Witch to you prefer from the star wars trilogy, the original trilogy or the um... old trilogy? I prefer the old one because general greivious is cool and theres more light saber duels.

Well, your question is oddly phrased...I mean, the old ones could be seen as the "first three' in order of when they came out. Episode 1, 2, and 3 could be seen almost like prequels.

regardless, it is 1, 2, and 3 I like best. Graphics were cool, and didn't just consist of:

"You are strong Obi Wan."

*Light saber hit.*

"Indeed, Vader."

*Another sabrer hit.

"Well, this is boring as hell."

*VAder takes Obi's head off, with LUke screaming manically (and somewhat amusingly) in the background.

That, and Chewbacca got on my nerves.

"RAGGHAGHGH!"

"What's that Chewie? You want me to push you out this airvent? Sure!"

Stupid walking rug thing...;(

The original trilogy is the episode 4, 5 and 6 because they were the original eposodes. if there's any more confusion i'll change the poll options, ok?

1, 2 and three. The original trilogy's action was to slow paced. And plus who doesn't like a mortaly tatoo obsessed red guy get his legs cut off while him [and his legs] go flopping down some ramdom endlise pit?

I'd have to say I enjoyed the original trilogy much more than I do the new one (Episodes 1,2,3), because Episodes 1,2, and 3 stray to far from the Star Wars saga in my opinion. In episodes 1 and 2 half of the people were just fillers to add more time to the movies. Episode 3 was the best of the new movies, but only because it actually described how Anakin became Darth Vader, which is what 1,2, and 3 are supposed to be about. Episodes 1 and 2 strayed to far from that course.

I preferred the Original Trilogy. I hated Episodes 1, 2 and 3 for one reason and one reason only. Jar Jar Binks. The Original Trilogy was just so much better. The Prequels sucked. I mean, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith was just Hayden Christensen portraying a character with laughable angst.

I like both trilogies, although I think both had their faults.

The original triology was ruined by the Ewoks. Those stupid bears were annoying, and it makes no sense that they could defeat the Imperials with a few stones. Too much of the whole "Goodness prevails over all" morals. Apart from that, it was a brilliant series and it deserves classic status. The scenes on Hoth will remain as my favourite part from any film ever.

The latest trilogy introduced new graphics and provided a backstory for the new trilogy. It was interesting seeing the focus move towards the variety in the universe (since most of 4, 5 and 6 revolved around the two human factions), and Coruscant was a wonder of CGI. However, yet again a Star Wars movie was destroyed by a comical race included to keep the kids happy. Jar Jar Binks sucks ass, and the Gunguns ultimately are only cool when in video games. Apart from that, and a few other problems, good films.

If I HAD to choose, I'd go for 4, 5 and 6. Absolute classics in every way.

it's hard to chose thier all good but 3 is my lest fav
2 is cool when it starts to rain clones 1's battles at the end are cool
4 is slow 5 is awsome with the battle of Hoth and it has the best ending
of the six I like the space battle in 6 but the ground battle sould not
have truned out like that with the best stromtropers in the Empire
there but all things coundsider the original triology wins

I am a major Star Wars fan. The first episode I saw was Episode I: The Phantom Menace. I ended up seeing them all in order 1-6 instead. When I first got into Star Wars I perfered the prequels but now I perfer the original trilogy.

Lol, it was strange that they won, considering they were like teddy bears, but it wasn't just with a few stones, they got on the flying fighter and in the big ground ones.
I thought that the one who became their friend was really cute :P.

Isn’t that the point?

<3 He may be annoying but for some reason I loved Jar Jar Binks.

Anyway, I prefer the original. Although the effects were sh*ttier, my favourite of all the episodes/films was Return of the Jedi because it wrapped up the whole thing, lol.

I didn't really understand the last sentance, but eh. Anyway, logic says that heavily armoured and well-equipped Imperial Stormtroopers that both outnumber and outevolved their opponents should be able to win. And how can an AT-ST, which can survive rocket attacks, be destroyed by a catapult?

S'ppose, but I'm not that keen on such simplistic storylines. That's one of the advantages of the newer films - it isn't all black-and-white, good-and-evil.

The effects were actually pretty impressive, especially for their time. I saw a few minutes of RotJ on Sunday, and I was thinking "Wow, the explosions still look great after twenty years".

