Hard choice.

Lord of the rings trilogy is a masterpiece,

but it wasn't my kind of movie to watch,

so i choose the matrix,

i like action movies.

LOTR is a masterpiece of film. Each of the three movies are totally perfect, and the trilogy as a whole even more so. Unfortunately, I can only say this about the first and original Matrix. While the first Matrix is also a masterpiece, I must admit that both the sequels absolutely SUCK, especially the 3rd one. At least the 2nd one had lots of action in the Matrix, which is all we really wanted to see, but the 3rd one has that ridiculous robot war, which is something we've seen before in many science-fiction movies. A disappointing ending to a disappointing trilogy. The Matrix should have been left as one movie.

And you sir, can go suck an elf :P J/K

Seriously, if you think The Matrix trilogy sucks like a vacuum cleaner, you're only looking skin deep. You have to look further then just appearences.

I'm suprised that the matrix even got one vote. In my opinion, this is quite a pointless poll seeing as, we already know the answer. And everyone but the most die hard matrix fans can see that lotr was perfect. The only thing that bugged me about lotr was the periode dialouge. But of course, the movie wouldn't work without it. The acting was kind of mediocre-to-ok, but the set, costumes, make-up, and cinematography (sp?) was absolutely gorgeous. The matrix got old after the first one because all of the slow-mo thing has been over done since then, whereas when the matrix was first made, that kind of animation was original.

So you admit that the LotR trilogy was not perfect as you say? Nothing is perfect, so why not love both for what they are?

Anyway, I love the matrix, and I have a mild loathing towards the LotR movies, love the books though, as the books are just epic. Everytime i watch the LotR, I just skip to the battle scenes, as those were the only scenes not butchered :P

Anyone ever been to IMAX? 8-storey screen, baby! Watch LOTR on that. *updates his imaginary wish list* And yes, The Matrix is good, bt nothing compared to LOTR. :D

Ever seen the matrix in IMAX? i hear its a great experience. and the only reason everyoen loves LotR ( atleast the stupid airheads :P ), is cause of legolas....

I like LotR for many reasons, one of which is not Legolas. Such as the epic battles, Shadowfax, those dragons on the last one, and Gimli. Funny tiny bloke. :P

There were no dragons in the LotR trilogy, the things the Ring Wraiths rode on are called nazgul (atleast i hope thats what your refering to when you call them dragons. :P ) The only mention of dragons, and appearence of such, is in the Silmirillian and the Hobbit. :P

And I didn't mention you personally as one of the ones who loved LotR for Legolas.... I just mentioned the airheads :P

This was such a hard choice when thinking about it technically.

For a storyline and and technicality. : LOTR pwns easily.

For suspense and a feeling of being there 100% : Matrix pwns. :)

Its really hard to choose a winner, I guess LOTR might win it just by a hair.

uggghhh......i hate the matrix in my opinion its retarted lord of the rings all the way

I can't really honor The Matrix as a true trilogy since it's quite obvious that the movies were written as stand alone, no matter how much the writters will argue the other two were written in tandem. Both of the Matrix's sequals are made of fail.

With that aside,The LOTR trilogy still gets my vote. The movies are great entertainment, though I'm not as ravingly excited about them as others. They deserved the awards they received in special effects, make-up, and the like, but each film is not the best picture of their respective years. It is by far greater than The Marix series though.

Ok I totally go with DatVu on the awards for LOTR. I did not like LOTR though, becuase it was just too long for me to keep up with everything. The series though as a whole is great!

Matrix... I loved the first one. Great movie. The others... Idk The 2nd one was just a bunch of talking. There would be 30 mins of diolauge, and then a 2 second fight scean. The 3rd movie, same.

Though I am a fan of both triolgies, I will give my vote to the Matrix trilogy, becuase I like futuristic type things better.

the matrix games are subpar at best, though multiplayer in Enter the Matrix rocks, you'd really have to be a diehard fan to find no fualts in the matrix games, and i am in no way that blinded by my passions :P
