Defintely Best Movie of the Summer.. It is one my personal faves and i have seen at least 500+ films...who cares about character development so much that it is too the point of trashing this greta movie. It designs to entertain and so far i have seen 5 screenings and see no one leaving the theatre unamused, in fact, most people are cheering during the end credit roll.. love this movie..and can't wait for the sequel

All hail the king of run-on sentences.

But, yeah, i thought the movie was spectacular, and everything was done great, especially when the 360 turned into a transformer (lol). Everything was done well, but, referring to teh mention of a lack of robot development, many of the robots were not in it for very long, but, since a lot of development took place in the tv shows, they probably didn't need to develop much further.

the parents were complete imbeciles, i agree with you there. at the end of the movie, when the parents are being interviewed, they show this very well. also, the fact that the father, when shown viable evidence of something large walkign through his yard (the smashed fountain), he treats it as nothing. like an earthquake can do that. but other than that, the movie was a huge success in my eyes, one of the best movies i have seen in a long time.

I liked the Mountain Dew Transformer better, but yeah, that was a funny part.
And I can't speak for everyone, but I never saw the show, and I think a lot of other people haven't either, who saw this movie. It should be stand-alone, or else it isn't a good experience. That being said, I don't know that the transformers really needed a whole lot more development, especially the Decepticons.
And if you saw that had happened to your yard, immediately after thinking that there had been an earthquake, what would you blame... giant alien robots you don't even know exist, or the earthquake you thought just happened?

Out of ten I'd give Transformers 99, as I have been a fan of the giant metal robots since Generation 1. Go see it I say.

Best line; "Bumblebee stop lubricating on the man."

Thank you :D . Transformers is one of the best films I have ever seen. BETTER than Aliens Vs Predator and Judge Dredd put together x100, and I rate the other two films very highly.

As for me, the ultimate Godzilla fan, as proven by my avatar, transformers was one of my top movies, toping several Godzilla movies in my eyes, which is a very rare occurance......

Unfortunately, i forsee very few movies in the future earning that distinction.

Hee hee hee... what about the J.J. Abrams movie coming out in January, that had an exclusive trailer before Transformers? It looks like a new Godzilla movie, I think.

Save for probably Optimus Prime and maybe Bumblebee, the rest of the characters didn't really endear themselves to me. Then again, it's already hard enough to develop a cast of human characters, so to do so for a human cast and a robotic cast is even harder.

I agree - Optimus Prime and Bumblebee were the only names of the Transformers that I could remember an hour after the movie, although I liked them all.
I was very surprised at the acting - it was a lot better than I thought it was going to be, especially from the main guy. I was also surprised at how much I enjoyed the film - I do like good action movies but I've never seen the cartoon and I just didn't think the film would be as great as it turned out to be. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes this sort of film, (if you enjoy anything with action; fighting; some comedy; romance or 'robots' in), and I'd certainly see it again.

bumblebee and ratchet are the original characters. hot shot and red alert came later and are similar characters.

Just to start this off, Cire39 the Peter emo scene in SM3 was amazing, k?

Secondly, Transformers for me wasn't much of a Summer movie since I didn't seen it til November 1 when my uncle came to my house with the DVD, but I do have to agree that it was amazing. Ya they didn't go into showing much of the other Transformers but that's ok with me, I enjoyed what I got. My favourite part was the part when he meets the girl ( I forget her name, I'm bad with names) but wow  isn't she something? :) The only part I didn't like is how they had the soldiers story in their too, to me it just seemed out of place. But that's just my opinion. All in all I think it was a good movie, I'd watch it again, but I would've like more Transformer fight scenes.

P.S. Lol I love how the ending leaves it WIDE open for a Transformers 2, "This is Optimus Prime, and if there are any Autobots out there, Im on Earth" or whatever...I smell a sequel.
