It's now impossible to explain. Just listen to bands like the New York Dolls, MC5, Stooges, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Clash, Stranglers, Damned, Buzzcocks andSham 69. Then decide for yourself. |

Sure, listening to bands like New York Dolls, Ramones, Clash... It's punk. But it's not punk NOW. Punk now is like, NOFX, Anti-Flag, Rise Against(<3), No Use for a Name (<3), Against Me!, No Trigger, The Lawrence Arms, Black Flag, Sick of it All... Pop punk is like, Green Day, Blink-182... Angels and Airwaves suck and aren't punk at all. There's different types of punk, too. If you listen to NOFX and then Rise Against... They really sound nothing alike. You'll have to find your own style. If you want to get into punk rock, I suggest buying a compilation CD with a lot of bands on it and pick a few you like. |

New found glory is not punk,there emo. Green day is not punk either. Blink 182's old music was pop punk.(love Blink 182) Angels and Airwaves are not punk. Some Punk bands are... A global threat Cheap se Sham69 The virus The germs Anti flag Against all authority The casualties The adicts The adolescents Black flag Circle jerks Subhumans G.B.H Minor threat Gorilla biscuits Nofx X ray spex Lower class brats The specials Operation ivy ss-kaliert Toxic narcotic 7 seconds Toy dolls Those are all punk bands.
