Post subject:  Who's the Hottest Male Character?
Unfortunately for us females, the pokemon series was designed to appeal mostly to a male audience, and as such the number of bishonen (cute/hot guys) is rather small. Since the guys are all arguing over who the hottest girl is, I'm curious to know who you all think is the hottest, or most desirable guy is in the anime ;)

Of course, all of the main ones have their flaws:

Ash- He'd certainly be loyal, I guess, and I suppose his whole determination thing is kinda sweet. I guess he's all well and good, if you go for the young, stupid type.

Brock- Well if Miroku has fangirls, I guess Brock must have some too.

Gary- I can sorta see what his cheerleaders see in him, but he's excessively arrogant! Still, gotta respect a guy with an umbreon.

Tracey- Ah the artsy type. Nice enough, but really annoying after awhile.

Max- I think he's still at the "eeew, girls have coo-ties" stage, but I could see him growing into a sweet, caring, geek-ish sort of guy.

James- Why must all the promising boys be blatantly and openly gay in the Japanese version?

So feel free to discuss other pokemon guys, since the cutest ones don't seem to stick around very long.

Well, if I was going to go from one Episode alone it would be James on the seconde Episode, when he has on that balloon, in the night sky... holding that rose, I mean, now that was when he looked good, but after than he just became gay & uninteresting. Oh well.

But after seeing most of it, the best looking guy in the whole of any series has definatly got the be Morty! The Gym Leader from whatever its called city in Johto. Plus you gotta love the mysterious types.

This is a little worrying O.o

I think I'm with Leona though- Morty's quite good looking (in an anime sort of way, o'course,) and I can really respect a guy who can train evil undead spirits and teach children :D I dunno about that outfit though- his game sprite has purple-ish clothes and white hair, which I have to say I prefer to that blue and yellow shirt.

Of the main cast, though, I think I'd go with Tracey. He's still pretty young, so he'd probably grow out of the annoying stage, and he's a darn good artist.

Ash: Personality-wise, I much prefer him in the current series as opposed to Kanto and when he was a whiny 10 year old. He looks pretty good now, but he needs to do something with his hair or leave the cap on. As far as the regular characters go, he's second in my book.

Brock: I have thing for spiky haired men, especially of Brock's darker skin tone, and I think he's the hottest of the show's male characters. Ash/Brock is just about the only Pokemon slash pairing that doesn't make me wince and have a fit over horrible pairing ideas. And he's Brock, how can you not love his silliness?

Tracey: Aesthestically, he's okay. His hair is kind of stupid, and his headband is really dorky, but I still can't stand him. He replaced Brock and he looks and act like a total putz. "Gee Misty, that Rhydon looks really angry! It's stampeding us! Lemme take out my handy dandy notebook and sketch it LOLZERS!1!"

James: James is too goofy and feminine for me, and regardless I'd have emotional issues with finding him attractive because my screenname used to be JamesTR and everything. James is definitely a fruit, but yet I'm still a supporter of Rocketshipping. Or at least them having a soulmate-ish type of bond even if Jimmy likes boys.

Gary? He looks okay, but I don't like the attitude. Ditto for Drew, only he has green hair and looks worse than Gary. I don't care for Butch for the same reason (green hair, it just doesn't look good). As far as the Gym Leaders go, I like... well, a few of them: Surge, Koga and Brawly. There is a common theme here, and it's hair-related. Yes, hair is that important.

I was the one vote for Brock in the poll, FYI. Why the hell is Max even a choice, unless some of us are secretly pedophiles?

I've just realized I've forgotten two important males: Steven Stone and Wallace.

Steven: Beautifull eyes color, nice hairdo and interesting hair color as well (silver). He has an adventure-like hobby, and what a stone collection he probably has...Nice pok

i'm not saying girls are stupid (i'm a guy) but you all go for the big, muscly guys that try to act all macho, have you ever wondered why they try to act all macho? is it because they are secretly gay? well my verdict is yes, i mean are they closet squirrel? behind closed doors do they put on a strap on tail and parade up and down calling themselves nutkin? well we don't know do we, have you noticed that whenever you ask a question such as: if you were a woman which male celebrity would you want to date, macho guys immeadiatly steer away from the conversation, if you're secure in your masculinity you can answer a simple hypothetical question surely, so in my verdict macho guys are gay.

I don't think there /are/ any really macho guys in Pokemon, Kryten, and if there were most girls probably wouldn't go for them- sure a few women like guys with more muscle than brains, but just as many prefer sensitive guys, and geeky guys are becoming more popular these days, too. I think the closest anyone here has come to saying they like a macho guy would be Frost mentioning that he liked Brawley, which does very little to support your "all females like macho guys" theory.

And what on earth does any of that remark have to do with this topic?

Everyone has a taste, there's no point saying all girls run after muscly guys. I would be making the same mistake saying "all boys run after big-boobed girls".

James being gay is mostly (intelligent) speculation on the part of American fans. Back at the beginning of the series, James crossdressed a lot and of course he had that famously misconstrued line about "going straight," but this was when 4Kids didn't start changing aspects about Kojiro in the dubbing for James. During Kanto, James was a little weird, but it was easily to believe he could be straight and he did think Giselle was cute and there was a lot of Rocketshipping hints. But since late-Johto, James acts and talks a lot more like a gay guy, with his fruiter voice, commentary on people's hairs and outfits, and usage of pet names for Jesse like "sweetheart." Then 4Kids has also fabricated parts of James' past that Kojiro never took part in (James performing ballet as a steady hobby, for one thing), and Eric Stuart has gone on record saying that he voices the character as if he was homosexual anyway. When was the last time James found a girl cute? When was the last time he wasn't twirling around or shrieking like a girl? There's just little room for speculation on James' sexuality in the current episodes, given how much he's changed since the early ones.

The portuguese dubbing also makes James a bit gayish.

I guess a bit of this character's background also throws him, somehow, to the homo side. Being rich and forced to marry that horrible creature, Jessible (could this be the reason why James is....at least, unaffected by females?)...

Plus, all his femine crossdressing...And have we forgotten the Aopulco episode, where we find our James proudly showing his new pair of breasts?

If only Satishi made James a bit more meanier....And added to him a bit of Butch's evil characterism and actions, we could have a real bad boy. Tajiri didn't need to make James gay to make he a nutter, he could be straight and funny at the same time....Plus, how about his pok

Ash-stupidest, guy in the anime!

Brock- cool, wise, kinda like yoda...

Gary- can you say 8|7(|-|?

Tracey-stupid, like ash, but he actually can draw!

Max-dumb, little kid, an interesting fact: cooties where what lice wher called back in midevil times, so he thinks girls have lice obviously

James-second stupidest, but can be good comedy releif but totally gay.

Indeed, that has to do with prime nature and instincts. It's so interesting how man and woman think differently, and how we choose our partners. As I said before, everyone has a taste, you're making a big mistake generalizing that behaviour.

I'm hoping you run after big boobs because is the first thing you notice. But if the physical is the only thing you consider in a partner, then you're doomed.

Oh well, I'm so unlucky immature guys don't fall in love with me, because I am so unnattractive. At least, there is hope (with proves).

Sorry, I went off-topic, but I had to say a few words. And I agree with SwellowLuvr, Ash's indeed too childish...
