No, unfortunately I haven't. It looks like an excellent movie and I loved the books so I look forward to seeing it in the future. Although the future might come faster for me, my teacher said she might take the class to see it before Christmas, so I'm excited about that  .

There is.....it's called Empire. It was supposed to come out Fall of 2006, in the US, but I don't know what happened

I once thought about reading the book, but I never got the time. Now that the film is out, I'm wondering if I should bother, I mean, it looks like a complete rip off of Lord of the Rings!! Eragon = Aragorn/Aragon/however-you-spell-it-on Setting = Setting Dragons, other mythical beings. Main character = Frodo, but taller and less hair on the feet. I might be seeing it with my auntie but I need convincing... |

Well since Lord of The Rings isn't about a war about dragon riders it's not really a rip-off. It's worth reading,I can't wait to see the movie. |

Yeah, but the names suggest that he got his ideas from Lord of the Rings; not that that's a major problem, it just puts me off watching it, the fact that the only original thing (from what I have seen in the trailer) is the dude on a dragon, and that's about it. I'll eventually read the book, and then I'll watch the film, but until then, I'm a self proclaimed critic.

To me it just seems too Lord of the Rings-ish. I mean don't get me wrong, Lord of the Rings was a great trilogy but the whole dragon rider thing seems too cliche. |

Well logically speaking if Lord Of the Rings was such a good hit and this was based off of it then shouldn't eragon be good. |

I thought the movie was really bad, a complete Lord of The Rings rip-off. The plot was a complete mix of different movies all along, especially when the main character's -sort of- tutor died, that reminded me too much of Star Wars... The whole idea, like 2x4b said: 2x4b wrote: ...the whole dragon rider thing seems too cliche. To sum up, Eragon is like a teen version of Lord of the Rings. Not pretty. |

The movie looks horrible. Thats too bad because the books are great. About the Empire thing, that is just speculation on the title. The only thing that is 100% confirmed is that the book is going to be green. |

I don't know... I hope Empire isn't another copy of Eldest. If so say good bye to the series. I'm seeing the movie later tonight and I'll have to see myself how it is. |

The movie could have been good, if they stuck to the book. You could tell Chris didn't like it either. He kept dodging the questions. When the interveiwer asked him what he thought of the movie, he would say he liked he director or the actors, but never gave a direct answer. It's just too bad, the books were great. |

Book is actually engaging Movie made me cough on my popcorn and vomited when choking..... Serious! Game made me break my PS2 just trying to kick a troll looking's rear Eragon in all gets a 2.5 from me... SOB it made me vomit |

I loved the Book, but didn't like the movie (the movies was kinda horrible). I like Eldest better than Eragon. For the whole Series I would rate it a 8.9 out of 10 |

Okay know that we have all evaluated that eragon is a good book and a bad movie what do you guys think eldest will be like as a movie? If it has the same director it might just be as bad as the Eragon movie. |

yeah, I say they need a new director, but I think the movies would be all right. Well maybe not so well when they are traveling to the world of the elves (what was that called again?). You know when they first set out from the mountain and go across the desert to the elves (I think he wrote too many pages on that) |

Omg, the movie was ok. The thing about it though...IT DIDNT FOLLOW THE BOOK AT ALL. There was all this random stuff that didnt even happen in the book. I personally also think the movie was too short because it didnt cover enough things that happened in the long book. |
