Well, I nickname my FR legendaries (Myuutsuu, Saanda, Furizza & ... Something else I can't remember) they're all the Japanese names.

The same reason you give your dog a name.

But why would you even want more than 1 of the same pokemon.

Breeding, natures, abilities, movesets, collecting, evolution, trading, shiny-ness, gender (for attraction-users), pokemon contests- the list goes on.
