Gorebyss, IMO is a Hagfish. A Pretty hagfish.

Anyway, there need to be:

Llama
Lemur
Fossa
Flamingo
Peacock
Kappa (a better one then Lombre)
Goat
MOOOOOSE
Corn

Yes, there needs to be a corn poke. I don't know why. A Tomato would be cool too.

Well we have Eggs and a coconut tree, so corn is reasonable.

But we still need a Kangaroo Pokemon. And Possum, Koala, Platypus, Tasman Devil, and most other marsupials.

And I don't care what you say. Kangaskhan is NOT a kangaroo.

I am all for the corn and tomato pokemon! (Even though corn and tomato aren't really animals... :D)

Isn't Golduck modeled after a kappa? It's Red/Blue dex entry says "It is often mistaken for the Japanese monster, kappa."

Say, maybe we should have a cucumber pokemon ^_^ Oops, but that's also not an animal. ^^;

and what about turtles torkoal yes but i think ppl need water turtles and lightning turtles that would be cool 8) we also desperarately need venus fly traps and u cant tell me {venusaur} is a venus fly trap

Venusaur is a cross between a dinosaur and a flower, I guess.

Squirtle is a turtle, but I prefer those "on all fours" and "flippers instead of feet" kind of turtles.

As for penguins, I personally think that Delibird is one.

Isn't that what {tentacool} and {tentacruel} is?

I won't try to say that, but {victreebel} is a Pitcherplant, and Venus Flytraps and Pitcherplants are like cousins.

Actually the Tentas are jellyfish, as in the episode where the giant Tentacruel attacked that city in the old anime with Misty, Misty refered to them as 'jellyfish'.
Squids have more of a pointed head instead of rounded.

The defining characteristic of the Kappa is the water pail on its head. It only has so much water in the pail and if it all fails out the kappa dies. Because of this, Lombre and Ludicolo are more obviously based on the Kappa. Kappas also modelled to resemble ducks sometimes, hence Golduck, although Golduck lacks the water pail on its head, and kappas can have characteristics of turtles too. Lombre is a more accurate recreation of a Kappa than its evolution or Golduck.

Some other notes...
-Again, Arcanine is a shishi, so it's not particularly a lion, dog, tiger, or dragon - it's a mixture of all four. The lion is evident from the mane, the dog is evident from the nose, the tiger is evident from the stripes, and the dragon is evident from Arcanine's legendary status and its ability to learn Dragon attacks. The shishi is another mythical Japanese (or Chinese) creature, like the kappa.

-RE: Hippo Pokemon. Personal belief, but Slowpoke and Slowbro are based partially on hippos, with the Shellder lore of the evolutions being based on hermitcrabs. At least the structure of Slowpoke/bro/king's heads/faces are modelled very closely after a hippo's. And they have the cute little hippo ears!

-Psyduck is nothing like a platypus. If you've even seen pictures of platypi, that much should be obvious.

couldnt raikou be considered a tiger? {raikou} just looks like one, although i understand both arcanine {arcanine} and raikou are considered "dogs".

trapinch is a tetrapod, stantler is a reindeer because if u remember ash had to to save christmas by finding a cure for santa's sick stantler

i think {slowpoke} is a hippo too. frost u seem to know a lot about mythological japanese creatures. the truth is almost all pokemon are a combination of mythological creatures and real animals. no pokemon is simply "made-up". u just have to have diverse knowledge to figure out what the resemblences are.
