I really like James, he comes across as a misguided, misunderstood guy just trying to find his place in life. Meowth and Jesse aren't really evil either, but the three of them egg each other on to do bad things so its a vicious circle, really.

I like Team Rocket best out of all the characters, theyre the ones with the most interesting stories.

Poor James, he's more confused and running away from himself. He just happened to fall in with the wrong crowd. I really agree with Frost, not so much evil, as lost.
It would be nice to see them go honest when the show ends.

I dont know about you guys, but to me, James seems like a good person. Its just that jesse and {meowth} push him into things. he cares about his pokemon alot, it doesnt seem that he is bad, what do you guys think?

yea I agree but I think that Jesse bosses around {meowth} too

Yea great example today. TR was on this island with mating donphan so they sent all their pokes out. Jeese told the pokes to protect them, and James wishpered to that Chimecho (who has been the only reason ive started to watch the anime again, love that Chimecho) that he didnt have to get in the way. Jeese then yelled at James for it. So yeah, James is probably just being bullyed into it. I wouldnt mind seeing him join up with Ash and co. for a few episodes, and leave Jeese and Meowth alone.

I doubt he is evil, but the only thing I am sure of him is he is a complete idiot and a dorkface. If he had good team-mates he would be nicer.

I think he TRY'S to be evil, because he robs pikachu and other pokemon, but most of the time he's just a dork, making the show more exiting.

Other. He's just stupid, he goes crazy about chimecho and's the only person I know who uses meowth. Three words for him: Get a life!

James just wants to be away from his family and Jessie and {meowth} are his friends.

James is just usually pushed around by Jesse and sometimes Meowth. James is my favorite character.

He's not evil. :D James is just a big ol' teddy bear, Meowth sticks with the group because he cares for them deep down (either that or he really doesn't have any other options), and Jessie... okay, well Jessie is a little evil. Not anymore than any other female, mind you. 8-)

James is definately not evil. He is probably my favorite TR person, second being Meowth. I think it's cute how he dotes on his Pokemon, and I think he would join Ash and co if he could

Erm, he isn't really all that absent minded either. There was an episode (I forget the season), where James and Jesse had this flashback to when they were trying to become TR members.

James was actually really smart. And Jesse was desperate to join TR, but none of her partners stuck with her for a full mission, they kept getting injured or something like that.

Meowth got stuck with them, and kept complaining on the obstacle course, or whatever. James gave him some of his bread rations. It was ridiculously cute.

Another episode his Chimeco got injured, so they ended up going to his 'Nana and Pop-pop's' house, if I remember correctly. He worked so hard to keep them from knowing he'd turned to an evil organization, because they were the only bit of his family they cared about. The rest of the episode showed him watching Chimeco, and stopping Jesse and Meowth from stealing the other Pokemon.

. . . So, yeath. James is my favorite too, and there's actually a lot of depth to him. Plus, who can resist the rose when they say the TR pledge...?

to me its a no, it looks as if he had a bad childhood and he was spoiled cuz of his rich parents, he must have got tired of being a rich person with manners and stuff, but turning evil was too much for him i guess....

james is my fav, and he really seems to be kind hearted. maybe if he wasnt in TR, he would be one of the good guys. his hair is awesome even though its purple, but for some reason, he fits in with it very well.

GO JAMES!

I don't think the trio (Jesse, James, and Meowth) are truly evil. I think they just give into peer pressure.

The trio are kindof wanabee bad guys but they fail, badly. In the first ep they came of as mildly bad ass but since then they've become much more attached to their pokemon, james with chimecho and when he left cacnea *sniff* and jessie when she left dustox :(
The ep which pretty much proves how non-evil they are has to be 'a poached ego' at the beginning of hoenn season.

James was rich and was being forced into marrige or somthing so he ran away with Jesse.
(i could be wrong though havent watched the shows in a while)

So nope he not really evil just joined TR to get away from marrige.

I remember that, too.
And I think that it is the reason.
