tree, by Hoothe F. Cares.

In no particular order:

1. Paul Stewart and Chris Riddel's Edge Chronicles
2. Malorie Blackman's Noughts and Crosses trilogy
3. Antony Horowitz's Alex Rider series
4. Eoin Colfer's Artemis Fowl series
5. Philip Reeves' Mortal Engines (just finished it today! :) The ending is WARNING! THE STORYLINE COULD BE REVEALED IN THE NEXT SENTANCE! PLEASE READ ONLY IF YOU ALREADY KNOW THE ENDING TO MORTAL ENGINES!!! like some weird version of Hamlet!)

And a couple of others get tacked onto that list depending on what mood I'm in. My least favourite book has to be the utter rubbish that they read to you in Year Six of Primary school. I still remember those days... awful, kiddy books at a time when I was reading the Edge Chronicles.

The Tale of Genji, by Murasaki Shikibu. The author may have been alive over a thousand years ago, but she's still my favorite. Her poetry actually inspired me to start writing a few years ago, a hobby of mine that is still going strong.

OMG! Timothy Zahn rocks! His Admiral Thrawn trilogy was da bomb! That was such good storytelling, and the graphic novel adaptions are some of my most-borrowed books from my library!