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore the films! The nostalgia still hasn't worn off in the half-decade or so since my young self sat in the living room with a cold and a slice of pizza and watched Phantom Menace.

I am above all else a lover of everything that is Star Wars. I thought both trilogies were great. They each had their highs & lows of course. I thought the ground breaking nature of the first trilogy & the fact that it came first make it the "better" of the two. The second trilogy was amazing visually & I loved the Jedi aspect of those films much more. The second trilogy just didn't measure up to the originals though. Corny characters & weak storyline throughout the movies made it more for kids than anything. I think ROTS got away from that & turned out to be really good. I must say though the original is better for me, but I no longer look at them as two separate trilogies. Instead they are a six film saga of greatness. I hope they make more movies & LONG LIVE STAR WARS!!!

I voted wrong on the poll.

I thought the first three episodes were terrible. I was a enormous Star Wars fan until I saw Phantom Menace. The third was OK, but the end was so corny, I couldn't believe it. What would a droid know about hope? :| The last three were some of the best movies created, even if the Ewoks were jejune. They were still cute.

The force of the rocks knocked it over, and... apparently there was a fuel leak, 'cause it exploded. :\

I like I,II and III. Those Clone Troopers looks so cool and they look better than those idiot Storm Troopers. How can they say Storm Trooper is the successor to the Clone Trooper, I mean the Storm Trooper helmet looks terrible. All those ships in 4,5,6 look just like plastic models unlike those in 1,2,3. Those lightsaber duels are also quite slow compared to 1,2,3. But the story is good in 4,5,6.

Well you have to consider the fact that the Original Trilogies first movie came out in 1977 which is way before the time of the kick ass technology that we have now. Actually if 4-7 would have came out in oh let's say 1999 most of you guys would have chosen differently since the visuals would have been better.

Me I go with the oldies, if it wasn't for the Original Trilogy I most likely wouldn't have bothered to see the prequels(especially that crappy Phantom Menace ). I've always like the original trilogy except when Han started being nice that was kind of stupid. Think of all the plot twist that had you at the edge of your seat like when Luke found out he had a sister, or when Jabba trapped Luke in the arena with that monster thing. There weren't really any moments in the prequels that actually surprised me, though I most admit Episode 3 was a pretty good movie, I just hate how in the prequels the droids have personalities, it was better when they would just shut up shoot.

Edit:

WTF that movie was the best of the prequels, it was the rise of Darth Vader. How the hell is that your least favorite?

I Liked IV V and VI. (emphasis on V) Episodes one and two provided a good back story for episode III (and to a lesser extent IV V and VI), but weren't as exciting as the others. Episode III had some major politics involved in the plot line, and While I really love that, I'm not sure everyone does. But my favorite is Empire strikes back, No doubt there. Giant Walkers, Asteroid Fields, and a really old yet cool alien guy to boss Farm Boy around. What more could you want? :)

I found Episodes4, 5 and 6 more bloody. Like the scene where Luke fell somewhere near the ending in Episode 5. Episodes 1,2 and 3 didn't have much blood than I expected. Both were fair but the battle between Vader and Luke would have been nicer if tey added more sceneries or areas for both of them to move to.

The original Star Wars trilogy is absolutely brilliant. The best movies of all time. Everyone in my family loves Star Wars, and it comes as a shock to us every time someone says "I've never seen those movies.." to us.

Hmm, The Empire Strikes back and Return of The Jedi are both brilliant films, so I can't decide between them.

PM, AOTC and ROTS were disappointing. Jar Jar was not the comic relief that was needed, C3PO is enough. Also, the personality for every droid? No, that doesn't work. It only works for C3PO because he's a Human-Cyborg Relations Droid, so he's programmed to mimic a human's personality. I was not pleased when the battle droids said things like "Uh-oh.." and "You stupid little astro droid!" The fight scenes were pleasing, but when Obi-Wan killed Darth Maul, I didn't find it believable. I mean, come on. He jumps up OVER Darth Maul - that's the perfect opportunity for Maul to just stab him in the guts. Okay, they're just films. I'll shut up. =P

Yeah, the poll choices are badly named...they both seem like they refer to IV-VI...Anyways...

Worst thing about Original Trilogy: Ewoks
Worst thing about Prequel Trilogy: The Phantom Menace

Original for the win! :P
