I remember, they left the entire first scene out of the movie where Ponyboy gets ambushed

I remember reading the book in 7th grade. Really really good. The sequel 'That Was Then, This is Now' kinda made The Outsiders a bit sad as you hear what became of Ponyboy.
The movie was ok though it should have been a bit longer. What made the movie neat was all the stars they had in it, especially because a lot were unknown at the time. Even Tom Cruise was there!

I know. the books are amazing but when the movie comes out its kinda lame. kinda like the tale of desperoux.
