Post subject:  Guitar Hero III: Wii or Xbox 360?

I've finally raised enough money for GH III! :D But...I don't know which to buy it for Wii or Xbox 360. Any thoughts/opions would be helpful.

My opinion on this pretty much relies on - Do you have Xbox Live? Because if you do I would go for Xbox 360 because they have downloadable songs and characters and your getting more for your money if you have XBL. But if you don't and you have Wii WiFi and some friends on here you want to rock with, I'd go Wii.

Well no, I actually don't have Live on 360. I do have Wi-fi for Wii though. I was sort of looking for a comparison between each one. I also have a few questions. Is it possible to get a faceplate to cover the Wiimote on the Guitar for Wii version? Is Live better then Wi-fi? If yes, how much better? Are there any major gameplay or character differences between the games? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to make an educated decision (sp?)

OFF-TOPIC: Is my Wii dead? The power switch's light has turned a yellowish color and the area where you put the disc in is glowing blue. This has been going on for about three days. It still works the same. has this hapened to anyone else?

The Yellow means that your wii is on stand by
The blue means you have wii-mail (probably the check mii out letter)

I think the only differences are:

Graphics: XBox 360 has slightly better graphics.

Characters: XBox 360 (and PS3) get the Grim Ripper and the God of Rock; Wii and PS2 get Metalhead and Elroy Budvis.

Minor tweaks: Bret Michaels sings certain songs in the PS3 and XBox 360 versions of the game; he is absent from the Wii and PS2 versions. Also, the Wii Remote goes into the guitar in the Wii version, the XBox version is a wireless guitar that runs on batteries, if I recall.

DLC (Downloadable Content): Confirmed for XBox 360, buy song packs from the XBox Live Marketplace. The Wii version has none as of yet, and I've heard it may or may not have it.

If I had enough money to afford an XBox 360, I would have gotten it for that platform. But I don't, so I have it for Wii.

I'd say go for the Wii. I don't have an X-Box 360, but even if I did, Wii would be my choice. It has Wi-fi to do a Guitar Battle with a distant foe, even if you don't know them, so it rules above all. Nintendo rules over X-Box anyday in any situation, so I'd have bought the Wii version without a second thought.

P.S. Let's all remember this as a special post: thatnewguy's first post!!!

I am not sure about the faceplate but that would be awesome if there were. Gardevior~ pretty much sums up the comparison. Now, Is Live better then Wi-Fi? Hmm, once again this depends on preference, but if you would rather just mellow it out and play with some of your friends, go Wi-Fi because you need friend codes so no strangers(as far as I know). If you want to play against a whole ton of people and play against the best of the best and the worst of the worst, since there are so many people on Live improbable that you would play the same person twice, unless you set it up like that. The last thign I am putting into here is - Wi-Fi (as long as you don't need the adapter, if you have a router good :) ) = $0 XBox 360 Live = $69.99 for 12 months (thats Canadian, I think it's $10 cheaper in USA, not sure about other countries). So if you have "bigger pockets" and you want a whole ton of people (with the risk of playign against some 14 year old kid who thinks it's cool to swear into the headset until your ear bleeds) then go Xbox 360. But if you don't wanna take that risk, go Wii. Wii Wii Wii :)

P.S. Congrats on the first post "thatnewguy"
P.S. x2 lol I just previewed this post, dang it's big!!!

Well thanks for all the info guys. I think I'm gonna go with the Wii (even though it sound like the 360 is better in the long run) mostly because I don't really want to spend another $50 - $60 for Live, and I think I like Wi-fi better then Live from what info you've gave me.
