That is right. Linkin Park is currently the top rock band in the US thanks to their new album, Minutes to Midnight, which features new songs such as Given Up, Bleed it out, No More Sorrow (which in my opinion, is their best song ever, but thats just me), and their newist song that is now their biggest hit, What I've Done.

The Following links contain NEW Linkin Park songs.

Please note the links may or may not contain the language of the normal song, they may be censored or not, so please, no flameing if you hear the Eff word, that is common in about 7 out of 12 of their new sogns
Given Up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDbFM7hXCSA
Bleed It Out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnuuYcqhzCE
No More Sorrow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDeZ8AR7anQ
What I've Done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sgycukafqQ

And, if you were like me, aand went to Projekt Revolution '07, yopu would have noticed they had a new song, that song is titled Q.W.E.R.T.Y., they have yet to release what these letters stand for, but, luckily for all us Linkin Park fans, it's a sign of a new C.D.. Linkin Park was surprised at their concerts at how many people stayed by their sounds sence their first C.D., Hybrid Theory, which was released in 2000, another album, Meteora, released in 2003, added more fans, and also, if you watched the No More Sorrow link, you heard one of Meteoras 13 songs, Numb. They have had a few mini-albums, such as when they hooked up with Jay-z, whom remixed and remade soeme of their songs, so they could get some more popularity (and Jay-z could get some extra cash in his wallet) and also the C.D. called Re-animated, where they remade some of their songs.

Here is a link of where you can see a sample of some bands on the tour

Here's the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrlKgMLRL2I

I hope you enjoyed reading this, and I hope you watched the links, and hoped you'll get addicted to the Linkin Park Mayhem like me and millions of others did.

Chester Bennington - Lead Singer
Mike Shinoda - Back Up Singer / Rapper
David "Pheonix" Farrel - Bass Guitarist
Brad Delson - Lead Guitarist
Joe Hahn - Disc Jockey (D.J.)
Rob Bourdon - Drummer

Last I checked, the American youth had horrible taste in music. See: Fall Out Boy.

Linkin Park is ok, but I would rather listen to something else.

Best-selling =/= good.

Meh, I have one Linkin Park song from a CD that my friend burnt for me. I don't think they're that awesome, but they're certainly passable.

Lol. Dear me, it's getting ridiculous now - the amount of songs people are putting in the wrong 'category' or 'stereotype'.
Linkin Park are not Emo. They're not close to being my favourite band but I think they're O.K. To be honest, I prefer the stuff from their old days.

I've opened up these scars
I'll make you face this
I pull myself apart
I'll make you, face, this, now!!!!

I bleed it out digging deeper
Just to throw it away
I bleed it out digging deeper
Just to throw it away
I bleed it out digging deeper
Just to throw it away
I bleed it out

Read the lyrics again, kiddo.

Ok. Lol. Don't call me 'kiddo', unless you're middle aged then I guess I am a 'kid' to you. It's just rock lyrics, kiddo.
What about lyrics like...
"I guess I like it when we fight
(The way you drag me down)
I guess I like it when you smile at me
(The way you drag me down)
'Cause I can’t face myself in a mirror
(I’m left alone with all my pain)
and I disgrace myself in the mirror
(im left alone with my shame)

F*ck it! I see you in me
F*ck it! I feel you in me
F*ck it! I’ll heal you in me
F*ck it! I see you in me
F*ck it! I feel you in me
F*ck it! I’ll heal you in me

You’re out of luck - can’t get a piece of me
It’s all blown up. Don’t ever f*ck with me.
I cannot please you all forever
I cannot please you at all
(I can feel you coming up behind me)
"
- Seether.

Now don't even be crazy enough to think Seether are Emo. A lot of rock music is about death/dying and bleeding, whatever. It doesn't make it Emo. And then there's the band's image as well.

I don't know if you know her and I don't like this kind of music but if you hear Leona Lewis's new song, (she won the programme 'X Factor' last year), I think you'll find some of the lyrics are like this:
"Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
I keep bleeding
I keep, keep bleeding love
Keep bleeding
Keep, keep bleeding love
You cut me open

Trying hard not to hear
But they talk so loud
Their piercing sounds fill my ears
Try to fill me with doubt
Yet I know that the goal
Is to keep me from falling

But nothing’s greater
Than the rush that comes with your embrace
And in this world of loneliness
I see your face
Yet everyone around me
Thinks that I’m going crazy, maybe, maybe.
"

She's singing about bleeding; being cut open, (I know it's metaphorical but so are rock lyrics, unless they're actually crazy Emo) and going crazy, etc.
And if you don't know her, look her up. Then tell anyone she's Emo, especially just on the basis of the lyrics, (which is what you appear to be going off), and see what kind of reaction you get.
It's just what a lot of people like these days, that's all, whatever your taste in music is.

Here in the UK it's 3rd on the top downloaded list for the month on Kerrang and Scuzz (: Foo Fighters (clearly better) is 1st and 2nd ^_^

Fall Out Boy are awesome, as a side note.

What did you say's 2nd?

Ok, that type of line makes you think they're Emo, it obviously doesn't matter about the rest - the way they sound or their image, etc, (sarcasm intended).
I told some people what you said today and received a lot of protest, and one of those people doesn't even like Linkin Park. My Chemical Romace and bands like that, now they're much more Emo.

Linkin Park are far from becoming a proper metal band. Listen to some bands such as Deicide or Morbid Angel, and tell me that Linkin Park are approaching similarities to that sound.

Anyway, some Linkin Park songs are decent, while others are unbearable. I thoroughly enjoy certain songs such as "Crawling" and "Lying from You", but for the most part they're just an average band, next to all of the other <s>mainstream rubbish</s> bands that are aired on the radio and/or television.

Ah, the perfect time to voice my rant on the matter.

People: disliking *anything* because it's "mainstream" or popular is ridiculous. Simply because the band/author/artist/game is effective enough at marketing to acheive a well-known image, it does not automatically make it bad. Sure, a lot of mainstream music is bad; making a blanket statement declaring it all to be of low calibre is narrow-minded to say the least.

i used to be a huge fan back in 2000-2003.

i mean, i was an administrator n their official message board for crying out loud.

but they lost me a lot when they put out an horrible remix album as their second full-length release.

Meteora was decent, but far more conventional than their previous works.

and Minutes to Midnight is just awful. it's not a good thing when an album is so preditable you can sing along the first time you hear it. :?

and what's with all the language all of a sudden? completely unnecessary and out of place.

they will never touch the ingenuity of the Hybrid Theory EP, or the reletive freshness of the full length Hybrid Theory again, and those are really the only two releases worth checking out.

I prefer punk music, which usually has a message that I agree with. I used to listen to music just to hear something that sounded good or even just because everyone else listened to it, but then I started to get more into what music says. I came across punk, which has to do with war and politics and other interesting things.

My point is that I prefer bands that are saying things that are important to me and that's not Linkin Park and probably never will be. No offense to anyone of course; it's just my opinion.

When I first heard "In the End", I thought it was a pretty good song, along with "Breaking the Habit", but I came to the conclusion that a great bulk of their music is about pent up anger, stemming from misplaced rage. They scream way too much (and I listen to Into Eternity-a prog/metal band from Canada, that changes pace between clean and screaming vocals), and I think they are the farthest thing from metal, at least the metal I like to listen to. Their music is light years away from being open minded, this is why I listen to a certain band from Seattle, Washington, called Nevermore. Warrel Dane is a very emotional writer but his anger is focused.
